Another one of these Indian run down restaurants. Food is mediocre if u like gas and bloat feeling after eating. The place is run down and tiles falling off the walls going down the basement and all. It's not bad but just typical rundown and money not put into repairs but in the owners pockets. I think the simple days of cooking home has taken a back seat and people have been accustomed to eating outside not knowing what and who made it and what the aftermath is. I knew the previous north indians who owned it and now it's someone new again. This review is for take-out (only) from their restaurant. 2.5 - 3 Stars. We order from their restaurant at least 4x/month. Food is good, not too oily, which we appreciate, but they have some stiff competition in Hicksville. Unfortunately, their take-out service is unreliable for timing. I always call well in advance to place my order. Half the time we go to pick up (Usually before my work shift, so I'm rushing in/out), I'm waiting an additional 10 minutes just to pay/receive my order (with only 1-2 tables with customers). Today, called for a standard order, quoted 20 minutes. Arrived 1 hour later --No food packed, was told twice that the food 'was ready' but it never came, waited for 15min in an empty restaurant before letting one of the staff know I was canceling the order. Even more than the time issue, at this point, didn't really feel comfortable that they had made my order vs. giving me something else. Really disappointed in this service because this is not the first time. Would not recommend for take out. read more

I had the paneer masala for $11 and it was super delicious. Basically it's masala tomato butter sauce withchunks of paneer cheese. Great vegetarian option, even if you're not vegetarian! My friends got two different types of biryani. It was pretty expensive biryani for $17 but the portion was GINORMOUS like a mountain of rice which they said was tasty as well. I have to take a star off for the fact their service is slower than waiting for paint on a wall to dry. ..kidding, but it really felt like that since it took definitely over 40 minutes to get our food out... and there were NO OTHER CUSTOMERS EXCEPT ANOTHER TABLE OF TWO. Oh my gosh I was dying but luckily their food was good or else it would have been a terrible experience. .. Overall food is a little pricy but at least it's good. Went to this place a couple of weeks ago (forgot to leave a review) and it was fantastic! My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken tikka, mango chicken vegetable rice, spring rolls and garlic naan.There was so much flavor in everything we ate that we couldn't get enough, we definitely over ate but it was so worth it.The portions are bIg and we had leftovers for two days afterwards. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant when we are back in the area since we live in Suffolk county. We might just end up making a trip just to go there that's how good it was! read more

Simply put, do not make a reservation here for any large event. My mother reserved the lower space for my wife's baby blessing, expecting about 100 guests. Unfortunately my beloved mother passed away a few weeks ago. We obviously could not go through with the event and gave the Cotillion notice a month in advance. When calling to cancel, we received a very shrewd sympathy followed by a quick unprompted reminder that our deposit could not be refunded (but could be used as credit within 9 months). We could care less about the money nor ever having an event there. But to dismiss our loss and cancellation as a simple matter of business is not a healthy way to operate. It's blood money at this point. Shame on you Cotillion. I hope anyone planning a special event at the Cotillion reads this review prior to booking. You deserve a catering hall that is equally invested in making sure you and your guests are provided for versus being treated like a line item on their balance sheet. Disgusting. read more

I've been passing this place for years and have always been confused and admittedly a bit scared to enter (assumed it was attached to the motel next door; spoiler: it's not). My family loves Indian, and I love Asian Fusion, so last time I was back home I suggested we give it a try. We pulled in and after years of wondering, I finally realized that the restaurant is completely separate from the "motor lodge" (immediately scored some points for that in my head). However, the parking lot was completely empty... we only knew the place was actually open because there was a delivery man getting into a car with bags of food. In their defense, it was 8pm on a Wednesday... The service was good. The waiter answered our questions well and not in a condescending manner, which I really appreciated. The food was good, too. I'm not the biggest fan of Indian cuisine, so I really enjoyed their chicken & broccoli dish (however, the broccoli was sparse), which tasted to be more on the Thai side. The Naan was better than average. Overall, I'd say all the Indian dishes I sampled were good- Loved the chicken tikka masala. Channa masala was good too. The chilli chicken with gravy had a great flavor but was a bit spicy for my taste. I'm not rushing to go back, but I'm sure I will soon and I look forward to trying more of the fusion dishes. I was very tempted by the Chicken Vindaloo, looking at my blonde hair my server asked me if I was good with spices and I am NOT, so she kindly suggested that it might not be a perfect choice for me, and she refused to make it mild, as she told it would not be Vindaloo if I take away a spices from it.(Loved her answer) . This was my 2nd bad experience at Cotillion. The first one: We had birthday party in summer. The air conditioner was broken and the floor was so slippery due to humidity, we c'd not even walk. It was a total fiasco among friends. Our 2nd experience: Yesterday on April 8, 2017 we had funeral lunch at 12 noon. When we arrived at 12 noon the hall was not even ready. There were two customers still eating in the hall. No place for waiting room. We ordered for 25 to 35 people. Only two tables with 4 chairs were available. We were promised for 3 dishes of vegetables and chicken tika with nan daal and rice, The food was not enough. every other minute we had to request for food. some times no one was available to listen our complain. He did chrge us for 46 people and the service was for less than 20 people. We hope this was our last visit at Cotillion. read more
