Super fun, chill, house/deep techno vibe the one day we were there. Then they played bad bunny. Interesting switch but still a lot of fun. Super dim but very vibey and calm. Can get overcrowded and hot

A really fun place. Decent large bar downstairs with seating off to the side (booths/ reserved). The upstairs is more for dancing and there is ample seating up there as well. The drinks were delicious and despite it being extremely busy it only took a few minutes to wait for drinks. I would definitely return. They also have a photo both to take pictures in by the door. Such a fun night!

What a retro and cool spot for a night out in LES! We came by from recommendation at a nearby bar and it's definitely a vibe. It's unassuming outside, but the minute we walked in, I was amazed by how much space this place has. It's two floors with the upstairs being more of a club lounge vibe and the ground floor felt like a house party with a pool table. This definitely is the spot that all the cool kids in their 20's are hanging out at. It was also a very busy Friday night, so a bit crowded. I'd come by on a weeknight or earlier for a chill vibe. The drinks were also pretty strong and decently priced for Manhattan at $17 for a cocktail. I had the Sesame Old Fashioned, which was really just a classic Old Fashioned sans sesame. It's good, but maybe rename it. Great vibes and definitely a hot spot in town.

My rating for this spot varied wildly during my stay. I went from open minded to three stars to four stars to five stars, and eventually back to four. I started with three stars because the bartender was curt with me, pretty much making my drink as quickly as possible and blowing me off to go chat with some younger, prettier girls. I don't care about extra attention, but don't forget older people have more money, and we just want decent service (keep in mind I'm 43, so not even THAT old). Then he came back and made me a second drink and was more attentive and he asked me my favorite and made sure I was taken care of and was happy with my stay. He was much more attentive. So I evened it out to four. Not crowded because it was like a Wednesday night. The vibe is very LES, moody velvet and vinyl seating, with red, gold, and light colored wood. I had the desert pearl, made with mezcal, amaro nonino, salt, and citrus. I also had the pink Cadillac, made with tequila, luxardo triplum, guava, agave, and lime. Cocktails were pretty good, with some trendy components. Mezcal, tequila, vodka, rum. Frozen margs and Pina coladas. Classics like the martini, spritz, espresso martini (I'm so tired of those). Overall, it's worth checking out once, especially if you can get in on a less crowded day, but there are other bars with more soul and a better vibe.

A great spot in LES to grab drinks, hang out, and chill with friends. The space is large, with two levels and plenty of seating for big groups. There are also pool tables for you to play at! Drinks here aren't bad and I love their espresso martinis.

This place is such a vibe! The cocktails were excellent, and I love the retro style -- it's unique and really adds to the atmosphere. There are two floors, both with pool tables, but I think the second floor is my favorite. The staff was super friendly, too. I'll definitely be back!

Stumbled upon this place for post-dinner drinks around 8pm and it was bustling, but absolutely loved the retro vibes! Especially appreciated the amount of seating available on the second floor - everything is spaced out nicely so you don't feel cramped.

The Ripple Room was a great time with really good energy throughout the night. I went upstairs for an event I was invited to and everything was set up well. There was an open bar with great drinks, some solid bites, and good music from a live vinyl DJ which really set the tone. The vibes were strong and the crowd made it even better. One funny and slightly chaotic detail was that the same bartender dropped six or seven glasses throughout the night. It was hard not to notice and a little wild to watch, but it did not take away from how fun the night was overall. I had a great time and would still highly recommend checking this place out.

If you're looking for a cool spot to grab drinks in the Lower East Side, definitely check out The Ripple Room. It's got a great vibe--kind of retro but still sleek and modern. The place has two floors, which is awesome because downstairs feels more chill and loungey, while upstairs turns into a bit more of a party later in the night. The cocktails are super creative (some really unexpected flavors in the mix), and they don't skimp on quality. You'll find unique drinks alongside some solid classics. Service is great too--bartenders are friendly, fast, and know what they're doing. The crowd is a nice mix--fun, stylish, but not overly pretentious. It gets lively but not in a way that feels overwhelming. Overall, The Ripple Room is a great spot whether you're starting the night or looking for a place to settle in for a while. It feels like one of those bars you'll end up coming back to--good drinks, good energy, good people.

Upstairs bar. Great spot. Amazing layout with tons of booths for a friendly and relaxed time.

Great vibes, really well designed floor plan with tons of booths. Two distinct vibes upstairs and downstairs. Great spot for a big group of friends. Fun music, good lighting, good drinks. Not as stuffy and pretentious as a lot of the cocktail bars in this neighborhood. Great spot for a casual and fun evening out.

Very nasty and rude bartender

It ended up being a nice spot for a casual catch-up, though with a few mixed impressions. The space itself is cute and very much feels like a neighborhood bar. One of the things we liked most was that they have games available--we ended up playing Scrabble while waiting for our friend to arrive, which made the time go by quickly and added to the relaxed vibe. Happy hour prices are solid, and the fried pickles we shared were decent. I also had a watermelon cocktail that was refreshing and perfectly fine, if not particularly memorable. Service was a bit inconsistent. The bartender wasn't very warm or welcoming to us initially, though that changed once our friend--who is a regular--arrived. Overall, it's a comfortable spot to meet friends and hang out for a few hours, especially on a weekday like Thursday. That said, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I can see why it works well as a local neighborhood hang.

Not too crowded, the wait for a pool table was about 30 minutes, enough for a quick round of shuffleboarding. The games are relatively cheap, and there's so much variety, ping pong and board games. The live jazz is really what sets this place apart from the other pool halls, starting around 7 pm with what seems like maybe the house band and I think they have guests later in the night. It's the perfect atmosphere, fun lighting, lots of grungy writing on the walls, good indie music from the 2010s before the jazz starts. Plus the spacing of the tables is good so you're not constantly bumping into other players, which is a pet peeve of mine. I'm sure it's busier later in the night but it's perfect for an early stop in the evening. Cheap drinks and good deals as well!

It's actually a legacy spot in disguise. This basement used to house Fat Cat, a longtime West Village institution that shut down right before the pandemic, and before that the room itself was a bowling alley, tucked into a 1932 Art Deco building a few steps from Stonewall. Drink selection isn't the draw here, don't come expecting a deep cocktail list. Crowd skews heavily undergrad, and the place is loud, so it's not the spot for an intimate one-on-one or a real group conversation. It's built for a different kind of hang: elbow your way to a table, keep your hands busy, let the noise do the rest. There's also live jazz most nights, which adds a nice layer if you catch it at the right time. Neat place, just know what you're walking into.

To be clear, Sip and Guzzle are two different establishments with two separate reservation systems, different set of cocktail offerings, and a completely different vibe. Guzzle is the loud, casual upstairs bar while Sip is the intimate, innovative bar downstairs. Sip is definitely the bar you want to get a reservation at, and you'll want to camp out on the reservation website the moment reservations open up for your desired date: reservation disappear in SECONDS. I've been to SG Club in Tokyo before and thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. After my recent visit to Sip, I am happy to report that Sip maintains the high standards of SG Club in terms of drink offerings, as well as service. Between my wife and I, we tried out five cocktails including the (famous) tomato tree, jamon & cheese, strawberry hotpot, satsuma creamsickle, and their yakitini. Words cannot describe how creative, unique and funky each of these drinks tasted. Each cocktail had layers upon layers of flavors, and the complexity was seriously next level. I can't even imagine how many iterations the bartenders must have experimented with to create each one of these cocktails. The menu can feel overwhelming because of how many incredible sounding cocktails there are, but if at any point you're stuck deciding between a few, I would advise you to ask your server, as they'll be more than happy to provide a recommendation or two. Unfortunately, since we had just came from dinner, we were too full to try any of the bar's food offerings. That said, you can order all the food you can order at Guzzle upstairs, plus two additional exclusive offerings -- a grilled lobster and a charcoal grilled pork skewer. If there's one bar you have to check out while visiting New York, you definitely need to check out Sip.
