    Cookie attack

Out with a couple of friends for Nabe dinner at Ichiriki one said she wanted something sweet. So being the designated driver for this non drinking event I drove to the mall in search of whatever treat was needed to scratch that sweet itch for my friend. The great thing about a food court is everyone can get what they want....one for ice cream cone, one for a slice of pie, one for the Starbuck's half quart coffee drink but for me I'm the Cookie Corner Queen every time. Yes please, break out the box because I'm taking home a selection of cookies to make everyone happy. I got chocolate chip walnut cookies, plain chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies and the prize of the day and limited edition...Brownie cookie. Oh my that is an excellent cookie. Got home with the box and a half gallon of ice cold milk I stopped for on the way and was literally met at the door by four adults offer to help carry up the warm cookies and cold milk. What a fun ending to a fun outing with friends to sit around your table with family enjoying warm cookies and a glass of ice cold milk. Never disappointed by Cookie Corner, my favorite place for cookies.

I say cookie corner is one of the best cookie spots here on the island!! Cookies are always perfect, they have a variety of soft, crunchy, and chewy cookies. I love their chocolate chip oatmeal and double chocolate cookies!! It's so fast and convenient. Priced by the weight and can say it is fairly cheap for premium cookies!

I've been to many bakeries and cookie shops, but The Cookie Corner has always had a special place in my heart. I'm used to going to the Uptown location in Pearlridge, but if I'm ever on this side to go to a movie, I can't leave the complex without making a cookie run. Even though I have my tried-and-true favorites, I always check to see if there are seasonal flavors during the time of my visit. One of my favorite seasonal flavors is the peanut butter cookie with the Reese's candy in the middle - I always keep an eye out for that. I've ordered single cookies, as well as small boxes from The Cookie Corner, and the business never seems to disappoint. Even though the cookies seem to have shrunk over the years (and the price has gone up), their taste, texture and consistency have remained the same. And that's what keeps me coming back. Here are some of my favorite flavors: "M&M Cookie": This one is the largest of all the cookies, but I'm willing to pay the extra price. I love the buttery, chewy consistency, and this cookie comes loaded with plain chocolate M&Ms. I've always liked the plain M&Ms more than the peanut version, so I usually get at least one of these during a Cookie Corner run. "Peanut Butter and Chocolate": If I know I'm not going someplace hot where this cookie will melt, I'll get this flavor. I love how the cookie is fully peanut butter, but I thoroughly enjoy the part where half of it is dunked in chocolate. Again, though, I just am sure to eat this cookie in a cool place - I hate it when I have a melted, sticky, chocolate mess on my hands. "Brownie with Powdered Sugar": Once in a while, I'll deviate from my cookie order and get a brownie instead. I love soft, chewy and fudgy brownies ... and these definitely don't disappoint. They're rich and fudgy; definitely more brownie-like than cake like. I like the one with powdered sugar on top, or the brownie with chocolate chips. They don't skimp on the chocolate chips, which add some extra crunch and texture. "Chocolate Chip": Sometimes, all you need is a good, ol' chocolate chip cookie to make the day better. This cookie never fails me. It's loaded with chocolate chips, and I love how the texture is chewy yet crumbly once I bite into the cookie. I seriously can eat this smaller cookie in a few bites, but I relish every one. "Double Chocolate with Walnuts": Loving this flavor was somewhat of a recent thing for me, as I don't really like nuts. I do like the chocolatier flavor of this cookie, and the walnuts just come with the territory. Yet, I do like the added crunch and textures that the nuts bring to the table.

As a child whenever I came to Pearlridge and walked around, I smelled their wonderful chocolate chip cookie wafting in the air. Then I would ask my mom if I could have a cookie. Fast forward more than 20 years or so later, and that sweet cookie smell still gets me every time when I'm at the mall. They had me as soon as inhaled that chocolate chip smell. This location is on the ground floor of Uptown next to the pretzel place, near the center area of the mall where the escalators are. They also have some other things besides cookies, like bite size cookies in cups, cookie tins and fruit bars. Of course their main item is cookies. They have a bunch of different cookie flavors to choose from and you pay based on their weight. I bought two cookies and spent about $3 the last time I went. Some of my favorites are their Chinese almond and m&m cookies. This is the best Chinese almond cookies I've ever had! What I like the most is their cookie's consistency, not too hard or soft. Chocolate chip of course, is my favorite since they're not super crispy or soft. They have a nice homemade taste to that can't be replicated. When I'm having a tough day, it's always nice to get one of these cookies. ********* It's time for cookies, love that chocolate chip smell and comforting taste

A big cup, but of course it's halfway gone!

I'm not one to make or bake any snacks so places like CeCe Patisserie is the place for me as they're located in Pearl Kai which is right across from Pearlridge Center and with lots of free parking the convenience is very easy and you can find them right behind Jiffy Lube. Walking in the vibe is so festive and bright with a staff who I believe is a family friend was such a delight describing just about everything in the shop and not missing a beat it was so difficult to decide and I needed quite a bit of snacks...6 to be exact and not refrigerated so it did illuminate a few which made the choices much easier for me. After much browsing it was the tub of Chex Mix as it came in Hurricane, Ranch, Tajin or Everything Bagel seasoning. Love the various flavors and I got three of Hurricane and Everything Bagel and with multiple purchase there was a little discount that's really appreciated :) There was quite a bit of baked goods many are a bit more sensitive and wished they had more of the snacks as they do make great gifts as well but there are cupcakes, banana bread, brownies and cheesecake...so many options is incredible. It seems like they have a food truck as well making this little shop a busy spot in so many ways. Thank you!

Pan as in Japanese for bread NOT a frying pan…read more Incredible Japanese bready, carby treats so good you'll think you're in the motherland. Fresh baked, individually packaged and sold from a small stall at a farmers market. A mochi and azuki an pan, approaches the quality of Kimuraya in Ginza, the inventor of the anpan and a must visit if going to Tokyo. A soft but toothsome Japanese roll is filled with a piece of neutral tasting mochi and not too sweet, silky smooth red bean paste. Equally good their azuki filled butter roll. The soft, buttery bread and light sprinkling of sea salt makes the gently sweetened azuki paste sing. Savory items impress with the kare pan (curry pan) being the best example I've tried outside Japan. The bread, gently sweet and toothsome with the perfect crisp fry in very clean oil. The curry filling bursting with flavor. Offered mild or spicy. Either way, you'll wish you bought more than one. Finally, they don't shy away from heat. A jalapeño, cheese sausage roll brought the kick, filled with finely diced jalapeño running through the roll. Great combo of flavors. Inexpensive. Most sweet items $3, savory items $4. Very friendly service. Pearlridge farmers market on Saturday. Windward farmers market on Wednesday. Three weeks in a row. Destination worthy.

(There were a LOT of people waiting!) Lady calling out names as tables were ready really seemed to enjoy her job. Her intonation was pleasant to listen to, and she was easy to understand, nice and loud. Names were being called out at a good pace so tables were clearing quickly. Guess the breakfast/brunch folks were all leaving around that time. Just under 20 minutes my name was called and as soon as we entered the door from waiting on a bench outside there was a hostess ready to seat us. After seating us she asked about drinks and very quickly brought hubby's Dr. Pepper and my Coke Zero (no ice). Mine had a lemon in it, which turns out to be the signal it's a Coke Zero. Added nice flavor, too. She said our server would be right with us, and we had just enough time to scan the menu then our server Alicia came to our table. We ordered immediately and our food came in record time. Hubby's pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon, no butter had tall fluffy pancakes, and no butter. (Some places forget, but not here.) My Salmon Benedict came with eggs poached perfectly, yolks runny, as it should be. I ordered my hash browns "crispy" and they were perfectly crisp on both sides. (Not every place crisps hash browns on both sides...) Alicia came at just the right time to check on us and ask if I wanted my soda refilled. She looked at it and asked if it was a Coke Zero, so the lemon must be the signal. She was very busy (it was bustling inside) but managed to stop by at all the right times. Friendly but no chit chat since it was super busy, very efficient, which was perfect for us. She came by just when we were done and asked if I needed a box for my food, and we asked if we could order a slice of pie to go. Hubby wanted the fresh strawberry pie which is in season. She suggested the strawberry tart, which suited him just fine. I asked if they still had fresh peach pie and she again suggested the tart. Alicia brought our 2 tarts in a paper bag and said she included forks and napkins. She had given me a paper bag for my Benedict but I wanted to help the environment and we were trying to fit it with the tarts. She was eagle eyed and called out to us that she would bring another bag. We explained we just wanted to not waste a bag and showed her the unopened one she had brought with my box. She was amazing. Looking forward to the next time we visit. Hope we get her as our server again. Got home and while the tarts are for dessert tonight, I wanted to enjoy the freshness of the tart crust so I snuck a piece. The crust was so good! And the fresh peaches were great, too. Always better than canned. The yards are really almost like a slice and a half of pie and and neater than taking home a slice, so it's a good deal. Pies are expensive because making pie crusts takes time, so getting extra crust in a tart is great. Hope our next visit goes as well as today's. Thinking of getting the chicken pot pie next time!

Not so much anymore, especially since covid. And, they only carry certain pies daily and add more selection on the weekends. Customer service was still spot on. When I approached the pie area, I was greeted by a warm and friendly gal. I was only buying 2 slices of pie - banana cream and macadamia nut cream. I was told that the macadamia nut cream pie was only made on the weekends. Ok, I asked if I can still be it by the slice on the weekend and she told me that it is only sold whole. That was a big disappointment because that was my favorite pie there but did not want to get a whole pie. They did have the banana cream and I was able to get by the slice. I ended up getting a slice of custard pie for my 2nd choice. The gal did show me the sign by the register of what pies are available for slice for that day, which wasn't a lot. Both pies tasted ok, nothing special. The banana cream had a few slices of real banana, which was nice. The pie crust was on the thick side and tasted pretty dry. It wasn't the best banana cream pie I've had .The custard pie was meh, didn't have a real good custardy taste and the crust was the same as the banana cream. Overall, the customer service was good and I probably will go elsewhere for pies.
