Gosh.... I get it your about to close and know you are over helping people but really.... Sanitation should always be priority. I see you wiping down the freezer doors when we walk in, we ask to sample one flavor so you put on gloves then use the gloves to move that dirty rag you were just using. Came to Pearl Kai Shopping Center and decided to give Baskin Robbins a peek since I was craving something cool and since it was Christmas Eve some shops were closed and parking was just wide open making it an easy stop. Walking in it was nice and empty with the exception of a couple folks enjoying their treat at one of the tables in the shop. I paced back and forth looking at the many variety of flavors many popular ones was empty making it even tougher to decide with what they had left and waited and waited for a staff which a lady finally came out and I asked about their "Cappy" item they have displayed on the counter and if it was a shake or smoothie but says it's like a Frappuccino dessert made with a coffee base was interesting and decided on one to which she asked what size and got a small. She got straight to making me one and once I got it was quite disappointed that it was basic as I noticed her scooping from vanilla though the other flavors you're able to get it in are classic, caramel praline, chocolate fudge, Oreo or what the display that I pointed out was "Peppermint Fudge Cappy"...$7.11 for a small and it was vanilla...meh! It was really crowded and had like 2 workers that I could see...They was overwhelmed but got their jobs done. Only thing is it's usually a bit warm which is odd for an ice cream shop but I've noticed it's common for Baskin-Robbins period. Also, been here more than once and noticed their beverage cooler is not cold so the beverages stored are just slightly colder than room temperature. Service has been good enough for me so far. It's usually the same young girl working no matter what day/time we come and she's always by herself. I had to ask what the ingredients of a Mangonado were and he patiently explained Mango, chamoy, and Tajin. Sold! So I ordered my free medium Mangonado (a $7.99 value!) and loved every sip. The drink was nice and thick, the mango, was sweet, the chamoy added a nice touch of tart ands salty, and the Tajin took the drink over the top with a tiny bit of heat and its other flavors. The Tajin was nicely swirled through the drink and it made a beautiful red contrast to the bright orange/peach color of the mango. I savored every sip, and there was a lot is spa because the medium is a very good sized drink! Also love their 31% off ice cream on the 31st of the month. They even tell you the best deal is a triple scoop on these days. If you are like me and can't eat three scoops all at once, just take the rest home and put it in your freezer for the next day. I also love how they decorate the ice cream cakes where you can watch - it's a work of art and fun to watch the creation coming to life before your eyes. Servers at this location are also always friendly and patient, even when there are long lines on the 31st. Okay, is it just me, or have the cups that hold the single scoop of ice cream gotten a lot smaller??? I literally have been coming to BR since I was a kid and now, I bring my own kids here. This last time we went in, all of us ordered a single scoop in a cup. The cup was a puny minuscule 4oz cup and the scoop was definitely NOT a generous one for paying about $5 for it. You would expect the scoop to be high and almost overflowing the sides of the small tiny cup for that price. That's my main beef here. I was done in 3 bites and left unsatisfied. I remember getting a single scoop before and it used to take me a while to sit and enjoy it and I felt satisfied afterwards. I paid over $15 for 3 single scoop cups and we were all done with this "toddler's portion" in about 3 minutes. I did, however, find the customer service pleasant. I always go to the good ol' mint chocolate chip cause it never disappoints. The flavors I sampled (dragonfruit and mom's milk & cookies) just didn't do it for me. We had littles, we were early, and so we decided on ice cream to pass the time. With COVID restrictions, this location allows for 5 customers at a time. We ordered 3 cups and hubs got the chocolate dipped cone, and when we ordered sprinkles for the kids, they were in for a treat because we were given a whole cup full of sprinkles for the two of them! We paid over $60 and then tipped for mostly milk and a half melted ice cream!!! When we walked in it was very hot and there was a fan pushing to the doorway but it's only blowing hot air. I pointed out to my mom that the Ice cream in all 3 freezer sections had lots of flavors melting at more than just the top which means the freezers weren't working well. We I stared as the girl put it down and made a comment on how it's very liquidy and she just looked at me and turned away. We then ordered 4 more large milkshakes (2strawberry & 1PB&choc and I forgot my dads flavor) and all of them were very thin as well. We pointed out that it was the thinnest consistency out of all of them and that there wasn't much color anyways which shouldn't happen as chocolate and peanut butter are darker colors. We asked the girls if they can try to fix it and they said "well there's nothing else in the bin" and then she waited 15 seconds and said "we can just put more chocolate but no peanut butter" (mind you there's another ice cream flavor that was pretty full with pb&chocolate) so we just stood there and looked at them for a bit then just said "never mind" and she just said to swipe my card. I was gonna pay cash but because she was already ringing in as a credit card charge I got my card out and she just kept staring at us. We then just paid and left. Yes I still left them a tip because I'm not an a-hole. I got a Caramel Turtle ice cream & a Moms Makin cookies (flavor of the month). The flavor of the month was a 4/10, it tasted like butter with cookie dough. I don't think I would get it again. The Carmel selection was a 7/10 due to the large amount of Carmel. This ice cream was NO Sugar Added but with the high amount of caramel I'm sure the ice cream had more sugar or was equivalent to others. I came in today thinking it was dollar scoops and was told that didn't exist today I'm not to sure if it's just for this month or indefinitely, that on months with 31 days in it their not doing that anymore. So that was a bummer for me. One cake I got for my grandma was lope sided (see photo) and another time the penmanship of the words of the cake were...less than expected. Also, my order did not have the whipped cream and cherry that was supposed to be included because B&R determined that if you order through Door Dash or Uber Eats, they will not include the whipped cream because it will melt. Hmmm, I guess the ice cream will stay frozen though... Wow, magical ice cream!!! SMH!!!! Seriously, for the price they charge and what you actually get is a rip-off. Much appreciated because she didn't rush us at all and even though the kiddies were going back and forth on the flavors and the toppings, she accommodated the kiddies sweet tooth.
