The strawberry mango margarita was actually the best thing and definitely a 5/5. It was strong, sweet and definitely hit the spot. The $6 happy hour price made it even better. The food though was limited and nothing I'd return for. The rib plate was dry. The difference between regular fries and the special only looked and tasted like pepper to me. My Moms plate of loaded fries, she left on the plate and my teens chicken sandwich he said he'd go back for. I will say his sandwich was big; but for $50 it wasn't worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff was nice and the place was empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped in for some lunch. I ordered the Chicken and waffles with fries. I got the chicken mild spice level and it was perfect. It had a nice seasoning to it with the right amout of spice. The waffle was fluffy with a cinnamon butter on top. Food came out quick and we had at least 3 people who checked on us during our dining experience.

Excellent chicken! Crispy, flavorful, and you can pick your own heat level. Sides range from Fries, Coleslaw, Mac and Cheese, and Dragon Fries. Tenders by themselves, paired with ribs, or in a sandwich. Everything looked and tasted great! Service was excellent and restaurant super clean!

Love love the chicken Crispy juicy and very much to our liking Service is excellent as you order from the counter and everything is brought to the table of your choice They also check on you whether you need a drink refill even though there is a fountain And after the meal, they will bust the table for you

So we pass by here everytime to do our shopping. This establisment is right on the main street as we live just off one of the subdivisions in the area. Today we decided to have our lunch here and we were pleased with how this place is set-up. I honestly, didn't realize my first review didn't post. So this is our 5th time here and today I ordered the chicken salad. I am very surprised, it is good and very filling. You guessed right, the chicken was good

This place was nice to go to. Their chicken sandwich was really good and the wrap that I bought was good and fresh. I ordered a side of macaroni and I must say, it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Very creamy and good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant and restroom was also very clean![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]I'd definitely come back.

This is part of the lunch special The tenders were great. The coating makes it. It's almost tempura like.

A must try. This was our first time and we will definitely be back. The breading/coating in their tenders is like no other. Very light and crispy. The spice blend was on point. We both got mild.

Two trendies, full slab of pork ribs.

A little bit skeptical pulling up and seeing a nearly empty parking lot at 6pm dinner time. After eating the food I'm astonished that this place isn't slammed pack. Ordered food at the front cafeteria style, grab a number and they bring the food out to you. A bit pricy for what it is IMO. But the ribs had a nice spice to them and VERY tender. The chicken was flavorful and FRESH. I'd be weary to order the spice past the normal as I think it will take away from the good flavor of the meats. Service was quick and the place filled up later on. Maybe we just got there early. Worth a revisit and get their special sauce. It's like Canes but not so sweet.

So...this is a quick bite kind of day! If you want something hot, delicious, and inexpensive then Hog Heaven at the Cookshack is the way to go! I ordered online for a pickup and of course it was ready 5 minutes before time...piping hot!! I'm so hungry and can't wait to get home!! You won't be disappointed with the tender rib meat and yes...it's Hog Heaven!!! Enjoy!!

Woah!!! These fries are to die for! They're piled high with pulled pork, cheese, sauce...all the finger-licking things. Chicken tacos are scrumptious with the cool cole slaw and toppings. Mac and cheese was very creamy and fresh. I was in the area for real estate school and this place comes highly recommended. Service was helpful and she made sure to explain everything after asking if it was our first time. Place was packed and TVs were set to all things sports related. We'd definitely return if in the area.

Ka-Pow- Yee!! The first fork of the Hog Heaven Special was so spicy and flavorful that I thought I'd been hit in the mouth by Batman! The concept was perfect... spicy barbeque rib bits over coleslaw and a bed of fries. My order was medium heat with Dragon Fries. This was my first visit to the Cook Shack and I was please with the comfortable and welcoming environment. I ordered at the food counter the wandered over to the bar to see what they offered... a good selection of canned, bottled, and draft beers. Several wines and hard liquors were also on display. The rating who have been 5, if not for the bits of burnt rib pieces in my order and the bits of bone in my colleague's order. It's a good practice for restaurants to find use for all food products, but it's not good to add trash to the dishes.

I opted for the drive thru, which was quick. I got the chicken strips with waffles and dragon fries. The strips were good and I liked the bit of heat the fries had. It was a LOT of food, I shared with my boyfriend. There was an entire fluffy Belgian waffle with a cinnamon butter and syrup. The spicy chicken sandwich did have a good amount of spice. The mac and cheese was pretty good too. We were pretty impressed. I would eat here again when I am craving chicken!

We popped in to the Cook Shack today and we were completely blown away! The food, the service, the ambiance...everything was top notch! We tried the sleezy, the waffles, and just the good ole fashioned tenders and the four of us were stuffed and so happy by the end of the meal. One of the managers even came by to chat with us and surprised my teens with free made in house ice cream sandwiches!! So glad we live so close. Must try: DRAGON FRIES.

Breakfast cost us about $10 less than when we go to other chain places. When you have the choice of hashbrowns or country potatoes, get the country potatoes. They're cheesy and delicious. My scrambled eggs were not overworked. I hate that. Fluffy and delicious just like the pancakes. The cooks know what they're doing and the wait staff is very nice. The only complaint that I can come up with is I'm not a big fan of added sugar to my pancakes. But I know people love their sweet stuff. We'll be back.

Updating my review!…read more My mom, husband, and I went this morning for breakfast and to start off the place wasn't as packed we found a booth pretty quick. It did take a while for anyone to attend us, I had to ask someone for menus and to take our drinks. My mom ordered the chicken fried steak and the waiter seemed a bit confused on what the menu said. My mom was confused too because on the menu it had two of the same name items with different prices. Anyway he took her order and he put in for the " country fried steak" as he called it and she also asked for the gravy on the side. My husband and I ordered waffles combo plates and my husband asked for a side of bacon. When the food arrived the gravy was on my mom's food when she asked for it on the side and she asked to get it replaced. She got it back and once she started cutting it it's was actually chicken fried chicken. She didn't want to ask to take it back so she just ate it. The good thing is she said her meal was delicious even though she didn't get exactly what she wanted. She also very much enjoyed the coffee. When it came to my mine and my husbands meal the sausage on his plate looked pale as if it was left on the grilled for one minute each side so we asked if it could be slightly more cooked and we're super grateful that the waiter took it back and brought crisper sausage linked on our plate. Now the only other disappointment from my husband's meal is that he never got his extra bacon instead he was brought extra sausage links. We didn't want to send it back either so we just kept it and he ate that. Overall all the food was amazing just wish everything was given to us the way we ordered it in the beginning. I would still go back and eat there.

TLDR: Worth a visit if you're in the area?…read more Wow! Hidden gem? Forgotten favorite? I don't know, but after tasting the food, we have to get the word out about this spot. Arriving around lunchtime on a weekday, I had the place to myself which allowed me a unique opportunity to take the place in. That being said, this spot is not overly French cafe themed, but instead a classic suburban strip mall spot with nods to the French peppered throughout the menu and decor. The booth area is well-designed, the spot was clean and the table touched by light so after a great experience chatting with the cashier I was crossing my fingers, hoping the food matched the vibe. I had a crepe Mexicana (because who has ever heard of that?!), a croque monsieur with tomato soup, and a dessert crepe because y'all know I always save room for dessert. It took a minute to be prepared, but I'm willing to wait for a fresh made meal. Everything, was delicious. Crepe texture was on point, and each crepe was stuffed to the Gods. Positive experience all around. My tip: Order the tomato soup and finish your meal with the following combo- a dessert Crepe Almonds with strawberries. Trust me on that one!

Upon first glance of the interior, it looks like this space used to be a bar or something with a huge bar area in the middle of the space off to the right side. There are many circular cut outs in the ceiling where huge room fans are installed. They make all their dressings homemade, and hand bread many of their fried items like mushrooms, onion rings and stuffed jalapeños. They have salads, burgers, and 12 different comfort food entrees. They also have a daily special menu that spotlights a couple items of the day and their coffees, soups and dessert. They are a beer and wine restaurant. One unique item they have on the menu is a fork and knife hot dog which costs $13. Wow, this better be one awesome hot dog. The day I visited, they had a party for about 30 senior citizens that were celebrating a birthday. Normally that many customers in a single group would make a restaurant pretty loud, but it was actually extremely quiet in the restaurant. Every good restaurant does something slightly different to set them apart. Here at dinner, they give you a dinner roll slathered in melted honey butter and rosemary. The roll itself seemed to be made from frozen dough, but the tasty butter made it edible. I ordered the chicken club and kept the fries as my side. As far as presentation, I'd give it a C. The fries are frozen breaded fries. The sandwich tasted better than it looked thankfully. Service was good throughout my time here. Overall, the meal was good enough and I will be coming back to try other options.
