And that was after I said something. So who knows how long it would have taken. This isn't because of lack of effort. The baristas were doing things. They're making lots of drinks. But it's not clear for whom. They finish the drinks and they don't call people's names. Maybe they're for to go orders? I understand that restaurants need to make choices about how they run things. All I can say is, that it's not a good experience to get all of your food and you have to wait for a black iced coffee (a drink that takes very minimal effort) for 10 minutes. That simple gesture made a great first impression. Eye contact is important to me. It feels like, as a society, we've lost some of those basic courtesies that make people feel seen and valued. The staff at The Salad Bar absolutely delivered in that regard. I also appreciate businesses that pay attention to the little things. Cleanliness should always be expected, but unfortunately, that's not always the case. The restaurant was spotless, and I was pleasantly surprised to find USB charging outlets at the tables--a thoughtful touch that definitely didn't go unnoticed.
