We booked with Minturn Anglers based on their Yelp Reviews and after speaking with the manager of their store. We chose the fly fishing and gourmet meal, and both were fantastic. Our guides took us to private waters were there were no others. Then they spent 4 hours teaching us the basics of fly fishing, staying close by, constantly giving us tips and feedback about our technique and being there for every fish we caught. I highly recommend Minturn Anglers!

Had a great summer half day with Cole Tretter. Shop was easy to find and is really great, staff were welcoming, and gear gear was ready. It was my son's first fly fishing trip and he enjoyed everything about it: the drive, the scenery, learning from Cole, and catching fish. When we are in the Vail Valley we will be back without a doubt.

I paid $400 for a wade trip with a guide and he took us to a spot that smelled bad behind a trailer park where we didn't catch a single fish. Not one fish in 4 hours. Behind a trailer park. That smelled very bad. Not a fun day, to say the least. A waste of time and money.

I had a great trip. My guide, Alec, was a true Outdoorsman and sportsman. Being an novice at fly-fishing he was very patient. It doesn't hurt that the fishing was awesome and we netted 15 fish in a matter of a couple of hours. Alec knew where the big ones were hiding and we caught several that were real trophies. Highly recommended, ask for Alec.

I am a repeat client of Minturn Anglers over the past seven years and will not fish with any other group in the Valley. These guys have put me on a lot of great fish over the years and the guides are top notch. Each year they exceed my expectations. This is a family place for sure. These guys put my son on his first trout a few years ago and they are extremely kid friendly. Can't say enough good things about this group, it will not disappoint.

Nick with Minturn is a great guide. We Went fishing with Nick two days straight and had a great time. Nick picked us up at our hotel on time and ready to go and worked very hard to show us a fun time fishing. Highly recommend Nick and Minturn.

For the summer months, visitors can rent a bike for any terrain. I wanted to see what the hype was about, so decided to try an e-bike. The bike was a very clean, class one e-bike suitable for biking/walking paths. The Bosch e-bike system was easy to use and allowed for quick change riding mode (manual, sport, turbo, etc) and being able to switch on the fly was a huge advantage when it came to riding the steep hills (going up both ways.....lol). The rental process is quick (especially since Epic Mountain has my profile) and the staff was really helpful, giving me a quick rundown on how to operate the bike. Rental rates are by half day (4 hours) or full day. Take note that folks can save 20% when reserving online versus in-store. The pricing is a little more expensive than if I had rented an e-bike thru our hotel, but Vail Sports has better maintained equipment. Rental prices do include a helmet and each bike has its own handlebar bag. I was able to ride thru the town, in the residential area and up/down Gore Creek Trail. The latter is a safe option when going between East and West Vail and does provide beautiful scenery. Upon returning the bike, the staff was also very friendly in answering my questions, helping me to decide whether or not I am going to invest in a purchase. I must say the pedal assist on some hills was a fantastic bonus to my ride. This was a great "touring" experience while visiting Vail and with the friendly and very knowledgeable staff, I would definitely recommend Vail Sports for all season equipment rental!

I hate leaving bad reviews- but buyers beware of ordering for shipping!…read more We ordered a a pair of skis and UPS delivered it in a box that was completely crushed and split open. I could see the skis before even opening the package. Of course I wanted to return it as I don't even know the condition/ how compromised the skis were. I immediately sent photos with delivery timestamps and regardless of how UPS shipped it- the way the company handled it was so rude. The Director of Operations called me the next morning and did not apologize once. He was so condescending and said he already discussed this with me via email. The packaging was so compromised that I couldn't even reuse it to ship the skis back safely- he asked me why I can't you just tape up the sides and ship it back. I kept trying to explain that I was nervous to returned expensive equipment in a completely damaged box- I wanted to ensure I got a refund and prevent further damage to their afraid these expensive skis he didn't care- so condescending and rude - No accountability. No ownership. No solution. Just deflection and attitude. If this is how they handle a straightforward shipping issue, imagine how they handle real problems. Ski equipment isn't cheap, and customers deserve better than being told to fix the company's mistake with a roll of tape. I'm shipping it back as is and if it's damaged further it's not my problem. I will not be ordering from them again, and I will not be recommending them to friends or fellow skiers. There are plenty of other retailers who value their customers & their equipment.

Fred was patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely compassionate. He listened carefully as I explained the pain I've experienced in ski boots for years--even those from expensive specialty shops. For the first time, I truly felt heard and understood. I have skied my entire life, starting at age four, and I had never known skiing without boot pain. Fred took the time to explore multiple solutions and never once rushed me. He genuinely cared about getting it right. Some shops don't seem to take female skiers seriously, but Fred absolutely did. I hadn't even planned to buy boots that day; I was just browsing. But thanks to Fred's expertise, I ended up purchasing the best boots I've ever owned. I literally cried when I skied in them--no pain and no break-in period. I had resigned myself to the idea that I'd need $1,500 custom boots forever, but Fred found the perfect pair for me for just $600, tax included. Because my experience was so incredible, I insisted my husband return the following weekend to buy his boots from Fred as well. Everyone at Sun & Ski is kind, knowledgeable, and treats customers with genuine care--better than I've ever been treated at far "fancier" stores. We will be buying our boots from Sun & Ski for life. Thank you, Fred. We appreciate you more than you know.
