Contacted the store -- they just kept saying "you picked up everything." The store manager was supposed to call me back. Still waiting. Reached out to customer support online and they told me to deal with the store directly. Terrible in-store service. Customer support that doesn't support customers. This store is any organizer's promised land. I've always wanted to stop by this location and finally had a chance to this past weekend. So many containers! This location had many options for anything you need to organize especially in regards to closet organization. Half this store is dedicated to closets. I was in the market for collapsible crates for general storage purposes (groceries in the trunk of a car for example). I couldn't find any collapsible containers made of hard plastic - not like cloth or basket types of containers that I found in the store. This location did not have what I was looking for, but gave me tons of ideas for other areas of my home in need of organization. A lot of the storage containers seemed very expensive for what you're getting. I found these modular crates that would have been perfect for my needs had they been collapsible. However, 1 for $20? Ouch. I found what I needed on Amazon 3 for $29, collapsible, and the same size as what I found in this store. I will definitely be stopping by this location again in the future for general ideas and sizing, but will most likely shop elsewhere when it comes to pricing. read more

I can browse in this store for hours. It is mainly a recreational activity for me. If you want to stay on top of what is out on the market, you must pay this store a visit every once in a while. On occasion I will treat myself that I think is too ingenious to pass up. I am not crazy about the location. Who knows what will eventually happen to that shopping complex given the lawsuits still in the court system. But it is just good old fashioned fun visiting this store for me! read more

Wow... I really don't get this place. I found success on my first visit when I searched for hermetically-sealed jars for my grains, flours, etc. That was easy, but it was definitely easier to get distracted by the things you don't need. Junk, junk, junk. It was when I went back to look for a closet system that I realized this place is a total scam. First of all, their closet system - elfa - is a complete ripoff. The prices were just downright silly. I only looked at it because my mom used the same system for her laundry room (I found out later that she totally regrets that purchase). They don't even just let you look at stuff and pick it out. You've got to see one of their 'consultants' who will 'design' for you. When I put my name on the waiting list for a consultant they asked for my address, which I told them I preferred not to give. They told me that they WOULD NOT be able to let me proceed without giving my address. I was floored. So ok, I give my information and then I am handed a restaurant-wait style pager. I asked how long it would be and they said that they really had no idea, just depends. They told me that the pager wouldn't work outside the store, so I waited for an HOUR just browsing around the store with my little pager-leash in hand. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I waited there like an idiot for a whole hour. Anyway, after almost 2 hours my pager didn't buzz and I gave up. Never got my elfa consulation, never going back to get one. While I was waiting I decided that I needed some more shelving for storage in my basement (aha! this must be another facet of the scam). It practically took a decree from their CEO to allow me to simultaneously wait in line for the elfa consultation AND purchase an InterMetro system. Wow. Just wow. I'm rating the Container Store with a strong caveat emptor. Nothing I saw there couldn't be found for higher quality and less money elsewhere. It's almost as though they are trying to compete with IKEA but completely forgetting that you need to compete on price as well as style. read more

This place is so expensive and weirdly specific. Unless you are remodeling your kitchen or closet, there's really no need to come shopping in here. I came here because I needed drawer dividers for my dresser as part of a new year's resolution to be neater (if you haven't read Marie Kondo's book about tidying up, you totally should!). I found what I needed, but the products here weren't that high quality and the material was cheap. It does the job, but I feel like their prices are too high for what you're getting. If I could find the very specific drawer dividers I needed anywhere else I would have gone there. Maybe next time I will just order off Amazon. read more

Too bad the prices will also make your eyes pop. If you want to make the most out of your visit, don't dwell on the heavier, furniture items, which look very nice but can be quite pricey. Instead, opt to shop for your smaller container needs here. They have beautiful storage boxes for closets, jewelry holders, and my most recent discovery is their SHOE STORAGE options. I enjoy coming here to find office goods, as well as home goods. For my office I got a good deal on a rolling file cart on sale. For home, I love their magnetic strips to hang above my desk. I love organization (though my Mom might wonder what brought that about). Somehow I went from 10 years old and leaving my toys everywhere to having labeled boxes and bins for everything. Another reviewer (Elaine W.) put it perfectly: " It's full of eye candy for the inner organizer/designer in all of us. Too bad the prices will also make your eyes pop." Prices aside, the sales associates are really helpful. It's just that if the product is eye candy sweetness (think Dove dark chocolate), the prices are WarHeads. Remember those? Loaded with enough citric acid and to make even The Rock's eyes water. Unfortunately, my wife and I had a really bad experience. It may be an exception, but here's what happened. Drove about 30 mins to come here. Stood in front of the Elfa display for about 10 mins when an associate (helping another customer) offered to get someone to help us. Another 20 mins pass and our names are taken. 10 more mins and we finally surrender. For the price, there's an expectation of service. That's why we come to Container Store. I only go here to buy garbage bags for my fancy garbage cans. I used to get 50 for $8.99 and today I had to get 60 for 18.99! They changed the packaging from cardboard to plastic and the price went up $10. I'm not one to haggle but this was just ridiculous. The whole point of this store is ridiculous. Who needs 99% of the stuff they sell here? They were legitimately selling milk crates for $10 each! WTH? They were clean and the sign referred to them as "Dairy Crates" like we don't all call them friggin milk crates! This place has gotten out of control! It's waaaaay too expensive. A place like this could only exist in Kenwood. Anywhere else and it would be called Walmart!... But I think I like Wally less than this place. read more

Everything you needed that you never knew about is here in one glorious place! I am not exaggerating, this store will make your life organized and classy all at once. The first time I stepped foot in this store was eye opening and I am not what I would call a super organized person. They are wonderfully split into sections based on the rooms you can organize, and have comparable prices with Target and others, yet have a selection that is unmatched. A new year, a new space! The Container Store carries some very useful & simple home organizers, anything from mini trash bins to closet racks to bathroom trays. The store itself is very organized with large signs & clean lines that clearly indicate the set categories. You won't get lost as easily here if you're looking for your next home accessories for whatever purpose. They also sell some really cute laundry bags & rolling baskets for a good price! I feel that it's mostly great, price-wise, if you're looking for some smaller bathroom organizers for under ten dollars. Other than that, the sales associate was very helpful with my purchase. I ordered some shelves for my closet online to be picked up in the store. The email from the company indicated that I could either come into the store or pick them up curbside. So, I decided to go inside because I thought what the heck, I can look around for something else to buy while I am there. When I arrived, the employee rather rudely said you can't come in here. It is all curbside pickup only. I showed him my online receipt which gave me the option of going inside the store. He questioned where I got it from. He was basically insinuating that I was lying even though I showed him the printout from his company. I was upset but I waited for him to bring out my order. When he arrived to bring it out, I reached out to get it and he put it on the dirty ground. The products were not in a bag. He said that because of social distancing, he could not put it in my hand. He could have put it in the trunk of my car instead of putting my merchandise on the filthy ground where numerous germs collect. It was totally unacceptable. I did call to complain and the manager was very defensive. I then gave him some suggestions for how the employee could have handled the situation such as putting my products on a cart and then letting me retrieve them. I felt like I was treated like a dog playing fetch. I am not a dog. This store treated me as such. By the way, I am Black and wonder if my ethnicity played a role in how I was treated. I love the Container Store and all the products I have purchased there, especially my two bungie chairs. The Container Store was very helpful in connecting me to Euro Style the supplier of the chair. I was able to work with an account manager from Euro Style and replace the chair. I also love all the Elf shelving I have purchased for 2 bedroom closets and a pantry. It is worth the drive from Dayton to Cincinnati to visit the Container Store. read more
