A delicious Venezuelan lunch experience at The Corn Factory food truck in SW DC. I appreciate the friendly customer service. I was met with what felt like genuine care and regard for taking an accurate food order. I believe I encountered the owner who was very pleasant and if she was not the owner, then this person certainly bought into the expectation of good customer service. I wish more of the food truck management teams in the SW DC area provided similar care and customer service. Overall the food was absolutely delicious. The Carne Mechada Arepas was very delicious. I ordered it without cheese and it was still delicious. It was very hearty and the flavors were robust. The plantain on the arepas was cooked well, however I wish I had more on it. As an extra it comes with two pieces. The Pollo Mechado Pabellon was also delicious and similar to the arepas, I wish I had more plantain. I could eat these plantains by itself. I believe the plantain costs extra. Next time I might purchase two side orders of the plantain. The processing time from order placement to order fulfillment was relatively short during the lunch rush which I appreciate. I'll visit again soon and I'm hoping for consistency and I will update my review to a 5*. Give them a try. read more

I love the food. It is the best food truck in the area. I love their pabellon which is a complete bowl very filling and flavorful. Their arepas and cachapas are awesome too. They are on maryland and 7th, next to the metro station entrance. You'll never go wrong with this food truck. I have been a customer for years. read more

The Corn Factory is absolutely delicious! I've been ordering the Carne Asada tacos and they have never disappointed. For only $11 dollars, you get restaurant quality tacos filled with flavorful beef, chopped onions, cilantro, and a spicy green salsa / lime on the side. I've also tried their Pollo Asado and it's just as tasty. Truly cannot stop raving about how delicious this is and am excited to try their Aprepas sometime soon. The service is speedy, accommodating, and so kind! Always love being greeted by their thoughtful staff. Their truck is clean and provides all napkins and cutlery at the front of the truck. If you see The Corn Factory around the District, it is most definitely worth a try! read more

Love their arepas. It was so good I forgot to take a picture! I recommend their shredded beef arepa - add cheese and plátanos. You can also top it off with black beans and avocado. The outside is nice and toasty and the inside is soft and filled with delicious ingredients. Great service! You're always welcomed with a smile. Definitely recommend this food truck. You won't be disappointed. read more

The Cachapas is amazing. Service is brilliant. The price is reasonable. Excellent all around.

The food is always incredible, top lunch around the mall 100% and the plantains are the best I've ever had. Friendly, quick, gluten free and always a better day when I stop by. read more

OMG!!! This place is absolutely BOMB! The cachapas are freakin' AMAZING!!! Cachapas (Corn pancake sandwiches) are amazing. The arepas are fantastic, but the cachapas are on another level! They're addictive! I swing by here on a regular and try to tell as many people as I can about this spot. Definitely a must do food truck in DC! read more

Since covid, this is one of the only trucks I've seen near L'Enfant/the Mall that is unique, serves great food, and isn't one of the hundreds of generic trucks on/near the mall that service mediocre everything from hot dogs to boba teas. They have customizeable arepas, cachapas, tacos, and bowls. I usually get the more unique Venezuelan cachapa, and usually get things vegetarian (you can add black beans, avocado, and/or plantains to anything on the menu.) read more

I honestly haven't met an arepa I haven't liked but this is the first time I experienced a cachapa! Wow! I may have a new favorite dish. The cachapa is 2 corn pancakes with your choice of filling. Any additional toppings cost extra so it can get pretty pricey. I ordered chicken with cheese and it came to about $10. Arepazone is a much better deal since the toppings are included in the price but they do not have cachapas! read more

This is definitely one of the top food trucks that I've had in the area. It really depends on what you order, but if you order the right dish, you will come away happy. I've had their Arepas, Cachapas, Tacos, and Tamales. The good: The Arepas and Cachapas are amazingly delicious! They are both excellent choices, but I prefer the Cachapas over the Arepas. I ordered both with Pollo Mechado with all the additional sides (Plantains, Avocado, Black Beans, and Cheese). The combination is flavorful and everything taste very good. I prefer the Cachapas because of the corn pancakes that makes the dish softer and a little sweeter. The bad: Wasn't a fan of the tacos or tamales. The tacos tasted a little bland, and the tamales were too dry. I've had tamales that have been freshly made that tasted moist and flavorful, but I didn't enjoy the ones from here. Overall, I keep coming back to this food truck because of the Arepas and Cachapas! The food is totally worth it and the cost is pretty consistent with DC food trucks. read more

This place was for sure one of the busiest food trucks on the street during lunch time. The name is cute and the staffs are really nice and patient even when they re busy. I had one of their white cheese apera and it was good but nothig really special and I kind thought it was pricy for such a small meal. Maybe I didn't order the right stuff? Not sure but I wonder how many people were lining up just cuz the truck looked cute, like I did lol read more

My son and I are huge fans of arepas, so after a recent trip to the American History museum, we were excited to find The Corn Factory. What we didn't realize is that arepas can differ depending on region. The arepas we loved were from a Columbia restaurant at home, and The Corn Factory is Venezuelan. Didn't think perfection could be perfected, but these were amazing. So much so that the next day when we were sightseeing another area, we hoofed it in 95 degree it just to enjoy this food truck again. In all, we ordered arepas with shredded beef and cheese (one with plantains, very good addition!), cachepas with shredded chicken and cheese, and chicken tacos with cheese and avocado. The woman who ran the truck was also great. Very friendly and hard working. read more

This truck is fantastic. My wife is Venezuelan and we just stumbled upon it while actually walking to another cafe for breakfast. She ordered an arepa with shredded beef and cheese and I ordered a black bean and cheese arepa. Both were amazing. The arepa had a delicious grilled flavor and the fillings were also wonderful. My wife said there her meat was succulent while not being too messy at the same time. Highly recommended. We will be back. read more

The food is really amazing I was honestly surprised when I first heard of this place but I would definitely be coming back!!

I loved the atmosphere and service was really good. It was not that busy when we went there and service was quick.

I needed to visit the Corn Factory two weeks in a row to confirm what I thought on my initial visit - 5 stars. On my first visit, I got the arepas - combo chicken and beef. Both meats were juicy and nicely seasoned. I was surprised to see that I got just one arepa with literally the chicken and beef side by side (for some reason I expected two separate arepas, although that was a leap I made on my own). My meal also came with tomatillo salsa, which was excellent. 2nd visit I got the tacos and chose carne asada, added avocado and pico de gallo on the side. The meat was seasoned nicely, juicy, and the portion was plenty filling! The avocado was fresh and they definitely didn't skimp on the portions. Prices are reasonable, portions filling, and fillings fresh. One of my new favorite trucks! read more

3.5 stars. Good price point for food truck food. Very aesthetically pleasing presentation. Not very generous on the cheese for the additional charge, nor on the pico de gallo. Chicken was rather dry and all dark meat. Might return if in the area, but overall this was a little disappointing. Friendly staff a plus. read more

Went out the food trucks for lunch like I usually do on Fridays, and came across this food truck. I had been craving tacos so I ordered the carne asada tacos with cheese and then avocados on the side. They were delicious and exactly what I expected. The only thing is that afterwards I realized I should of been charged 10$ instead of 11$. Since the tacos were 8.50, cheese .50 cents and avocado 1.00. Besides that I love them! read more

So I've been on the hunt for Arepas in DC for some time now. I tried the popular street Arepas (Corn and cheese) that you can get in NY and fell in love with them. Someone had to make these in DC right? I stalked yelp and Googled my life away and was disappointed that I didn't find too much on "DC arepas" One day I was walking outside of my job and I saw a little yellow truck in the corner of my eye--I looked over and saw something that resembled the arepa that I had in New York... could it be?! Maybe... so I stopped everything and let my heart and tummy lead my feet there. I selected a queso cachapa (corn/cheese pancake) because the ingredients closely resembled to what I was used to. I didn't have high hopes due to a bad experience at another arepa place (arepa zone sucks!) but once I tried it I fell in love and was happy to find this delicacy in DC. I haven't been back since, but I'm planning to find that wonderful little yellow truck and trying something different...maybe empanadas next time :) read more

Best chachapas ever - queso and plantains. They actually melt their cheese so it's super stretchy when you bite into it. Can't go wrong here. They're only at the Smithsonian mall on the weekends and are busy somewhere else on the weekdays. Really cool owner and bomb food truck food. read more

Friendly staff. Tasty food. Definitely, try to get there early, close to opening time, so the wait isn't as long. The cachapas are my favorite. 3.5 Stars, Pretty decent Truck for lunch. My only gripe is that the portions are a little small and if I get 2x servings then it can get a little costly. I wish they did a 2 for $10/$11 with a little less meat but another arepa. One is simply not enough ... Food itself was pretty good, the Arepa was grilled crispy and filled with the meat of your choice. I think that it can be a little salty depending on your tolerance. Overall not bad but a Chipotle Burrito is more filling for about the same price. read more

I stopped by here while near the Washington monument. They have arepas, tacos, empanadas, and more. I went with a beef arepa because it was something I had never tried before. The corn patties that sandwiches the beef are delicious. They have a nice crust on the outside with a soft fluffy center. The pulled beef is loaded with flavor and very juicy. It balances out the corn patty well. The price isn't bad at all. I paid around $8 for one arepa. For as small as it looks it's VERY filling. The service was good as well! read more

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite food trucks. Three times I ordered something and three times it was delicious! The arepas and cachapas are amazing! Both pollo dishes have a delectable sweetness that balances out the basic flavor of the corn with pineapple. The dishes are not terribly heavy on the stomach though the cachapas were huge. The meat was well seasoned and still moist- no hanging around and drying out all morning waiting to be eaten. And the plantains are well worth the extra fifty cents. This is a near perfect option for those of us looking to cut down on carbs (to maybe get that summer body by winter). My only nitpick is the price- one arepa will only fill those with the smallest of appetites, but two would easily be more expensive than any adjacent food trucks. If you're looking to grab an affordable bite, aim for the cachapas and a side of plantain. By the way the service is great. The wait for your food isn't terribly long but long enough to know it is being cooked after you order it. They were out of pico de gallo today, so they threw in extra plantains! Do yourself a favor and check them out! read more

A unique food truck since there are very few like The Corn Factory in DC. I originally thought it was a popcorn truck because of the name but was pleasantly surprised to find a menu full of Venezuelan/Mexican food. The line was quite long so I assumed everyone knew something I didn't! I ordered the chicken avocado arepa with added cheese. For $8+ and a 30 minute wait, this arepa just didn't do it for me. I was excited to try it since what's there not to like about chicken and avocado but to my dismay, it was quite flavorless. The arepa came with a green sauce that didn't have much flavor either. The pico de gallo was actually very delicious; that was my favorite part of the meal lol Interesting concept but unfortunately missed the mark for me. read more

I saw the hype and tried it...and it is actually worth the hype. I grabbed a cachapa mixta- sweet corn cakes (so good), shredded beef and chicken, veggies, plantains and a bit of cheese added. $10.50. It came out before I was even finished putting my fire porn on Instagram. I found a nice little sit down spot next to a museum, and proceeded to give this the smash that it deserved. My husband and I were heading towards the Tidal Basin this past weekend to see the cherry blossoms when we noticed a slew of food trucks lining two whole blocks near the mall. Once I laid my eyes on their menu, I knew what I wanted to eat --- cachapas ($8)! I have a soft spot for Venezuelan food, and they certainly didn't disappoint. I ordered the shredded beef with cheese, which was sandwiched between two corn cake-like buns. For some extra sweetness, I splurged an extra $0.50 for fried sweet plantains (maduros). The beef was juicy and tender and the plantains were ripe and not oily. I was really glad that I had added the plantains to the sandwich. It offered the perfect touch! The wait wasn't too bad despite how busy they were, and service was offered with a smile. The food was fresh, delicious, and worth every penny. I'd definitely be back if we crossed paths again. In addition to cachapas, they also serve tacos and arepas (sandwiches with maize-flour buns). Yum!! read more

Arepas are something that constantly lure me in. I love deliciousness packaged inside a warm corn arepa. The Corn Factory truck can typically be found on 13th Street at Franklin Square Park, Union Station, L'Enfant Plaza and 12th & D during lunch as well as at events around the city. You can find their location on their Facebook page. At first I assumed the truck featured a variety of corns, but it is Venezuelan and Mexican food like arepas, tacos, empanadas, tamales, etc. I really enjoyed my shredded chicken arepa plus avocado ($.50). The arepas are served with a spicy green salsa and a milder pico salsa. The meat is so flavorful. They have an option of chicken and avocado salad, but the shredded chicken plus avocado gets a thumbs up from me. Pork, cheese, beef or a mix are also available. All of that plus a drink comes to about $9. Tacos come in sets of 3, tamales and empanadas in sets of 2, and arepas come individually. One arepa is plenty for a filling lunch. Don't let the name confuse you. The Corn Factory has really delicious food. If you spot it on the street, I recommend giving it a try. They also accept credit cards! read more

I came across The Corn Factory over by the State Department. I wanted everything on the menu. I decided to get the Carne Mechado Cachapas and to my delight the woman taking orders asked if I want cheese (Yes, Please) and then if I want plantains on it (I almost hugged her). It was amazing and the pico de gallo they serve on the side is SO good. I went back today and got the same but they were out of plantains (sad face) because they were slammed at the lunch hour. The same woman was taking orders. Let me speak to her for a moment. She is probably the nicest food truck person I have come across. (And I have a small food truck addiction). She's extremely friendly but also has a sense of humor. Excellent food and super staff. They will definitely be getting more of my $$$. Thanks Corn Factory! ~ Stephanie from Foggy Bottom read more
