It's behind Mellow Mushroom. You go down a hall and when it ends, pizza place to right and there is a door to the left. Look back in hallway and there is an electrical box. Open that and flip the switch for the green light to come on. The door opens and a very welcoming hostess lets you in. It's not a huge place but plenty of room to sit or stand and hang out with friends. We got there a little early so we grabbed 2 seats at the bar. This is where the magic happens. The bartenders there are talented mixologists. Dave was so nice and helpful. He taught me a Pina Colada is supposed to be on the rocks. It was fabulous! I also had 2 of the holiday drinks that were delicious. By far the best place to go for great cocktails. They also have a small and reasonably priced snack/bar food menu. Just an experience. It should be a must on the top of the to do list.

In house created cocktails will creative names and flavors. My daughter and I tried 4 different cocktails and all were good. The only thing negative is that I did see the bartender use sparkling water to top off several of our drinks which did dilute them slightly. The food was odd...I was expecting a traditional buffalo chicken dip but instead it was cold. It's a fun time and something unique to do if in Franklin, TN.

The Pond doesn't disappoint. It is exactly what one would expect when seeking a dive bar atmosphere. A little ratty, a little rowdy and a whole lot of fun. The coup de grace was they had Guinness on tap, which was completely unexpected. We traveled to Franklin looking for an alternative to Broadway in Nashville on our first night in town. It is worth the trip. Franklin is a very old town with great old architecture and buildings over 200 years old that still look stunning. The Pond was the real reason for my drive down although it was our last stop on our tour of Franklin. The staff was friendly, the Hamburger and fries was delicious, and the beer was cold. They have many options to choose from on tap. They have Darts inside and a couch you'd find down in your friends basement that he found on a tree bank trash day, but that simply adds to the dive bar charm. We stayed for one drink and the burger as we were exhausted from a red eye flight the night before. If you're looking for a dive bar that stays open late and apparently gets packed as the night goes on, this is the spot for you. Most places close early in Franklin, so this is apparently the after hours spot that everyone ends up going to when all other options are closed. The Pond reminded me of a few dive bar spots in Vegas, and I have to recommend you pay them a visit, if for no other reason, just to say you've been there.

Thankfully, someone noticed me sitting and came right over to let me know they'd move us to the Little Bar once seats were available. I relaxed after that and enjoyed the ambiance. We sat at a cool retro two top video game console. That was fun - I'll definitely come back to enjoy nachos at the bar when less busy. The little bar was cool - we enjoyed how intimate it felt and the bartender was really nice. I do wish they had a few more cocktail options on the menu. Dinner was amazing. I was sad we didn't get to sit at the counter where the chefs were though. I had asked in my reservation but oh well, next time. Each course was unique and had a strange and bizarre mix of things you wouldn't think would go together (Mushroom cake, what???). But everything worked. The only dish I didn't enjoy was the raw trout and that's just a texture thing for me - the hubby loved it. Prepaying was actually nice as the bill was only for drinks ordered and the tip had already been included. We would love to come back and experience this again.

From the Speak easy vibe of the restaurant, to the private bar for dine in only, to all the little details in each tasting! It was all so great! My top favorite was the salmon that was cooked over this hot coal oven. It literally melted in your mouth like butter. The salmon was also fresh from New Zealand. My favorite dessert was the sunchoke shaved cookie! I have never had something like this before! It was sweet but savory all in one bite! The presentation was 10/10! My favorite starter was between the tiger mussel and the oyster, but all were good! The oyster had this nice crunch from the bacon and the sauce tasted like the best Italian dressing you've ever had! Every dish was paired super well visually with the plating, perfect timing and wine pairing (if you got it). The dessert pairing wine was my favorite (brandy wine). It was so smooth and not too sweet. The servers and chefs were all amazing! Explained all the dishes and origins of wine tastings. Truly an u forgettable experience. I would love to come back one day!

Fun, casual bar with a decent craft cocktail game hidden in an East Nashville strip mall. This spot…read moreis easy to miss - tucked in a somewhat unconventional strip next to the somewhat sketchy Z Mart gas, this spot is a great example of "looks from the outside can be deceiving." You step into a clean, medium fancy, and extremely well-decorated but still small bar with really casual vibes. There's a mix of bar-top and small tables/couches for seating, but because of the small size, this is ideal for a solo, a couple or a group of no more than 4. It was decorated for Christmas when i came but the normal vibe seems more European punk, and I love the purple-green lighting -- hope that's always around! I loved the ambiance in here, it's upbeat, you can tell the bartenders have regulars and are friendly to chat with, and overall feels like it's a fun spot, even just walking inside. I came solo for a nightcap after dinner and was able to walk in and grab a seat at the bar. Service was just two bartenders for the whole place (which was about 3/4 full), but they were both pretty quick in providing me a menu. The menu is pretty large - almost 4-5 pages purely of cocktails, but also a few options for wine, beer, NA and extremely light bites food (wouldn't plan on having a full meal here.) I opted for two drinks off their signature cocktails list: Dolce Inverno (pistachio liqueur, vodka) and the Smoke n' Cider (apple brandy, cinnamon, smoke). Both drinks were pretty enjoyable, particularly the Smoke n' Cider which had a nice presentation to smoke the drink and also just great flavor. I do think these seem on par with other cocktail spots in east, but maybe not my top tier craft cocktail spots overall for Nashville. Service was super friendly and I think I enjoy the vibes here even more than the actual drinks. Having a small private parking lot is a huge plus, because otherwise parking would be a bit difficult as there aren't many options for street parking near here. This would be an awesome spot to catch up with a friend or just people watch solo, and I'm certain to be back!

In the spirit of getting out and making an effort to explore my new city I decided to find a place to go and enjoy a solo date night and grab a fancy drink. You know the vibes a Carrie Bradshaw moment but make it Nashville style. I found this place via instagram and read all the great reviews and decided to get out and try it. A cozy place tucked and hidden in the heart of east Nashville. It is somewhat hidden with a small parking area but I was fortunate enough to get parking right in front. I walked in and the decor is pops of red and black mixed with gold. The light is dim so it's a perfect date night spot or place to meet and have an intimate small group gathering. It wasn't busy and I enjoyed that there wasn't too many people. The vibes are relaxed and I was greeted right away. Checking out the menu I decided on a spicy margarita concoction with tajin. The bartender brought it out and it was the perfect blend of flavor, spice and alcohol. It was refreshing and sweet/spicy. Perfect. This place is the perfect solo date night spot or date spot with your special someone or catch up sessions with friends. I enjoyed sitting, sipping and writing this review. Solo dates can be daunting and being in a new city can be daunting as well but finding hidden gems like this make it worth while. There's a quote that I love and that's "if you never go you'll never know." Don't let this be a place youll never know... head to your date with this place. Head to Amsterdamian.
