I dropped by this place last week. I was walking up to the entrance and there was an elderly woman with a cane at the front door coming outside. And behind her was a woman pushing a dolly with a 2-drawer small nightstand. I assumed that this was an item that the elderly woman had just bought. The woman with the dolly then put the dolly in front of the elderly woman with the cane and told her to bring the dolly back to the front door when she was done? WHAT? "I cannot help anyone load their purchase." SO I PUSHED THE DOLLY TO THIS ELDERLY WOMANS CAR AND PICKED UP THE LIGHT BAMBOO NIGHTSTAND AND PUT IN IN HER CAR. This place would not help a 70 year old woman load her purchase! What a crock of shit. Do not give this shop owner any of your hard earned money. Shop somewhere else. read more

Sold the items in Feb. When consigned they told me a check would be mailed the month after they sold. Items sold in FEB, when I called they said check would be mailed on March 15. We are now in April with many phone calls asking about the check and each time was told "the check was mailed". Now, this morning when I called they said no the check must be picked up. What?? Why?? I have consigned and purchased items with This n That Consignments, Mason & Centerville store and just visited the boutique. The stores are clean and beautifully arranged, the items are quality and fairly priced. I have found some wonderful treasures there! When consigning, I have felt that the pricing is also fair and have never felt that something was under-priced. The boutique is newer and I was excited with what I found, it isn't easy to find though. Turn into the next parking lot to the west of the consignment store and the store is to the left, under the big bowling pin sign! read more

Great place to find used furniture, and they also have decor and clothing. Furniture is mostly wood - tables, chairs, bookshelves. I was on the hunt for dining chairs so can't really vouch for the other areas, but found some good things in furniture, at reasonable prices. They also have an online presence, which proved to be the downer on my day: I found two chairs I wanted but when I went to pay, it turned out they were already sold online and they forgot to mark it sold :( But I will check in periodically to see what they have! I was there as a shopper so can't comment on the experience as a consigner. read more

Years ago, I consigned some paintings here and was very happy with how everything went. Unfortunately, over the years they have changed a lot of their policies regarding consigning. I dropped off some table linens last year, and was not made aware of the changes. After waiting for a check in the mail or a phone call, I finally called them to inquire, and they basically said my linens were sold, but because I didn't call them in time, I did not get paid. Well, I was very upset about this, but understand that things changed and assumed it was my mistake. Fast forward to a few months ago. I dropped off a very high-quality electric kitchen appliance-brand new, inbox, never used, you can purchase online for between 100-150$. I made sure to call back in time this time. They said it had sold, but only for $10?? And apparently there's a minimum price that you have to sell there before you can get paid?? So again, I get NOTHING?? And every person in the store has never been very polite to me or other customers that I've witnessed. It's fine if you want to have weird policies but MAKE THEM CLEAR and in writing. Otherwise, they are basically stealing from people. It's so unfortunate. read more

I used to buy and sell items here and really liked the concept. I shopped here for many years until I bought an item online that was broken. The defect was not visible in the photo. When I went to the store to pick up the item, I showed them the defect and they refused to refund my payment stating all sales are final, yet the item had never left the store and was broken. I haven't purchased anything from This n That Consignments, but I have just consigned with them. They are really good at communicating with you. And the weekend manager is so helpful. I have a good feeling about working this shop as far as consigning goes. As far as shopping goes, they seem to have a lot of large furniture items in various styles. What a thriving, fun business to visit. At high noon there was serious congestion of customers, staff and assisting hands. All were so pleasant and helpful. I was quite impressed. I already knew what I wanted as I found it on line ahead of time. Clearly I was not alone in chasing the same items so do move quickly on your decision as the prices are great so items move fast! (I was one of four cars loading furniture). After I loaded up the truck and the parents I had to make another pass by myself. Oh I wished I had more time. Inventory turns quickly so plenty of incentive to return often. Today we picked up a brand new automatic lifting chair. It was perfect and 1/3 the price of brand new! read more

Asked about this Roman Gladiator helmet that had been purchased on a pickup. The owner had five days to pick up. I ask about this every other day as I am in there SHOPPING to find out that on the sixth day if can be resold! Today must have been the sixth day and now when I ask about it, it was extended to the buyer? And it will not be resold!???? If the buyer never comes to pick it up after 6 days. Why won't it be resold??? This policy was extended for a buyer of the Roman helmet that apparently never comes in there! When I asked about my first electronic that I purchased from you that didn't work correctly, It was" sorry". We cannot help you. And I SHOPPED there on a regular basis. If you are not going to help out a long time shopper but help out a shopper that cannot pick up their item for some reason. Maybe your electronics should be thoroughly checked before selling??? Just an idea. Update, after sending the above email to this business, received an email saying the lady was a nurse and that's why they had extended it! That sounded like BS. I asked why didn't she have anyone else pick it up? Does she not have family? She is a nurse, Shouldn't she pay attention to deadlines? She should have picked that item up """STAT""""!!!!!! They lost a long time shopper. but gained someone that is not responsible enough to get their items before the policy stated!!! As for the electronics. 24 hours is all you get. Owner says they test the items out. I guess that means they plug them in, light comes on. IT WORKS! Lets sell it! My item happen to be a baby monitor. It worked to an extent. The object with the received or monitor is that it can be carried and mobile! The battery was dead and could not find a replacement anywhere. I said twice what is problem with me asking for a copy of contract I signed? Then we both got louder and she just talked continuously and called me a cry baby, I had to laugh at that. My daughter was listening and couldn't believe it either. I will agree that I'm stupid for not asking for a contract and just going by the few questions that I asked. Lesson learned. This n That can sometimes have some great buys if you look for it. I like to come every once and a while to see what they have. I have bought a few gems from the back room that I keep in my house today. Like the blue candy dish and the 2 vases that are super cute! What a good find! I can't believe I didn't know about this place until now. This consignment store is clean and well maintained, unlike your Goodwills or St. Vincent de Pauls. The furniture is all in good condition so you don't have to weed through tons of junk to get to the good stuff. I found a piece for my dining room immediately for a very reasonable price. They will even hold it for you for 5 days if it doesn't fit in your car. The staff was friendly and helpful and even helped me save 10% off with the special they were running. Drove 40 minutes today to drop off some consignment items to find that they were not accepting items on this specific day only. I mentioned my disappointment that I'd come a long way and nothing was mentioned on the website - 3 staff members began arguing with me and one literally said "it's more of an inconvenience for us, really." I work in the service industry and completely understand that things don't always go as planned but under no circumstances is it necessary to argue with or try to invalidate a customer's frustrations. Completely unprofessional and disappointing for a small local business that I like to support. Definitely will not return. read more

You're not going to believe this. I literally laughed at the explanation. Ok... so you bring in an article to sell and they tell you if it's not sold in 3 months that it's donated. Ok. Fine. Sounds like a good thing right? Today I went in to pick up my check for items that sold and they said one piece was "donated" because the 3 months expired. Then I turned around and said ... "isn't that the piece, you said it was donated". Then here's the line that's unbelievable ... "he said basically "donated" means you "donate" it to the STORE. Wow. True story. read more

I have found some good pieces here, but found the service to be less than great. On the day I shopped here there was a sign out front that said 10% off ALL furniture. I ended up finding two side tables that I liked and when I went to check out was told that they were not included in the sale, even though the sign said all furniture. I pointed to the sign, and said there were no exclusions on the sign but they refused to honor the discount. I liked the tables enough that I purchased them anyway, but don't know that I'll be back any time soon. The service just seemed a bit shady. It's a shame. Might as well donate to charity and get a tax deduction. Record keeping is awful. I used to frequently drop furniture off here and a check was sent in the mail once it was sold. Now, I've come to find out that they can't find any record of the many things I've consigned there....isn't that the point of consignment...to get some $ back?? "I was in yesterday for the first time looking for a table I saw on Facebook. Just wanted to say that during my 7-10 minutes in the store the woman working never acknowledged me, never asked if I was looking for anything, never asked if I needed help, and never even said hello. She preferred to stay on the telephone and when not doing that she preferred to speak to a woman who was already there. A quick hello would have been nice, instead I got the cold shoulder. I don't like pushy sales people, but a hello is pretty standard customer service and she had ample time to do that even if she was busy. I will not be returning." read more

The staff are nice and friendly, the stock is always changing and new to allow you to come back often to see what's new.
