    Fixed Rod Tip
    Shelbi D.

I want to give a shout out to The Colorado Angler in Silverthorne. I broke my rod tip and was devastated since repair services for redington have been suspended due to COVID-19. I thought I was going to have to wait weeks until I can get a repair. I was even debating on getting a new rod. I went on some of my fishing groups in search of some help and Andrew from The Colorado Angler messaged me about possibly being able to fix my rod. I met him outside the shop, he took the rod and within minutes he came back with my fixed tip and an extremely generous discount. I have shopped here before but I will definitely make it a point to make this my go to shop in the county. If your looking for great fast service this is the place to go.

    Brow trout!

The Colorado Angler was a great choice for my first fly fishing adventure. Great day on the Colorado River. Caught some brown trout and a rainbow trout. Our guide was Taylor. He taught two first time fly fisherman how to fly fish. He was patient and made the entire trip from beginning to end a real enjoyable affair. I would highly recommend this outfitter!

Alright, this is am amazing establishment with an incredible staff. Our guide Kent was both patient and kind with us as it was our first time fly fishing. From the moment we walked in every single person on staff was attentive and engaging. It honestly felt like I was about to go fishing with people I have known for a long time. If you are looking to have an amazing fly fishing experience in Silverthorne, do yourself a favor and check these guys out!

First time Fly Fishing - Great Experience!!

This was our first attempt at fly fishing & Colorado Anglers made our experience terrific. They are reasonably priced and supplied us with all the necessary equipment. Our guide, Collin, instructed us and guided us with sincere caring to make it a very special day. Try it- You'll love it !

My Wife surprised me with a half day guided fly fishing tour which is something that I have wanted to do for years. Jim was my guide and was fantastic, I cannot speak enough about how personable, friendly, knowledgable and just an all out Rad dude he was. He took the time to not only teach me how to get the fly in the water but he explained the why's and how's of fly fishing which has given me a solid foundation to build upon when I return to Florida and dust off my fly gear. I would highly recommend him and Colorado Anglers as all of the staff were warm, welcoming, and professional. They made this Fathers day one that I will remember for years to come and hopefully one day pass on that knowledge to my daughter. I will use them on future visits for all my fly fishing needs...they are the real deal!

Dillon Reservoir, sometimes referred to as Lake Dillon, is located in Summit County, Colorado, south of I-70 and bordered by the towns of Frisco, Silverthorne, and Dillon. It is a reservoir for the city of Denver, and its waters are under the control of Denver Water. Popular ski areas are close to the reservoir, including Copper Mountain, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Breckenridge. During the winter months, ice fishing and snowmobiling are common activities. For warmer months, the towns of Dillon and Frisco each have marinas on the reservoir. The Dillon Marina is open pretty much during the season and hundreds of sailboats can be seen docked or sailing. Due to Dillon Reservoir's proximity to the towns of Dillon, Silverthorne, and Frisco, the lake has many lodging, camping, and RV facilities. The reservoir has a popular 18 miles paved bike path that winds around the entire reservoir. The path can be accessed at any point around the reservoir. The views from any angle are worth the drive to this beautiful lake.

We found our 22 foot pontoon in perfect condition, and the craft performed beautifully during a tour of Lake Dillon that lasted over two hours. The instructions provided by the Marina staff were clear, concise, and thorough, allowing an inexperienced "Captain" to perform his duties at a high level. Most impressive, however, was how the Marina staff handled a crisis. Into the third hour of our rental, a thunderstorm came sweeping across Lake Dillon, raising serious whitecaps driven by strong, unpredictable winds. We headed a full throttle for the Marina Landing, where there were several boats in line, struggling to be secured to the dock despite the winds. With absolute aplomb, the Marina staff instructed us in steering the boat safely to dockside. Before the first drops of rain were falling, we were safely in our car. Not only did we catch trout ALL DAY with his guidance, he taught us a lot of techniques and coached us through the mistakes we made. It was the perfect trip for getting started with this hobby. The week of our trip there was a lot of rain that effected some of the fishing locations but Sam was very communicative about finding the best spot for the rainy circumstances. He gave us a few different options of where we could fish and we ultimately went with his recommendation which was fishing the rivers in Silverthorne. We got even more out of it than expected. We are new to fly fishing and had only had a couple hours of instruction prior to this trip. We did have most of our own gear, but I needed waders and boots. They have a very good rental fleet of waders (Simms G3) and boots, so you weren't wearing cheap gear, which was nice. We met up with our guide Ryan first thing in the morning at the shop and decided to fish the Blue just north of Silverthorne and in town. We had a blast with Ryan! We were looking for more of an educational trip, as well as hoping to get on some fish. Ryan was great in explaining how to read the river and present the fly in the best way as well as different knot methods which we didn't know before. He didn't get into super technical casting methods, it was more about getting the fly where you wanted it and then presenting it so hopefully the fish would take it. You could tell Ryan was super passionate about fishing and helping people out. We had a blast. The best part of the day was that my wife caught her first fish ever and now she is really "hooked". I can't thank Ryan and the other shop guys enough for a great day.
