Hot Honey Wing dinner with collard greens and Mac n cheese
B L.

I've been here a couple of times and the food does not disappoint. The service is great and the wait time to get your food is not that long. The staff is friendly and very attentive and willing to explain the menu to you. The few times I've been in there. It hasn't really been too busy so finding a place to sit is not that difficult. If you're in the area is worth a stop.

Very bad fried chicken
Ryan B.

Had a really disappointing visit last week. The chicken was extremely dry (wife said it tasted like made yesterday) and the bone-in pieces were tiny. I would have been disappointed if this was from the grocery hot bar, but especially from a place specializing in fried chicken. Collard greens were also gritty like it wasn't washed. Mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese were serviceable. I contacted crispy coop last week to let them know my experience, but they didn't respond. Will be my last time going to dine w them.

2piece dark, with a side of Mac and cheese

So today I was able to stop and enjoy The Crispy Coop. I started with the 2Pc. dark with a side of Mac and cheese. I went with the heat level of Tennessee Hot, it was a very mild heat, next time I'll kick it up a bit. The Mac and cheese was very good from earlier pictures I saw I thought it might have been boxed. Was I ever wrong this was homemade and had a great taste to it. Next was the chicken and waffles which were very delicious. The waffles were lite and fluffy, and the chicken strip were juicy and very crisp. A friend at the table had ordered the greens and I was able to try these, next time I want my own, sorry the picture doesn't reflect the serving size she gave me just a few bites. The service was extremely good and everyone was very friendly. Next time you want some great fried chicken stop in here, you'll be glad you did.

Second time ordering The Crispy Coop but with Doordash. The first time was my birthday during the Pandemic. I had the 4-piece Fried Chicken dinner drizzling with Ohio Hot Honey with Texas Potatoes and Mac & Cheese. The Coca-Cola Red Velvet Cake was extremely delicious and yummy. I will have to go to the restaurant and eat there one day.

I love fried chicken and this place gives me my fix. I love that they serve Jo Jo potatoes (like in Akron ,Oh) and their collard greens are fantastic too. My husband loves their tenders and slaw!

Stopped in for lunch during a work training. We arrived around 11:40 and just beat the lunch crowd. I ordered the 6 piece wing dinner (Nashville hot) with greens and coleslaw. The chicken was fried perfectly. The Nashville hot isn't really hot but had a good flavor. The greens had ham and we're good. The slaw is mayonnaise based, it was a little different than what I was expecting. It was loaded with kale and cabbage. It wasn't bad but not for me. I would visit again if I'm in the area.

Chicken Sandwich, Mac and Cheese, Corn Bread, Texas Potatoes, Greens

Got CC for dinner tonight (ordered via DoorDash for pickup). Everything was hot and fresh. Chicken was crispy and juicy. It was ready for pickup in just a short time, too! I say it every time, but these collared greens might be my favorite side dish of all time. They're THAT good! Nashville hot is the perfect heat level too. It's a mild heat to me (I love hot!) Perfect with a little honey! Happy I tried a kids meal this time. They have the biggest portions!! Sorry no updated pics but we just had the same -- chicken fingers with greens. It's hard not to stick to my faves but that half chicken meal is next for me!

Relocated from Houston so my expectations for food especially soul food and southern comfort food are high, but this place is AMAZING!! The collard greens were one of the best I've ever had!

Chicken Tenders, Texas Potatoes, and Mac & Cheese
Kyle B.

Honestly, I'm very disappointed in this restaurant given their high rating. It was being raved about on Yelp, but I don't see the appeal or the justification for the high scores. The service was acceptable and it's nice that they cook the chicken to order. In addition, the restaurant was overall clean and there were some TVs. However, that was about the extent of the good things I have to say. The tenders were just okay, nothing spectacular, and the sauce was not my cup of tea. It smelled okay, but didn't jive with the chicken or really anything. I asked for another sauce to try, the Arizona ranch, which cost $0.50, and was equally as disappointing. As for the Texas potatoes, they were...weird. Jonos are usually more like potato wedges, but these were basically 1/4 of a potato in a tasteless breading. The mac & cheese was good, nothing to write home about, but definitely the best part of the meal. Finally, the strawberry honey bun cake, which was basically a strawberry infused coffee cake and the flavors didn't mix well, to me. If you want my opinion, there's a Cane's five minutes from this place and you can get two box combos for what I paid for this meal. Overall, this'll be my first and last time visiting.

A wonderful visit. I was told a lot about this place from a friend at work, and it lived up to the hype. The chicken wings were delicious and actually had a strong kick to it for being mild. The guy who works there said the hot is crazy hot and will make you cry if you're not used to hot foods. I will definitely be back to try the chicken and waffle. It's worth the visit.

Picked up food for my dad's birthday. I walked in and placed my order. I was told the food would be ready in 8 to 10 minutes, and received my order within that time. For my dad I ordered the Dark Meat Dinner with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, and Corn Bread. I went with the Tennessee Mild spice on the chicken. My dad really liked the chicken, stating it had the right amount of spice. On my order I went with Chicken Tender Dinner with Texas Potatoes and Corn Bread. I went with traditional for the chicken. The tenders were okay but nothing special. I also was not crazy about the Texas Potatoes, but I really liked the Corn Bread. Will try ordering different items if I visit in the future.

Over the years ordering has gone from calling and placing the order with someone from the restaurant, to just going online and doing it. It's so simple and easy! One of the things that keeps us coming back again and again is the convenience. Over a 15 year time span, I think they have messed up our order maybe 3 times. Not a bad record considering how busy they are all the time. Also, our food is always ready when we arrive. We never have to wait on it and the waitress checks the order before we leave. As for the food, it's always consistently delicious. Their wings, pizzas, subs, quesadillas, burgers, dumpster fries, all fantastic. We always have leftovers and we are never disappointed with our visit. We avoid eating inside mainly because this location, like pretty much every Rooster's location, is always packed. It's a small restaurant with limited tables, so there is usually a wait time. And the parking here is atrocious. They have a small lot for about seven cars and if you miss out on those spots, you have to drive around looking for street parking. Not ideal! As for my hubby and I, we will continue to order from them every Friday, probably until the end of time. The pros far outweigh the cons, so if you are in the mood for delicious food and a lively atmosphere, this is the place to visit!!

They brought a collection of sauces to the table, but you don't really need any. So so good. I got wings too, because they looked good. They were out of one of the sauces I wanted, because they make the sauces from scratch. And the one I wanted, had raspberries in it and it's not raspberry season. I went with spicy peach, not very spicy, but very flavorful. Very peachy. The wings were meaty, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. 6 of them and 6 kraut balls was plenty for me for lunch. Service was excellent. Prices are pretty darn good. The place was cozy. It was not at all busy at two on a weekday afternoon. It gets busy at peak, of course. I will keep it in mind since I am in the area more.
