The kings of "dumbing it down" at a fair price for fair quality. That's IKEA in a nutshell. It's inexpensive in both quality and price, yet stylish and holds up. All assembly required by pictures only, without the use of words. You absolutely get what you pay for, to a certain degree. I've purchased quite a few items of furniture and household goods from Idea. From shelves, to TV stand / entertainment center units, couches, pillows, kitchen ware and beyond. Each item was exactly as expected. In some cases, certain items lasted longer than others, but it really depends on the user. If you take care of it, it'll last longer. The store itself is a bit of a nightmare for me, but not for others. Easy explanation - I am a "seed and destroy" shopper. I go shopping to get what I'm looking for as opposed to shopping just to shop. So, I like to go into a store, go to what I need, get it, pay and get out. That's me. If you're the other type of shopped, you'll love the Swedish Labyrinth that is an IKEA store. It is a maze, specifically designed, so you almost must walk the entire facility from entrance to exit. Now, I do say almost. There are shortcuts that can get you through faster. But, even those can sometimes be a little confusing. They also have their dining hall where you can grab lunch and a beverage while you're shopping or to keep you alive while you're trying to find your way out. Some people seem to really like the food there. Assembling items: Follow the instructions carefully. If you miss a step, there are some cases where you can't go back and/or undo what you've done. Follow them carefully. If in doubt, check their website or any other recommended resources found within the wordless instructions. In all the items I've assembled purchased from IKEA, I think I've only had one item missing pieces or having defective pieces. It was a bit of an ordeal consisting of several back-and-forth trips, but I got it worked out. Pro Tip: Lay all of your components out before you begin building. I can promise you that this will be very beneficial in expediting your build and ensuring you have all that you need. Would I go back? I would, but only when I need to. This review is difficult because I don't hate or dislike IKEA. I've bought quite a few of their products and I've been happy with them. I just don't like going to the store itself. They're really great with picking up items that I ordered from online and bringing them to the car. It's like having a personalized shopper doing the shopping so I don't have to. Their prices are pretty comparable with what you would find with another retailer and sometimes cheaper. I love also that if you find a piece of furniture that you like, they may have it available in several colors, plus they're not shy about dropping prices on items either. The few times I've actually shopped in the store the associates are great in helping you to find things according to your measurements and everyone I have encountered are friendly so yeah I have gotten great service from them. You can be in here for hours. They offer so many different things that you can decorate your entire house with IKEA. I was actually able to get spatulas for under a dollar. I was excited. We moved within 4 miles of this Ikea so we have been there frequently to help furnish our new home. Click and Collect has been good and effective on every occasion since this move. In the past I redid a condo (6 years and 3 years ago- separate properties) and used a lot of ikea product. I remeber that time as challenging with Ikea and espescially returns. They sent me a text. I clicked on that text, listed the number spot I was parked in, and within five minutes a gentleman came out with my order on a cart. He helped me to load it into my car, even though I had told him I probably wouldn't need help, and was very friendly and nice and had a nice conversation with him during the process. The only problem is t took us a while to make a choice because we were stuck between 3 options. If you are coming here, make sure you set aside a couple hours because there is no easy way to get through the whole store. It's been years since I've shopped at IKEA. Maybe 8 years ago? I bought only household items. Quality and at a reasonable price. I can't complain. Now that my Mr. and I became new home owners, we thought we would shop in their furniture section. I love the layout of the showroom (upstairs). It gives you great ideas on how you want to decorate your place. If you see an item that you like, take a picture of the number on the bottom and it will tell you what aisle and shelf when you pick it up downstairs. There was a particular item I wanted but they were no longer selling it. A friendly staff helped me find a similar item. It wasn't in the store so she ordered it for me and it will be shipped to our home. Each section is categorized. This place is huge so make sure you wear good walking shoes. The sections are organized. Hungry? Second floor serves food cafeteria style. You grab a tray, if you want sides (salads, desserts and more) just take it from the fridge and place it on your tray. The main course is served hot. I know everyone comes for the Swedish meatballs (which my Mr ordered) but the Salmon Filet caught my eye. My Mr. got a Greek side salad. Lunch was so good! I wasn't stuffed, just enough to fill me up. This is my first time trying the Swedish meatballs and it's everything I expected it to be! There is a market downstairs if you want to take home some the meals you enjoyed (frozen section) We ended up getting the salmon, dill sauce, veggie dog, and the fruit spread that paired well with the Swedish meatballs. Downstairs is the household items, furniture pickup, market, and express cafe. Returns or exchanges? We had to come back the next day to return something. You text a number to yourself and fill out a questionnaire. Once completed they give you a number and you wait for them to call your name. Pretty fast and easy transaction. Our first IKEA was in Chicago area and we had just purchased a house and needed everything. I was happy to hear when we were getting an ikea in west Chester but not impressed anymore. When u walk in you are committed.. they are set up to make you walk through the entire store to get out. We arent impressed with the instructions for assembly and comfort. We have found them to have some cheap stuff and it is cheaply made. As with most things you get what you pay for. I do like they have things set up so you get in idea of how to use it because several things were ... weird and would have had no idea what it was. Me and my wife came to the Westchester location.To look for and buy a bed We get there no one greets us Next we ask associate.Where are the beds located They had no clue although they worked there. After walking through this large store, we finally find the beds. And there are no salesmen to be found on the sales floor So no. ONE to answer your questions that you may have about their products That could be useful in what i'm about to tell you that happens eventually. We find a bed that had a price tag for the entire set of three hundred and fifty dollars. So we take a picture of it. Mind you, this is the only price tag that is shown for that entire bed. So next we go downstairs , find a dolly And pick out the parts For the bed. Also, finding associate to help.Load your cart with the items you're buying from their store. next to impossible Then when you get up to the checkout finally. And the bed is scanned. It comes up $500. Which is a $150 more than it was advertised at. Mind you there was no sign next to this bed on the sales floor. Which, if an associate had helped us find this could have mentioned if the sign was not there. But we are awaiting management to call us back we will see if they try to make this right because the staff were rude and not helpful at all we found a compared item on wayfair with free shipping 1 day and assembly included for under 400 for the bed we will give ikea the chance to fix this given we are normal customers but if not we will not shop here ever again and will tell people about this experience and how rude and sarcastic they are at this location totally unprofessional attached is the only price tag visible on the entire bed so vuyers beware of shady practices read more

Went to ikea for the first time my cart got picked in self checkout for an audit because i scanned two full sheets by accident and voided it to then scan a twin and full. The associate who came by was extremely rude and told me i couldn't scan two of the same pillow that were the same price because they were a different color. Said associate proceeded to rescan my entire cart because "color matters" then proceeded to the front of self checkout to complain about me while my father was standing right there and said i was telling her what to do even though I was just trying to explain why i scanned things in the way i did 2 at a time for duplicate items to speed the line up. If you go here scan each item individually and don't ask for employee help you'll just get belittled. Pricing is also not accurate on items in show room. read more

Really helps on usage and decor for everyone and in every room. However this place was super packed and took a bit of see somethings, most items had a temporary out of stock tag on them. But online they were still in stock for that location and when we went to the warehouse, we were able to find a few products we came for. They had handsantizer throughout the store and the employees in certain areas were in clear plastic walls around them. Even at check out and they try to clean after every person At check out. The entire place is setup with their products arranged as if they were actual rooms in your home and everything (well almost everything) in the setup is for sale. From the plants to the chairs.. the table and the fridge.. the lights and the door mats.. the spoons and the toys. If it goes in your home they've likely got it and in TONS of different styles. The prices are fairly cheap - which is done by you putting the majority of the furniture together yourself. It's not the BEST quality but it's certainly not the worst either. We happened to arrive right as the cafeteria opened. They're famous for the swedish meatballs but we had chicken strips, fries, mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. Sadly, we were thrilled by the food in terms of flavor. But we were hungry and it got the job done. Oh, and a piece of cake that was definitely a delight! Today I went in there to exchange the drawer bottoms from a cabinet that I purchased because I made a trip to the IKEA in Fishers and all they could do was give me some bottoms that I needed to cut to fit that just wouldn't do. Today my customer service person was Ron and that was a great experience. I waited while Ron searched for the right drawer bottoms for my cabinet and when he could not get the exact ones he ordered the cabinet out of stock and we pulled the drawers from it. I go and try and find a cart and some lady says this section is for coworkers only. I needed a cart and I didn't see any. I told her I was looking for a cart and where the sign was stating that. She didn't give me an answer. I turned around and just ignored her and then I asked another worker if I could cut through so I didn't have to walk all the way around. She was nice about it. I like Ikea in general. They have a great selection in furniture and whatever you need for your home. No complains about that. We placed a pick up order this morning for 20 vases, received a order number and a pick up time. I arrived during the given pick up time, went to the desk to pick up our items. The clerk who worked at the pick up desk was beyond rude. She informed me that our order was cancelled without any further given information. When I asked why it was cancelled I was told that they can't sell what they don't have. I asked her about our cc since it was charged and was told that we will be refunded. I dared to approach her one more time if she could please look up the item to see if the store had any in stock. She looked at me, said no and kept ignoring me from that point on. She just pretended I wasn't there anymore. My comment about this is: If you don't want to having to deal with customers - find another job! I walked back into the store and stopped at a info desk. The staff member was much nicer and told me that the inventory online was not reflecting the quantity they had on the shelf. The staff is super helpful at locating items and ordering things that may be out of stock. IKEA also has a 365 day return policy if you change your mind or aren't satisfied, which is great if you're trying to find your style. It is a little far from downtown Cincy, so I recommend making a list on the website first so you don't spend all day there. I went to IKEA to get the Panget coat rack and bench. These items are difficult to locate so I had to travel further than the closest location. My 11 year old son accompanied me to this location. Once we arrived we walked the entire floor and did not find a display of the items we were interested in purchasing. We did have the location information. We were able to locate one item without any problem and load it onto out cart. The second item lacked clarity on the location and found an employee who directed me to talk to someone in an adjacent area. He gave a paper that was an order. I was told they will bring my item to me. I pay. I get in my suv and go online and wait for an IKEA person to bring the item out. My son did show great patience through this process. After 30 minutes I went inside to find out what is taking so long. I was told they will bring it out. Finally after waiting for 58 minutes. I went in to see customer service. A customer service person was able to get my item. This completely unacceptable!!! They could have just handed the item. To add insult to injury, this very item was broken when I opened the box. Fortunately the Fishers, IN location had this items in stock. They have a different process it only took 7 minutes. read more
