Once we were able to find a place to park, I really enjoyed this place! It was a gorgeous weekend so it was busy busy, with a music festival going on at the amphitheater. I did not try out the tiki bar but that was full of people so I can only imagine how great it was! There were also a couple food trucks in the area as well. I found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating in every way needed. We've had the boat serviced and they do a good job and keep good records, that go past me with the boat. I was originally told by a Baymont Inn employee that it was nicer than the Frisco Marina, so we planned on going, but a different Baymont Inn employee the next morning told me there was no Dillon Marina. The latter one was incorrect. I only discovered the Dillon Marina because I was looking for a gym (Elevation Fitness), and I was only looking for that gym because the gym I went to the previous day (Snap Fitness) wasn't answering the phone and nobody would be able to let me in. Fate led me to this town, where The String Cheese Incident was playing. I had never heard of them, but now I listen to them sometimes while working. Anyway, the marina is beautiful. I wish I had time to experience it with some kind of activity, but just seeing it was enough (for now). They have everything from paddle-boarding to sailboats to motorboats. We rented a pontoon for 8 people and the pontoon was very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. We rented the pontoon for 3 hours, but a storm rolled in an hour before our time was up. I called to check in with staff since we saw lightening. They recommended we return to the marina as soon as possible and they would refund our final hour. It was no hassle and I felt that they put my safety first above making money. One caveat, they charge a minimum of 2 hours no matter what. So, if a storm rolled in and you only had 2 hours, but lost an hour, you still might have to pay for 2 hours. Either way, for us, it was a lovely and slightly adventurous day on the water. read more

They have a website reservation and documentation site that is flawless, allowing the user to easily make all preparations for boat rental and security before arriving at the Marina. Confirmations and reminders come by email and text, and provide all the details that would be required. We found our 22 foot pontoon in perfect condition, and the craft performed beautifully during a tour of Lake Dillon that lasted over two hours. The instructions provided by the Marina staff were clear, concise, and thorough, allowing an inexperienced "Captain" to perform his duties at a high level. Most impressive, however, was how the Marina staff handled a crisis. Into the third hour of our rental, a thunderstorm came sweeping across Lake Dillon, raising serious whitecaps driven by strong, unpredictable winds. We headed a full throttle for the Marina Landing, where there were several boats in line, struggling to be secured to the dock despite the winds. With absolute aplomb, the Marina staff instructed us in steering the boat safely to dockside. Before the first drops of rain were falling, we were safely in our car. The Lake Dillon Marina's been run by the same set of folks for ages now. If I described them as "grumpy" that would be overly generous. Most of the worker-bees are fine folks, but management needs a serious attitude adjustment. Never a smile. Service is always a hassle, and gratitude/appreciation for long-time boaters? Fuh-getta-bout-it. Why 2 stars instead of 1? 'Cause they're lucky to have picked a drop dead gorgeous place to work. On the other hand, Pug Ryan's Over-The-Rail Pale Ale, as served at dockside at the outside Tiki bar by the local hottie, is a treat-and-a-half. And sittin' in the sunlight after a great morning's sail with the snow-covered Ten Mile range sitting pretty at the far end of the lake would put a smile on even Ebenezer Scrooge's face. read more

The staff at Dillon Marina are consummate pros. Easy check in, an informative 2 minute video and we were on the water. The 20' pontoon rental was low end pricewise, but it was plenty big for 8 adults, in PERFECT condition and squeaky clean. The price for a 2 hour cruise around the lake was less than $200, and included clear instructions, plenty of assistance from the dock hands and fuel. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a great time, and they certainly succeeded. We were able to navigate way up into the various bays and enjoyed amazing views. We felt safe and relaxed the entire time. Our only regret was that we limited our time to 2 hours. Next time we're going to splurge for the whole day, which doesn't' cost much more. We booked a boat for 14 people for the 4th of July weekend, unfortunately due to COVID the Marina contacted me to let me know that only a max of 10 people could be on the boat to adhere to safety regulations. The Marina was amazing to work with and offered a bit of a discount on the 14 person since we had to leave out 4 people from our party and there were no smaller boats available to rent for a lesser cost. On top of that, the Marina did a great job enforcing social distancing in the office, docks, etc. The staff were all super helpful and easy to work with, making our experience extremely enjoyable, even with rough water/storms forcing us to stay at the dock for the first 30 min of our trip. Lake Dillon is a perfect place to enjoy a day on the boat, highly recommend the Dillon marina for any booking option!!! read more
