When you tell me something is from Austin, my immediate response is to check out, because, let's be honest, everyone in Texas knows nothing that is out of Austin is good, but I had been hearing a lot of good things about this burger joint and decided to try it out today. There was one not too far from me and it was nice to make a small trip. Plus I had my edc camera with my new lens and have been dying to get some snapshots since I knew it had a retro theme. Not gonna lie, this place is pretty legit. The food was great, and the prices? Wow. Super affordable for all the food we got. I went back to the counter after my burger and decided to get the nuggets to try them. The restaurant was super clean and the employees were friendly as well. All very positive things to see when you walk in. If you're near one, you should give it a try. You won't find a better deal. The patties and the fries are all real and fresh. If it was closer, I'd probably eat there more frequently in the future. I'll do my very best not to let them being outta Austin affect my judgement of them too much. read more

Solid burger in the Gleanloch community. On the day that we stopped by - it was coincidentally there 20th anniversary. This translated to a really cheap combo that included a double cheese burger, fries, and a shake for $7.05. The quality of the food was on point and the price made it a steal. My son loved his burger and asked to come back again a second time, same day. I promised him a rain check. Even though the place was crowded, the food came out quickly with everything hot and fresh. We love P. Terry's and eat here often because the food is usually solid, which is exactly why today's experience was so frustrating and honestly really annoying. We ordered online and went through the drive-thru to pick up. When we pulled up to the window, no one even opened it to greet us. Then there was a 10-15 minute wait, which would have been one thing...I understand delays happen. What made it so frustrating was that with multiple employees working, not one person took a second to acknowledge the delay or simply say, "Hey, sorry for the wait, your food will be out soon." That's just basic courtesy. When we finally got our order, the employee handed us the food without saying a word. No apology, no explanation, nothing. We quickly checked the bag and everything seemed okay. Then we got home and realized that instead of fries, we were given potato wedges!!! It was BEYOND frustrating. If fries were unavailable, that should have been communicated before making the substitution!! Customers should at least be given the courtesy of deciding if they want something different instead of just finding out after they get home. What makes this even more frustrating is that this could have been avoided with simple communication and basic customer service. New location to Houston area and friends of mine wanted to try and they researched and told me there are a lot in Austin. So guess they want to expand to Houston market. Located in a HEB lot off 99 and I feel the HEB helps with traffic flow. Bldg looks nice from outside and inside is new and modern looking but sorta basic nothing fancy about it. Basic front counter and 1 small menu board and 1 small drink station. But in my opinion from a business point of view too many workers. The place was busy but not swamped to have 10+ workers. But drive-thru had many cars so maybe I'm wrong. Greeted as soon as we walked in with a worker saying "welcome in" and we placed our order and asked some questions and the cashier/order taker was friendly and helpful with explaining things to us. Prices are low ($3.50 for single and $8 for a single cheese combo) but the burgers are very small...as a comparison they are the size of a Jr burger. I ordered a single cheese without knowing this and my friends ordered doubles. $30 total. On reciept they break down the order and they number the burgers so you know who gets which burger as I added items to mine. The burger comes with lettuce and 1 tomato slice and special sauce (mayo based) I added onions and pickles but did not add ketchup or mustard as I wanted to try the special sauce and see if any good. Fries are thin and have skin on and were really crunchy, the fries were the best part of my experience, the burger was just OK and too small for adult male. My friends got the doubles and said it equaled a single normal size burger you'd get at other burger places as far as how filling the double was. I would suggest ordering a double if you're an adult who's hungry. They also have banana bread which seems odd for a burger place and really good cookies. We tried the bread and cookie and both were really good and sign states fresh made daily in store. Hoping our recent visit was an aberration. Hadn't been to a PTs in a few years, back in Austin, but have always had good experiences there with better-than-boring fast food. We hit the drive-thru at this location recently, and I was underwhelmed. The burger, in particular, was just -- tasteless, if not a little odd-tasting (fishy?). Cute burger stand with an outdoor patio and little sandbox area for little kids. The burgers are ok. The fries are not the best- kind of semi frozen but cooked well crispy. The chicken bites are overpriced. The egg sandwich is ok but I like how they are $2 every now and then and the eggs are fluffy omelet style. They do not have jelly to go with the breakfast sandwich. Orange juice, coffee and teas are ok. I do like the shakes. The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are a steal at $1 and huge. The banana bread is a little dry. I'll admit it... I wasn't impressed the first day we went but we came back again the next day and I'm so glad we did. First impression when you walk in is it's almost like In N Out but they offer more than just hamburgers which is nice for those that have special food requirements. They have chicken and veggie options. The first day I tried to mock exactly what I get from INO and I was a little disappointed. Lettuce wrapped cheeseburger with pickles and grilled onions. The burger patty was dry. The sauce is sweet and I was sad. The fries were meh. The second day I ordered the spicy grilled chicken burger and wow!!! Such a big difference. The chicken patty was juicy and the spicy sauce blended perfectly with the burger. I added some salt to my fries and even they turned out better than the first attempt. I was out running errands one day and passed by P. Terry's. I did not know they opened a location so close to home! I kept this in mind for a day that I did not want to cook, so of course we headed to P. Terry Sunday evening. The drive thru live was long so we decided to dine in. It has been many years since I had their burgers. My husband had their double cheeseburger, and I had their crispy chicken sandwich. Wrong moved, stick to ordering their burgers. There was really nothing wrong with their chicken sandwich, it just didn't hit the spot for me. My husband let me have a bite of his cheeseburger and it was delicious. First time here at the Spring location, I've always been to the Richmond one but I realized that this one was located closer to where I live. Came here on a pretty busy Saturday, where they celbrated their 20th birthday, they had an awesome deal and I gotta break it down for y'all: Double Cheeseburger - tastes so good, very juicy, great amount of toppings, just need to ask for onions and pickles if you want them or not. I was pleased with the overall taste! Hand-cut thin fries - crispy, tasty, the perfect french fry! Birthday milkshake - solid milkshake, can't go wrong with a good milkshake! Has some limited parking, but thankfully there's an HEB nearby to accommodate for parking! Also there are double drive-thru lanes, and outdoor seating with their classic sandpit for the kids to play in. I went through the drive-through to place an order for a breakfast sandwich and breakfast hash. I was the only car in line so I will receive my order fairly quick. I ordered a spicy egg burger with sausage pepper jack cheese and extra sausage with a side of hashbrowns. When I got home which is a 10 to 12 minute drive from the restaurant my sandwich was still hot and so were my hash. The has war attack salty but still edible. The egg sandwich is where it's at. I added jelly to my sandwich and it was delicious. I added the salsa and it took it up a notch. Before I say anything I just want to share how amazing their entire staff is! I absolutely loved everyone being so hands on and so attentive to all their customers! Marlee was our cashier and she was absolutely so sweet to the young man handing out the orders (around 8:30pm). Although there was some delay on my shake, I also know that during their 2nd opening day they would have some delay. My family and I ordered 2 DBL cheeseburger combos, 2 cheeseburger combos, an order of chicken bites, a chicken sandwich and a caramel turtle fudge shake to eat in. Our order did not take long which is why I suggest to eat in or do take out rather than the drive-thru. Luckily the place was very clean for the most part, restrooms were also very neat however their ice machine was broken which left ice on the floor and the machine. We were exited to finally try them and we were not disappointed, we enjoyed their patties and their sauce. Their fries are delicious in my opinion but once they get cold I can definitely see them getting really soggy which I am so glad we ate there after we hogged a table. Their Chicken bites were our least favorite entree but their spicy secret sauce is what saved those bites because that sauce was really good, it's like McDonald's Big Mac's better looking cousin. Their chicken sandwich was also pretty good, not one of our favorite chicken sandwiches but the outer crisp was impressive, it was definitely fresh and hot once we took that bite. I'm not sure where my first review went, but I don't mind doing another one . this a solid fast food place that needs to be applauded for their smooth grand opening! Believe me when I say we've all had The Misfortune of tragic grand openings, and this little place has got it down without any hiccups. As it gets closer to a meal time I'm sure it might be more hectic but at 4:30 in the afternoon on their second day, hats off to them. I ordered a veggie cheeseburger as a lettuce wrap, so good!. The only time I've ever been able to order a veggie burger at a fast food restaurant was I believe Burger King several years ago. Trust me when I say it was not worth it. This veggie burger was delicious. I of course added onions and jalapenos to mine which would improve anything, in my humble opinion but this was a solid veggie burger. I almost wish they had the option for a double veggie patty, maybe they do, I don't know, I might consider it next time. And yes, there will be a next time. I've had their burger before and they are really good. P Terrys burger stand is in my opinion, better than In-N-Out because of it's options. You can't get a chicken sandwich at in-n-out. You can't get breakfast at in and out. You can't get chicken nuggets at in and out. And you can't get a veggie burger at in and out. A couple of good looking sweet treat options, all in all, i highly recommend. I even think P Terry's fries are better. They are very similar to In and Out, but slightly thicker.. more potatoe taste. The prices are very good too, except maybe The veggie burger is a little bit High for a what it is, I think, but again I haven't ordered one at a fast food place in a long time so I guess I should take into account that I might be paying a little bit extra for the luxury of actually being able to get a good veggie burger. I am Not a vegan, so not an expert on veggie burgers, someone with more experience might argue with me.,but I do like veggie burgers. Overall, love love love P Terry's, and judging by the golf carts coming out of the adjoining neighborhood, looks like a big hit to teens as well. The service has been great and I enjoy the attempt at an old time burger stand decor and appearance. SO happy to have a location of one of our Austin favorites close to home. This is just good old fashioned burgers - nice meat with some actual flavor and no heat lamp warmed anything.
