Admittedly it was more than I thought it would be but custom framing has a way of doing that any where you go. Our piece is really large and with the mat and frame, it turned out to be a huge piece. Perfect to fill in the wall we were hanging it on. The customer service was awesome and I love that they support Pride month and Black Lives Matter. I actually found The Corner Custom Framing and saw Yelp reviews and decided to give them a try!! Let me first start by sharing the emotional attachment I have to this painting. I didn't want it out of my possession since I got it back in my life, it's a painting of my grandparents, in front of our home, in Northern Spain. It's been thru hell, within millimeters of being shredded - so I was a bit hesitant to just "leave it"... But so glad I did!! Alison helped me, she asked about the painting, I didn't go into the full dissertation about it, and not knowing what I wanted, nor do I have artistic fiber in my being - she guided us with various options, colors, materials, and explained options - it was very enlightening. We made our decision and walked away. About 4 weeks later (the estimate was spot on), I got the call it was ready. It was beyond what I expected. It's proudly hanging back no our wall!! Eddy and his team put together a somewhat complex framing job for me about 4 years ago - 25 vintage hotel labels each within their own "box" in a large frame. They did an amazing job and the attention to detail to make the individual labels each pop was amazing. I liked it so much and got so many compliments on it I decided recently to have 2 more done, 1 for me and 1 as a gift. After 4 years they still had the details from the previous job, and Eddy contacted me during production with a few questions to ensure they got everything 100% right. They did and again did an A+ job. It's increasingly rare that businesses pay so much attention to getting a job right, especially for relatively small projects. If you live in North Denver, don't even think of going anywhere else to have something framed. I was looking for a place to have a poster framed for my grand son. I did not want to spend a boat-load of money - yes, I love my grand son more that life itself but he is only one year old after all and would not really appreciate and $500 frame. Anyway, Eddy from The Corner Custom Framing took care of everything. He suggested several frames that wouldn't break the bank but that looked great with the piece. He literally has hundreds of frame sample in his shop and he went directly to a particular frame (which I would never have seen) that was absolutely perfect because it matched the "theme" of the poster. I on the other hand would have chosen a boring white or black mat frame because I didn't imagine other possibilities. Eddy then explained the glass options and made a recommendation which I agreed with. He then asked when I needed the piece and committed to have it ready three days earlier than the date I needed it. So far I was having a really great experience, not only because I'm clearly dealing with someone who knows what he's doing but because he clearly loves his craft, and appreciates his customers. Lastly, Eddy suggests that I give him my email address so that he can send me a photo of the finished framed product - that way he could gift wrap it for me (complimentary, of course). He hit it out of the park at this point (sorry for the sports analogy). On the day promised, I received an email from Eddy with a photo attached of the framed posted - it looked perfect. When I went in to pick it up, I was presented with a beautifully wrapped package. I even got a hug from Eddy. A cloud may create a thousand raindrops as a picture may speak a thousand words- but the thing that draws attention to the cloud- gives it a sense of uniqueness, character and individuality is not what it is made up of, but the silver lining that appears... proving how somethings so massive as a cloud could take credit for a characteristic that only makes up for 5 % of what it truly is ..the same goes with a picture... perhaps the thousand words I want my picture to speak are not being heard clearly- or on the other hand, I want the thousand words my pic could speak to be challenging for another to hear... both examples is where a frame comes in.. as a frame could compliment, it can be subtle, it can overwhelm and distract.. much like my previous example using the cloud and the silver lining - a frame has much more control in how we process, interperate, and value a " big picture" ... which is why I'm so glad I went to a private business and had Eddie do the honor of framing a present for my dad over this past holiday season. The beauty of going to a professsional verses some who's maybe working at a chain store is like night and day.. with Eddie, this isn't just a service job this is what he does .. and he's good at it .. I didn't have to study up on framing to direct him the way I wanted it done - I simply handed him the picture .. and I knew it was going to be done right.. and possess of end result that was awesome.. it's important to ask yourself- would I want the thousand words my picture could speak to be of quality - or would I rather them be weak and almost mumbling sounding. This place is expensive... BUT you get what you pay for. Eddy is super nice and knowledgeable about his trade. I bought a painting overseas and it needed to be re-stretched over a wood frame. They did this and also retouched the sides, gave a high quality backing and hanging materials. The final product was beautiful! The original timeframe was 1 month, but I got it back in about 2 weeks. I would go back for any high end piece that needs work. There only about 3 parking spots, but normally there's a space available, so not a big deal. They also sell unique frames and some artwork. Allison was so helpful, showing us different options until we found the one that was perfect. Eddy framed the picture and I have to say he is a perfectionist. It came out even more gorgeous than we thought. Then Edy helped us with 2 new framed mirrors for our bathroom. He did a wonderful job installing them.
