The dinner here was excellent. The corn fritters are awesome (hot and delicious). The shrimp bowl (we had 3 of them) were also delicious (shrimp, andouille sausage, corn cob, butter, potatoes and bay seasoning). The best in Daytona Beach. Crab Stop II is located in an old IHOP in Daytona. Not much to look at on the outside, or the inside for that matter. Still though, there are good things going on in the kitchen. The portions here are decent for the prices and the seafood is fresh. We had a blue crab boil on this visit. About 16 blue crabs, corn and potatoes in a garlic sauce for about $50. We also had a fried catfish sandwich which was impeccable. The food was awesome. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the service was average and the venue itself was a little run down. If you want fantastic and fresh seafood with good portions at reasonable pricing, the Crab Stop II is a great place to stop while visiting Daytona. read more

Do not let this deter you the food and service are incredible!! We have been coming here for over 3 years. Tonight no difference it was incredible. I have been going to this place since the MLK spot I personally miss that one the most however this one is just as great. Cute family oriented place to take the family or for date nights, love the seafood vibe it has going. The food is amazing my all time favorite is the seafood rice. I absolutely love the staff and the cooks everyone is super friendly I have never had a bad interaction there. Will always return and suggest everyone try this place out if they haven't done so. This may be a little harsh, to give them three stars instead of four, because the food was basically fine. I think we might not have ordered their best dishes and it was a little late on a Saturday evening, so maybe they were out of some items and just hoping to close. I normally don't drink wine, but I had a desire for some there. They had several on the menu, but the waitress thought they were out of most of them. She didn't really know what they had, she didn't mention that she might go check what they have, But I didn't really care so I just said bring whatever you have. They were also out of some of the crab styles, which is pretty drastic for a place with crab in the name I ended up getting a couple of blue crabs and they were indeed tasty although anybody knows they are hard to get the meat out of. Can't complain about that dish, however. My wife got the crabcakes, and we figured for the low price that they couldn't be that full of actual crab meat, and we were correct. It was largely filler and she said even that taste wasn't so great. Service was rather slow through throughout the evening. Friendly, but just slow and didn't check back very often. At first, they delivered the wrong items, and even though we corrected them immediately and they got things correct, when the bill came, it had the incorrect items still listed. If I went back there, I would stick to the fried dishes and I think I would be much happier. read more

Unfortunately, as soon as we walked in, we couldn't help but think that the restaurant could use some major sprucing up. Our server was very nice and the menu was great with lots of choices, but the food was just average. The crab cakes were the thinnest we ever had. It's possible that had we ordered other crab dishes we would have been more pleased. With so many seafood restaurants in the area, I'm not sure if we'll be back to this one. The potatoes were tender and very well seasoned. The shrimp was absolutely delicious. We had a big three combo which will run you about $87 And includes crab legs, blue crab, and shrimp and potatoes. We also added three eggs from an additional $2.50x The waitress was nice, but not so attentive and I had to get her attention a few times to get refills on drinks. They were busy but seated us and several other parties of different sizes quickly. The staff was hustling and doing their best to collect orders and serve drinks and food. We ordered a shrimp basket along with an order of crab cakes. Since it was our first time we ordered one deep fried in the shell and the other grilled. Both were very good, but we preferred the deep fried in the shell. The sides were red potatoes and coke slaw. Everything had a nice flavor and good portions. The restaurant is built on same floor plan as the original I-hop that occupied this building many years ago and works very well for their business model. Lots of take out orders while we were seated. The boil was awful we ordered the Dungeness crab boil. The crab was not cooked it was cold. Hubby had to flag our server he told the server & she took it back unhappy. We had a unique experience at The Crab Stop II this afternoon. Yes the establishment is older and not fancy. But our food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Hubby's fried jumbo shrimp with fries and coleslaw was very tasty and plentiful. Wife's seafood rice was amazing and the flavor, better than amazing.
