Star frame for star chart poster.
    Tracie B.

If you live in North Denver, don't even think of going anywhere else to have something framed. I was looking for a place to have a poster framed for my grand son. I did not want to spend a boat-load of money - yes, I love my grand son more that life itself but he is only one year old after all and would not really appreciate and $500 frame. Anyway, Eddy from The Corner Custom Framing took care of everything. He suggested several frames that wouldn't break the bank but that looked great with the piece. He literally has hundreds of frame sample in his shop and he went directly to a particular frame (which I would never have seen) that was absolutely perfect because it matched the "theme" of the poster. I on the other hand would have chosen a boring white or black mat frame because I didn't imagine other possibilities. Eddy then explained the glass options and made a recommendation which I agreed with. He then asked when I needed the piece and committed to have it ready three days earlier than the date I needed it. So far I was having a really great experience, not only because I'm clearly dealing with someone who knows what he's doing but because he clearly loves his craft, and appreciates his customers. Lastly, Eddy suggests that I give him my email address so that he can send me a photo of the finished framed product - that way he could gift wrap it for me (complimentary, of course). He hit it out of the park at this point (sorry for the sports analogy). On the day promised, I received an email from Eddy with a photo attached of the framed posted - it looked perfect. When I went in to pick it up, I was presented with a beautifully wrapped package. I even got a hug from Eddy. So friendly, so competent, so professional, so committed to providing every customer with a unique and special customer experience. Oh - and they have a parking lot too. Just the best!

I am relatively new the Denver area and so did not have a "go to" frame store. I am so glad that I visited The Corner Custom Framing. They had tons of frame options and also, importantly, had opinions! They knew the right size and color to make the matte around the poster. It is a bit pricey (as is most custom framing) but well worth the price for the high quality end result. I will be back!

Yes Mr Eddy is the best!! I took my homemade collage of my children and grandchildren to be framed and he did an excellent job at a reasonable price I will go there again and recommend The Corner to friends and family

I've used The Corner Custom Framing for at least 10 art pieces over the last few years and in every frame, I'm thrilled with the work Eddie and his team perform. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Framing can get expensive, but Eddie always works to stay in my budget. And the end results speak for themselves.

A cloud may create a thousand raindrops as a picture may speak a thousand words- but the thing that draws attention to the cloud- gives it a sense of uniqueness, character and individuality is not what it is made up of, but the silver lining that appears... proving how somethings so massive as a cloud could take credit for a characteristic that only makes up for 5 % of what it truly is ..the same goes with a picture... perhaps the thousand words I want my picture to speak are not being heard clearly- or on the other hand, I want the thousand words my pic could speak to be challenging for another to hear... both examples is where a frame comes in.. as a frame could compliment, it can be subtle, it can overwhelm and distract.. much like my previous example using the cloud and the silver lining - a frame has much more control in how we process, interperate, and value a " big picture" ... which is why I'm so glad I went to a private business and had Eddie do the honor of framing a present for my dad over this past holiday season. The beauty of going to a professsional verses some who's maybe working at a chain store is like night and day.. with Eddie, this isn't just a service job this is what he does .. and he's good at it .. I didn't have to study up on framing to direct him the way I wanted it done - I simply handed him the picture .. and I knew it was going to be done right.. and possess of end result that was awesome.. it's important to ask yourself- would I want the thousand words my picture could speak to be of quality - or would I rather them be weak and almost mumbling sounding. I'm extremely pleased with the service I received from Eddie. When you get good quality service .. it's important to appreciate how you didn't " short change" yourself by going elsewhere... when you receive poor service is when price may become a real issue . I feel it's important to not mix or confuse the two.. and on that note .. a final thank you for making my gift to my dad amazing and for the service at such a great price!! Your the best!!

Used to like this place, but now it's just become a no-go. They look like they have a lot of stuff,…read morebut every time I go, they're out of whatever I went there for --- usually several things, as I always go with a list, since it's a bit of a drive for me. Their watercolor brush selection is quite skimpy; they never seem to have the size I need or type I want, and even weeks later they still don't have that size/type in stock. Same for specific watercolors. They have an entire display of Daniel Smith watercolors, yet the very color I need, they're out of. One day one of the staff spent 15 minutes checking all the other brands to see if they had that color in *any* other brand -- nope. And it was a common color like Prussian blue. Watercolor sketchbooks? Unless you like blocks (which I personally can't stand), you won't find much. A small display of Hand-book sketchbooks, which are mostly for drawing and not watercolor. The watercolor ones are 200gsm, not 300gsm. (Which I was able to order from Amazon for the same price as Meininger was charging for the 200gsm.) Drawing pens? You're in luck if you do manga. If you use probably the most popular brand, Uni-Pin fineliner, forget it. They don't even sell them. (They seem to prefer Sigma Microns.) Watercolor pencils? Sure, if you want the really large expensive sets. If you want to try them out with a set of 24 Goldfaber Aquas, nope. Art storage? Slim pickings. A few zippered pouches. The dollar store has a better selection. Overall, they're out of whatever I need when I need it, and they won't be getting in anytime soon. Sometimes they can get stuff sent from their CO Springs location, but that means a second trip back to the store, when I only wanted to drive there once. (The neighborhood is awful.) Also, their website is very hit or miss, and *won't* tell you if they have something in stock in the store. Sometimes you put in a search term that will return "no item found" when I know for a fact they sell that item in the store. Go do a search for "Lamy Safari" and you'll see what I mean. They have a selection of Lamy Safari pens in the store, but only converters and lead refills on their website. Prices are high, sometimes by $10-15 or more over what you'd pay elsewhere. I was looking for the Albrecht Durer 24 watercolors set, which they were selling for full price at $72. I had just seen this same set on Blick Art for half that, $37.50. I mentioned this to one of the staff and his response was, "Yeah, well they can buy in bulk and we can't." Okay, fair enough, but wow, even with shipping I could get it far, far cheaper online. As for returns, ha! Don't go by their printed return policy. I mistakenly bought a quill watercolor brush that's way too big for my needs; called the store to see if they have the next size down, which they do, but was told I could not exchange it "because the manager says it's too hard to tell if a brush has been used or not." Then why doesn't the return policy state that? See the attached photo for their posted Return Policy. Now show me where it says "brushes can't be returned because you can't tell if they've been used or not." The staff person on the phone said I could bring in the brush and speak to the manager about it, but I will not be doing that. I've encountered him before: he's one of those people who thinks he's hilarious and is in your face whether you need help or not. Sorry, I refuse to deal with him, so I'll just keep my overpriced $47 synthetic brush and try to find a use for it. Some of the staff are pleasant and nice to work with; we even got to know some by name. But overall, shopping at Meininger's has just become too much of a hassle and we won't be shopping there again.
