We were driving from Austin,TX to Buena Vista when our diesel truck got an alert for "exhaust filter overload". We immediately called Summit Ford and asked if there was someone how could help us. They said they would try to squeeze us in. 60 miles later, we arrived at summit ford only to find out there may or may not be a diesel technician in on Thursday (this was Monday at 8:30am)but unsure. That would have been nice to know beforehand. The guy behind the desk was unhelpful, would hardly acknowledge us and didn't even have the decency to recommend another local business. They recommended WE DRIVE AN HOUR AND HALF TO FLAT LAND, and see if it would work it self out. WHAT?!? Absolutely, Ludicrous. At that time, I just started making phone calls to local mechanics. Thank god we stumbled on western Summit Mobile Service! They answered and immediately said to bring our truck right over. We were greeted by Matthew who came out to the truck and started working on the truck right away. Not only very professional but the friendliest of guys! Rocky came out and helped as well. We also learned that the truck would not have made it to this "flat land" summit ford "recommended". Unfortunately, after working on the truck for 30 minutes, they came to the conclusion that we needed some additional equipment but they graciously recommended another local business across the street and didn't even charge us a fee. Was experiencing some strange revving and we called and asked if we could stop by as we passed through to see if they could quickly diagnose the issue. While they specialize and work on big trucks, they were super nice and helpful trying to diagnose the issue with our Nissan Rogue. Spent time with us, searched for possible recalls. Net net. These guys are the real deal, need more nice people like this around - if we did, the world would be a better place. read more

The hourly rate here is a little high on the weekends, but I'm pretty sure this place saved my life merely by being open on Sundays. My wheels hadn't been properly ratcheted down and well... I don't like to think about how that could have ended. You'll pay a bit more for the service, but be glad you have this place as an option when you need it. read more

Hit a piece of concrete coming down I-70 from the tunnel. Bent two rims. They came this morning, picked up my car, straightened the rims, re-balanced the tires, test drove and then picked me up so I could go to the office and settle up. $66! I was thrilled. read more

I described my specific and only slightly unusual tire type three different times to two separate people, asking specifically to talk to a mechanic instead of just a reception person (as this was very important to get right) i provided a very detailed description of exactly what I needed, I stressed that i was in a bit of a hurry and needed to know for sure I could be taken care of. I then kept them on the phone for an additional minute or two to state my request essentially a 4th time. When I showed up, they said they couldn't help me. The only reason they get two stars is that i got good vibes off the people I talked with. everything else about my experience was an overcharged nightmare that kept me stranded for three days longer than I should have been. They called me once to say that parts were 4-7 days away, but they could overnight them, and they arrived three days later. They did not deliver anything as promised and were incredibly frustrating to get a hold of.. in fact impossible to talk to the shop without walking in. These guys are truly professionals. My 2002 Ford Excursion developed a fuel leak yesterday in single digit temps and 1,200 from home. These guys jumped on it and had me out by noon. Ford place around corner couldn't even look at it until tomorrow, Friday. Not sure why as their service was empty and the attendant there was asleep after being put on hold by someone else. My car overheated on way up to the Eisenhower tunnel. I was towed to Summit Mobile Service thinking my car was going to sit until the next day (it was Sunday, Jan 1st). Instead Dan met me there and took my car in right away and immediately started diagnosing my car and letting me know what was going on. He ruled out the water pump, thermostat and head gasket (expensive items to fix). Once he got it going, he test drove it without even charging me for his time. I was coming out of a meeting the Saturday of Labor Day, when my car wouldn't start. After push starting it, I was frantically calling around trying to find a mechanic that was open. Summit Mobile Service was open and said to bring my car by and they'll diagnose it right away. They were able to save me money and get my car fixed that day! I have a local delivery business, and requested Summit Mobiles service for a truck that was having rear brake problems. I completely got overcharged by their labor & service charges alone of $700 plus. Total bill was 1900.00 & I even bought the replacdment caliper myself. I will never use, trust, or recommend these mechanics to even my worst enemy. This guy's will get what they deserve in some time. Do Not Ever call them for a service call unless you want to be ripped off. Total highway robbery and will keep your truck out of service for four days. read more

My son and I were taking our very first road trip going from Las Vegas to Estes Park, when our tires were registering "low" on my dashboard. Being a new car and new tires, I was concerned, so I pulled in to Western Summit, and they were SO friendly and accommodating! Kevin checked all of my tires, and made sure I was safe and good to go. He explained that the drastic drop in temperature (it was 28 degrees that morning, and there had just been a winter storm) from Las Vegas's 90 degrees two days before, not to mention that altitude plays a role with tire pressure (I had NO clue about ANY of that!), he said, my tires were only at 30, so he filled them to 45! He also suggested that I raise my car's suspension to HIGH, as it was set at LOW and my tires were very close to my car's frame, and with the winter weather, it wasn't good for my car. So, when Kevin was sure he had me all taken care of, I asked, "how much do I owe you?" He said, "nothing...it was just air." I tried so hard to hand him some cash, but he wouldn't take a cent. Again, he said, "I can't take that, it was just air!" Well, it was SO much more than "air" to me. Kevin not only fixed the air pressure in my tires, he gave me advice that probably kept my son and I safe as we continued on our trip to Estes Park. He even made sure that we knew where we were going and which route might be the best to take, and he provided us with great directions! It was invaluable, and the true service he provided was like you might have found in the good ole days, as you rarely find that in today's world. He really cared, and it was NOT about the money.
