I was ripped off, insulted, and threatened with physical violence…read more $1,900 for a spark plug replacement?! Absolute robbery. This is a $500 job, $600 max. I checked with other shops in the area. This is not even in the ballpark of a fair price. They are lying about providing an estimate prior to service. That never happened. They threatened to "kick my a**" because I was attempting to argue these charges. They called me a dbag, told me to F myself. All sorts of profanity and insults. Just an absolutely insane way to treat a customer who has brought business to them for years. Never again. My fault for trusting them to conduct their business in an honest manner. I've taken vehicles here before so I wasn't expecting to get ripped off and extorted like this. I certainly was not expecting to be threatened with violence. It is unfathomable to me how a business owner could think that scamming, stealing from, insulting, and threatening working people in their own community will be a successful business strategy. If this is how they treat locals, imagine how they treat tourists... Edit: the business owner is blatantly lying in their reply to this review. I WAS NEVER PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE. Stop lying. Charge me a fair price, and don't threaten to beat me up when I complain about you scamming me. It's really not that difficult. Just be a decent human being. What is wrong with these people? This place used to be ok. Sadly, not anymore. I dont know what changed, but do yourself a favor and steer clear.

Came to this shop for a couple reasons, first because of the high star rating and second, their…read moreability to get me in within a reasonable time as I was traveling in the area on a hunting trip. Everything started really well, customer service lady was friendly enough and took great notes about my request and issue. I had already diagnosed my main problem, which was a transfer case chain needing replaced. They quoted $1600 for the labor because I already had the part which was fine. I dropped the vehicle off on a Monday and they said it would be done by Friday. Perfect timing because I had plans to leave Saturday morning. A couple days go by and I call them to get an update, this was Wednesday afternoon. They said they had it on the schedule to be worked on Thursday and again would be done by Friday. Thursday comes and I call again to find out about progress and plan logistics of picking the vehicle up on Saturday as they are closed weekends. The lady has me wait and I speak to the "mechanic" working on my vehicle. He tells me my transfer case is "trashed" , they found chunks of metal (duh probably from the chain) and that I need to replace the whole transfer case with a new one that they have to order and it won't be in for a few days. I ask how far along they are in the repair and if they have the transfer case open. They respond that they haven't gotten that far and that the transfer case was empty of fluid but that they hadn't opened it up, because they thought it would be a waste of labor since they said I needed a new unit. This was a huge red flag. How do you diagnose a transfer case without opening it up. Short answer is you can't. After a few minutes of them trying to convince me to spend $3600 on a new transfer case and discourage me from driving the vehicle. I decline that service and told them to put fluid back in the transfer case and that I'll take the vehicle back home at my own risk and fix it when I return to Arizona. Long story short they charge their "diagnostic fee" if you can even call it that. (Extortion fee) and they charged me for 2 quarts of transfer case fluid even though dry capacity for my transfer case is only 1quart, and I take my vehicle. I then proceeded to drive my vehicle back to Arizona 800 miles and schedule a service at a local shop in AZ. I drive the vehicle for 2 more weeks daily back and forth to work with minimal issues. The shop in Arizona charged $1100. It was in fact the transfer case chain was worn and "loose" the shop also replaced the 3 seals for the output and input shafts ($100). And inspected the gears and bearing for any excessive wear and found the transfer case to be a good shape. I don't know if AutoMotives LLC just doesn't like some jobs and if they don't they try and upsell to discourage or they just do this to unknowing people to try and get more profit. All I know is that I was very disappointed in their dishonesty and I'm glad I listened to my gut when the red flags started going up. Just wish it wouldn't have cost me my time and unnecessary money for nothing. I really wish they would have just fixed what I asked and they would have gotten my $1600. Instead they tried to pull a fast one, either out of ignorance or actual mechanic knowledge or lack of wanting the work, or maybe because I was from out of state.. who knows. Buyer beware.

We immediately called Summit Ford and asked if there was someone how could help us. They said they would try to squeeze us in. 60 miles later, we arrived at summit ford only to find out there may or may not be a diesel technician in on Thursday (this was Monday at 8:30am)but unsure. That would have been nice to know beforehand. The guy behind the desk was unhelpful, would hardly acknowledge us and didn't even have the decency to recommend another local business. They recommended WE DRIVE AN HOUR AND HALF TO FLAT LAND, and see if it would work it self out. WHAT?!? Absolutely, Ludicrous. At that time, I just started making phone calls to local mechanics. Thank god we stumbled on western Summit Mobile Service! They answered and immediately said to bring our truck right over. We were greeted by Matthew who came out to the truck and started working on the truck right away. Not only very professional but the friendliest of guys! Rocky came out and helped as well. We also learned that the truck would not have made it to this "flat land" summit ford "recommended". Unfortunately, after working on the truck for 30 minutes, they came to the conclusion that we needed some additional equipment but they graciously recommended another local business across the street and didn't even charge us a fee. We truly appreciate their willingness to help.

I first contacted SAB at the end of August, I'm a local and they had good reviews. I initially called and emailed them to confirm they had capacity and sent them the damages estimate from the insurance appraiser. Mitchel said "yeah it should be fine, let me look over the appraisal and I'll call you back"... and then never got back to me. After 3 weeks of waiting and asking when I could drop off my car, we decided to drive to his shop and speak in person, and ultimately left it there with him to begin working on it. Mitchell said this would be a big repair, with far more damages than the 8k estimated and would take 6 weeks. After 3 weeks we called for an update, in which Mitchell said it would actually be 16k in repairs and that he was submitting the paperwork to my insurance today. A few days after not seeing any further correspondence, we call Mitchell again and he tells us the insurance company has asked for more photos which he is sending today. A few more days later, we call our insurance company to ask what the hold up was about. Turns out he has not submitted anything. So we call Mitchell back, now frustrated, and he claims the insurance website/portal was difficult. We decided to wait one more week for updates/progress since I was out of town traveling for work. Now late October, our insurance company has not heard a thing from Mitchell, they call him directly to try to assist and it is decided that my car will be towed down to Denver to a different auto body shop. My car arrives the next day and we find out that Mitchell had never even taken my car apart to inspect the 8k in addition damages that he claimed it needed. The new body shop in Denver immediately took it apart and order parts and said it will be done in 2 weeks. My conclusion here is that Michell is a liar and I would not recommend anyone take their car here for service.
