I had no idea the delights that awaited me inside! I have driven past this little secret on Brownsville Rd across from the Brentwood Town Square I frequent weekly. I am so thankful that our dear friends invites us for a Saturday breakfast date and I was finally introduced to this great spot! My partner and I visited for an attempted quick bite. Don't come here if that's what you're looking for. We were here for almost 2 hours in total. My meal was mostly delicious. If you make it here, get the cheesy potatoes. The bacon was a disappointment. It was a dried husk compared to the beautiful thick cut bacon pictured in the photos. My partner's "over medium" eggs were incredibly runny, and his pancakes were like stiff Frisbee. Not a big breakfast person and anytime anyone asks me to go to breakfast with them I always hope it's late in the morning so there's a chance I can order lunch food without being judged. So I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed with the menu as there were many unique options. Everything sounded so good and I had the hardest time making my decision. I ended up getting the Olive Oyl omelette that had Feta Cheese, Spinach, Tomato, Red Onion & Kalamata Olives. No lie, it was the best omelette I've ever had in my life. Every bite was so flavorful and they were certainly not skimpy with any of the ingredients. It was such a beautiful day outside when we went and wanted to soak up every minute we could of the weather so decided to sit outside. We went to the Crack'd Egg on Saturday July 25,20 NOT one employee was wearing a mask, NOT the wait staff nor any of the kitchen workers. The place had a lot of customers in the inside dining area and everyone was spaced out just like the mandate requires. I asked the waitress about no employees wearing masks she told me the owner doesn't require them to wear one. We should have got up and left, but sad to say we didn't. Now hoping and praying we don't get sick with Covid-19 for our foolish mistake of not leaving. It's very upsetting and sad that there's so many people out there just disregarding the mandate and putting everyone they come in contact with in danger, then they wonder why the governor keeps shutting down restaurants and bars. I say if you don't want to fallow the rules to keep you, your loved ones and the world safe then PLEASE DON'T OPEN YOUR DOORS!! To many selfish people out there. Because of this we won't be back till the pandemic is over or maybe not ever, which is a shame the place has good food, is kid friendly and the service for the most part is good (once in awhile you get that one bad egg in the group) put for the most part the staff is good and friendly. They do however need the be trained on how to use gloves properly. I hope the owner changes his ways soon before someone gets sick and dies. I gave one star because no one was wearing a mask. Love the selection and the various one of a kind breakfast choices. We found the corned beef hash to be mashed potatoes with some corned beef in them, we like a lot less potato and crispy "flattish" ones. The waffles are very tasty. Just across street from my coffee latte found store, I see this. So..carrot cake looks great as I walk in. Clerk seating me says oh yes and made here in house. That i'm having now. I have been here many times and not been disappointed, a different story today. I ordered eggs Benedict which I have had several times and enjoyed. The menu says smothered with hollandais sauce, it was actually a spoonful across the center. I asked for a little more and had a feeling I was going to be charged extra. The woman across from me asked for extra as well. There was no check to review but a verbal of my total, I asked for a receipt but told I would get it after payment. I did ask if I was charged for the extra sauce and I was. BTW the sauce was made with vinegar not lemon. One small piece of bread spread very thinly with unseasoned avocado & two poached eggs. I asked for Hollandaise sauce and had the privilege of paying extra for it! We recently bought a business nearby and have been making early trips in, so this has become a regular spot for us. I've had the typical eggs bacon toast potato breakfast, the chicken fingers and gravy breakfast, the pecan praline pancakes...and who knows what else, but those are my faves. Breakfast is hot! And not the kind of hot where the plates sit under heat lamps and wait for their server- but fresh hot! The service is genuinely friendly- like they really look pleasant and treat their customers like regulars. Even when we weren't at first. I like sitting at the counter when it's my husband and I because the staff is so sweet to be around. But when they kids are with us, every table or booth is a good spot and they really treat our kids well. Oh and consistent is another word I would use. Always good food, solid service and an organized hostess. The bacon costumes help too ;) read more

I've been twice, a Sunday each time. The menu is scaled down on Sundays, which is something I personally dislike. I feel Saturday and Sunday is your prime chance to pump out your best dishes, not the b class to save time. Each time I went, I felt very rushed, despite the restaurant not appearing busy. This is very annoying to the point where you are asked if you have decided 3-4 times within two minutes of sitting down. Maybe this is a tactic to rush people before they have a chance to realize nothing amazing is on the menu. Each time, I have ordered a coffee - each time, the cup had old coffee stains on it which is disgusting. Onto the food: I have tried the breakfast pizza, which sounds like a light, fresh spin on breakfast. However, this dish was LOADED with olives and easily became overly salty. I actually felt a tad sick afterwards. The second visit order was the chicken/ egg dish. You get two small chicken fingers that seemed just a tad overlooked. The marble rye toast and eggs were good enough. My main complaint with this order was with the side of "potato pancakes". They were smaller version of McDonald's hashbrowns.... Nowhere near what a potato pancake is supposed to be. They should just call them hashbrowns. A friend ordered the cracked Arnold- they rated it mediocre. This place could be good if the had better menus on Sundays and focused on improving their service and cleanliness. Save yourself the disappointment and head to J. Ts diner a few doors down. The food was good and reasonably priced but the portions were small in my opinion. I had the caprese benedict and it was just poached eggs on top of tomato slices. Still could have used an English muffin or something with it because there was nothing to soak up the egg and hollandaise with. So the only reason this place doesn't get one star is because the food and the decor is actually pretty good. However after that it goes way down hill faster. Today was our third time here and the service continues to get worse & worse. Our server today Jules was the epitome of atrocious. If I was dying of thirst, I would of shriveled up and died. I got one refill of water after begging for it. She never took our waters from our table to refill. Then my wife asked for more sriracha honey sauce for her chicken & waffles, Jules never brought it. It seemed like she was avoiding us for some reason. I'm not quite sure how this place works, but It doesn't seem like the servers have sections. Jules had tables outside, two tables right by the bar and tables in the back of the restaurant. How can a server possible be all over the restaurant and give good service. And to recall our last visit I ordered a dish with a poached egg and it was hard inside. The server told me I was wrong and that's the way the egg was suppose to be. Well obviously she doesn't know what a poached egg is. How can you work at a bfast joint and not know what a poached eggs. The manager that day gave me 10% off my entree. Just tried The Crack'd Egg diner this morning for breakfast and it's easily a new favorite. The place has a very cute set up and is extremely clean! They have a huge menu with so many options of not only breakfast items but lunch items as well. I've been to other breakfast places that are so busy and filled up it's a little intimidating! It wasn't all that busy today, but they of course have a good turn out for a newer diner! The price is very reasonable and the food is very fresh! This is a great add to Brownsville road! I know the owner personally, and she's such a nice person. I've eaten at the Crack'd Egg several times, and the food I had was good in my opinion. People should keep their reviews related to the food and service, not the staff's political views. Just because people don't agree with the restaurant's political stance doesn't give them the right to leave false negative reviews on the restaurant's page. I may not agree with Kimberly on some issues, but I still think she's a sweet person and that her restaurant was always clean when I visited there. For those of you saying that she and her staff don't care about customer's safety, Kimberly actually DID follow the CDC's guidelines at first but then found out it was garbage and that the people in charge were using the coronavirus "pandemic" as a power grab. While Kimberly and some of her friends can be far-right wing in their political views, her food and service have NOTHING to do with her views. read more

The menu had a lot of variety so theres something on there for everyone. Excellent breakfast spot. Extremely clean and surprisingly spacious. The quality of the food was evident. Eggs cooked perfectly (over easy for me and scrambled for the mrs). Great meat options (bacon was the star but ham v good as well). Breadworks bread is always a plus. Strong/tasty coffee and they kept it coming. Pancakes were good but not a highlight for me. Maybe a little too fluffy if that's possible? If anything only complaint was too much food but that's a kind of problem I like to have ("release the cracking" is an enormous meal). Had some nice things for kids as well (balloons, water table in small outdoor area). Really enjoyed our first visit here and will definitely be back. read more
