I came here multiple time and I wasnt disappointed the rooftop is just amazing and the DJ were top notch. The layout is also great as they have 2 outdoors areas with one being smaller than the other one. And each one had a different view. Outdoor 1: Kind of Small and have a view on The BK Bridge. Outdoor 2: Large space and have a view on the Manhattan Skyline. The inside is also cozy in case you want to take a break from dancing out in the sun. read more

"Had an absolutely wonderful time at the crown rooftop! The views are truly breathtaking, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing evening. What really made the experience, show out to Sarah and angel they were incredibly attentive, friendly, and accommodating.  The only reason I am not giving five stars is the sound system. The music quality was quite low and tinny, which didn't quite match the high-end vibe of the view. A better audio system would make this place a 10/10 spot. The Crown has a beautiful location and view of the city with a great layout of the bar and plenty of comfortable seating. The food had some interesting combinations like cheese on watermelon (which I wasn't a huge fan of), but the potatos and cucumber salad were great. Unfortunately, we never got utensils or water with the food. Just used the watermelon skewers... We also had an issue with one of the drinks not being delivered and one of our flatbreads not coming out without us asking a few times for them. By the time the flatbread was done, we had to leave. I'd recommend coming at happy hour because I don't know if I would pay very much more for anything other than the view... also minus stars for having an AI phone attendant that always routed me to email them... read more

We had a blast last night (4/24/26)! We are staying at the hotel where this roof top bar is located so we didn't have to stumble far to get home. They had a DJ which played great music all night. The bartenders, Dan and Sarah, were AMAZING! They were super fun, social and made sure the drinks were flowing. The views, day or night, are absolutely amazing from the patio. Came here before dinner as it was nearby. When we arrived at 6pm, there wasn't anyone at the check-in stand downstairs and the bar upstairs was fairly empty (guess I didn't need a reservation!). If you're coming for the expansive views, you'll find them on the four couches right against the windows. The other seating areas are bit further back. I'm guessing the multiple outdoor patios make this the place to be in warmer months. Unfortunately, the men's bathroom (at 6pm) was, to put it bluntly, revolting and smelled like it hadn't been touched by a mop in days. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience genuinely ruined part of my stay in NYC. I'm a paying guest at the hotel and went up to the rooftop/restaurant area on the third night of my stay. I had briefly brought up outside food, sat in an area with virtually no one around me, and had been there maybe five minutes when I was approached by a manager named Nick. I completely understand if there is a policy against outside food. Had someone simply said, "Hey, just a heads up, no outside food," this would have been over in 30 seconds. Instead, the situation escalated in a way that felt completely unnecessary and frankly bizarre. I explained I was almost done and intended to order food/drinks afterward, but was immediately told I needed to leave. Even after I finished eating, I was still told to leave. The explanations then kept changing -- first hotel guests supposedly weren't allowed, then there was an event, then I had to pay, then actually I didn't have to pay. No one could provide a clear explanation or policy in writing when I asked. Most shocking of all, I was threatened with security and told the police could be called for "trespassing" -- despite the fact that I was literally a paying guest staying at the hotel. What made this especially uncomfortable was the tone of the interaction. Instead of professionally explaining a policy, personal comments started being made about me, including references to where I was "from" and comments implying I had been out the night before. The interaction left me feeling singled out, profiled, and deeply unwelcome. To be clear: the front desk staff and security team were kind and professional. This review is specifically about how this situation was handled by management. Hospitality is about de-escalation, professionalism, and making guests feel welcome. This was the opposite. read more

Mmm....so I'm not sure about The Crown. You can help me decide. The Crown is located on the 21st floor, featuring panoramic views of Chinatown. We came on the first warm day of the year. Parking was terrible. I felt terribly overdressed walking through Chinatown in heels. Upon arrival, there was little to no signage. I wasn't really sure where I was going. The elevator, however, moves quickly. So quick it dumps you out at the narrow elevator area and reservation desk. We were seated quickly, but alongside another party (like same bench). As we chatted with them the weather changed drastically (reports stated a 30 degree drop in an hour - a force majeure for sure). How server was nice enough to immediately move us inside. I'm not sure what I expected, but I didn't think the menu would be as petite as it was. We ordered the chicken, pork dumplings, and chicken tenders. I was surprised by the chicken tenders, they didn't seem to go. I guess, with the disappointing weather, leaving knowing we would have to dine elsewhere within two hours, and parking - I can't say I'd be back. Even with the DJ present...I just didn't feel a vibe. I do appreciate their commitment to keeping the ambiance fresh. I noticed several seating changes from the reviews on Yelp. Again, our server was very kind. Need help on this one. read more

Stopped by here for a drink before dinner on a Saturday afternoon. The outdoor seating was already reserved, but we were able to snag a couch inside. Service was good and cocktails were solid. We were served in plastic glasses with straws, but honestly I think our drinks were bigger. Well balanced cocktails, strong enough but still flavorful and enjoyable. I came here on a Saturday afternoon. You can take the elevator straight up to the rooftop. They check IDs at the door. It's fairly spacious, with a large main outdoor patio and a smaller nook on the side. Lovely views of the lower east side neighborhood. They have a few tables, which you can reserve. At 4pm, it was already starting to get crowded. Music was pretty loud so it wouldn't be a good place to try to hold a conversation. They have a dance floor, which I can imagine gets packed during late nights. We didn't stay long, but it could be a fun place for groups looking for a high energy night out. read more

Went on Tuesday, 12/18/24 @ 10pm. Not many people there, felt empty. The outside was too cold, so it wasn't set up, but you can walk out there and look. The view is vast, but also a bit boring. Nothing "wrong" with it, but I wouldn't travel any length to come here. read more

I really wanted to like this bar. It's a rooftop bar on top of Hotel 50 Bowery in Chinatown. The hours are a bit odd and they do last call way to early in my opinion. Anywho, the first night my group and I sat at an outside table which had amazing views! The cocktails were pretty good and our waitress that evening was friendly. The views alone and the service that night had me at 5 stars. What brought me down to 3 was the second night our group went. We elected to simply grab a drink at the bar. Didn't catch the ladies name, but quite opposite of the first nights experience. She was super cold, rude, no greeting, seemed mad almost for taking our order. Definitely wasn't inviting, which caused us to wrap it up and head out after only one cocktail. I'd go back if ever in NYC again, just for the view. But their staff courteousness is inconsistent. Wouldn't be my first choice next time around. On another note. My stay at The Hotel 50 Bowery was great! read more

The lobby signs and art will let you know you're in the right place. We took the elevator to the top floor and were welcomed by the hostess for our company holiday party. They had 5 standing tables set up, 3 bartenders and one appetizer table. The appetizers were subpar, they included, burger sliders, sushi rolls, ham and cheese, grill cheese with truffles, pig in a blanket, hummus, flat bread and veggies for dipping. I wasn't in love with the food, but the drinks and view are a gem. I don't think I'll return, unless it's for drinks on the roof. read more

Mirror balls, city views, cocktail bar. THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. While staying at the Hotel 50 Bowery, we decided to eat out and have drinks at The Crown. We weren't too sure what to expect or what the space would be like. All we knew is that we wanted those VIEWS. We went up one floor on the elevator and landed in this magical, loungy, exclusive, "IT" spot. Music playing, live DJ, disco ball: a place full of energy. The heart of it was the bar and its bartenders fueling us all. Reservations are definitely highly recommended. There are high tables available in the middle of the room, with the lights, energy and center of it all. More private areas towards the back with loungy couches and areas to relax and have a drink and a few bites with your friends. The BEST view is outside. We attempted to stay out there but we only made it as far pulling out our iphones for a few pictures. It was definitely worth it, too cold to stay out, but way worth coming back on the warmer nights to enjoy. Overall, amazing space, vibe, drinks, everything. Loved it all. If you're staying at the hotel, make sure to ride to the rooftop. You won't be dissappointed! If you're not and you happen to be in Chinatown? I came here for a Close Friends Only event on a Sunday night. It was really fun. The rooftop offers amazing views and is very spacious, although inside and outside got extremely crowded and tight. The drinks at the bar were a little pricey but expected for the location and ambiance. Beautiful rooftop bar with amazing view and drinks! The husband and I recently visited The Crown during our stay at 50 Bowery. Compared to other bars and restaurants in town, it was super easy to make a reservation for sunset on a Friday evening. The bar itself was actually pretty empty which was perfect for us, since we could easily walk around the entire place and enjoy the multiple rooftop views. Since it was December it was quite cold for us to be seating outside, but they do offer blankets in case you don't mind the cold wind. Their cocktails were absolutely delicious! My husband had the espresso martini and I had a mezcal drink from their seasonal menu (can't remember the name). Frankly I think they were the best drinks we had during our entire trip in NYC. I also want to give a special shout out to the amazing staff! The manager of The Crown was extremely nice and great to talk to. Everyone working there was really kind and I appreciate their hospitality since I don't think you can find that everywhere in the city. They made us feel super comfortable and was truly our best bar experience during our trip. read more

When we tried to sit outside, we were told by the waitress that the area was reserved, despite there being plenty of empty tables. The waitress was off-putting and could have easily suggested a different table outside but said we can only sit inside. Overall, the experience was disappointing. Was roaming around the chinatown area and stumbled into this rooftop gem! The views here are gorgeous! They have clear glass barriers so you get a perfectly clear view. The only downside is that they don't have any heaters outside, so you can only enjoy it for a little while before coming back in. We only stayed for one drink, an espresso martini, which was pretty darn good and gave us just the kick we needed! Definitely recommend as part of any chinatown/LES itinerary. read more

What a disappointing way to end our NYC trip. What was supposed to be the grand finale (and ironically the one thing we made reservations in advance for) ended up being the worst thing we did in this city. Terrible music, bad service, and underwhelming & overpriced drinks. Worth the view? Sure, IF we had actually been able to enjoy the views. What was the point of requesting an outdoor seat with city views if we were going to end up spending the evening with people crowding in front of us? What was one of my best kept secrets appears to be now one of the popular rooftop bars to attend in this area. Also from reading my old review, don't know why I would think they serve food. Well technically they serve small bites, but no one is coming here to order food. Seems like people are constantly calling to book a reservation for private events or for reserved seats so it is a bummer to see sections closed off or being chased away by the 'promoters' that the space is reserved. And then the guests end up abandoning the space anyways. Amateurs. One thing that I found quite annoying is the priority the bartender takes drink orders. I noticed that there is a woman that walks around taking orders on an iPad. Those drinks are made first before the bartender will take orders from people that are standing at the bar. You could be standing at the bar for a good half hour before they notice that you're standing there for a while and finally take your drink order. This is something they need to fix. Or maybe they don't care enough, who knows. read more
