'No shoes, no shirt' is not applicable to this Venice local morning haunt. Acai bowls, sandwiches, bagels, pastries, coffee, matcha. They offer anything you could want pre-2pm. I like the vibe in here, I think there's a quieter study spot upstairs, but tables outside and some limited bar seating inside. I particularly like the open windows. The line and food service moved fairly quickly. The pastries were just ok, hence the 4 stars. I've had better, lighter, moister croissants and scones. The iced strawberry matcha was a bit too syrup-y, but nonetheless delicious. This spot is very reasonably priced by California standards and on a great street to walk around.

Cruising up Washington Street toward the Pacific (American?) Ocean, I spy a coffee shop with a half-dozen or so men of a certain age (viz. old) sitting outside. Thus, "The Old Guys Rule" is invoked. In we go. Busy, busy, busy. Good local vibe. The barista keeps the line moving. Coffee is very good. Pastries were just ok. The prepared burritos and açaí bowl looked good.

Adequate breakfast place. I had a wrap, my wife had a chocolate croissant, plus a very large coffee with milk for her and organic Earl Grey tea for me

Came here one Sunday on the earlier side for breakfast. A small, cramped ordering area with any bottled/canned drinks in the back. The guy at the counter taking orders came off a bit gruff at first, but quickly softened and recommended the avocado/egg-white toast. Seating's non-managed, so I just grabbed a table (alas, I had a family at the table behind me with a screaming toddler yelling in my ear the whole time, ugh). After a while I went back inside to see if they had my order ready, which they did. Food was good, but not that memorable (for breakfast you won't soon forget, I highly recommend Eggslut up the road!). Ate my food quickly and boogied outta there wishing I'd gone to Eggslut instead. :-(

Popular coffee pot on Washington in Venice Beach with a casual vibe with lots of locals. Picture a lot of gen x surfers, bare feet, dogs and a smattering of tourists. Coffee is decent, pastries subpar, but prepared food (bagels, sandwiches and salad) looked good.

We stopped here for brunch while renting bikes, and it was the perfect little spot to take a break. The area is super cute, though very busy, so expect some crowds. I got the Venice smoothie--it was good, but nothing mind-blowing. My date, on the other hand, got a bagel sandwich, and wow it was amazing! The bagel was huge, fluffy, and just perfect. Definitely had some food envy! Overall, a great brunch stop, especially if you're in the area and looking for something casual but tasty. I'd come back and try a bagel for myself next time!

Had a delicious iced mango matcha latte and sat inside the treehouse like space admiring the pothos growth crawling around the space. It's very quirky, with multiple levels and kind staff. Went right to the beach after!

We go here before our walks at Venice all the time. For my fiancé, it's one of her favorite strawberry matchas. For me, one of my favorite iced vanilla latte's. They also have a great assortment of baked goods. I got a sugar free churro donut and it was amazing. Highly recommend trying it if you're on the sugar free wave!

    Great coffee! Great service!

June 2024 | Venice Beach: The Cow's End Cafe is a neighborhood favorite! My favorites are the colorful açai bowls, croissants, smoothies & the Thai Tuna Wrap! Open every day from 6 AM to 6 PM! Plenty of seating, inside, upstairs & outside! Local: Walked over, as it's a hop skip & a jump away! I wanted to eat local for the 1st day of Summer! It's fun to sit, eat & people watch! After all these years, today is the first day that I sat at the wide open window, which is pretty cool! Seating is upstairs, downstairs, outside and even on the extended patio! Note: I've been eating at The Cow's End before I even moved to Venice Beach & used to walk over from a friend's house and get the delicious Thai Tuna Wrap, as it's my favorite! Smiles Are Us: Friendly customer service with a smile, even when this place gets super busy! Overall: Charming place where you will see locals, experience friendly service, a variety of yummy food; something for everyone, plenty of seating & great place to people watch! Afterwards, why not head over to the beach, which is just a few steps away! Fun!

Worst acai bowl I've ever had. We could barely get through half and ended up throwing the rest away.

Let's just say it's hands-down the best latte I've ever had. Perfect balance, amazing flavor notes, and one of those drinks that makes you stop and appreciate how good coffee can actually be. The atmosphere is just as great as the coffee. There are games to play, cozy corners to hang out in, and little hidden gems throughout the shop if you're paying attention. It's the kind of place where you can grab a drink and end up staying way longer than you planned. A true Venice classic and still one of the best coffee spots I've ever been to.
