Outstanding service! My family got caught in the engineered traffic jam at the Eisenhower Tunnel on a busy ski Sunday, and our Toyota Sequoia overheated. We had it towed to Summit Automotive, and by Monday, they knew we were stranded and made us their top priority. The staff was professional, and the owner was fantastic. Great service, fair pricing, and a fast turnaround! read more

Just had my SUV taken care of at Summit Automotive Group in Silverthorne with Jim Tinsley. Had new snow tires put on and they added the winter formula for the wiper fluid & coolant too. I was in and out of there within an hour! They have competitive prices, a friendly staff and Jim is a fantastic business owner who knows how to treat his customers right so they always come back! He even made sure my brakes were in good condition and checked the milage to see if I needed an oil change too (all ok there!). Go in and see Jim now since its time to get the car serviced before winter. This way, you don't have a vehicle breakdown or get stuck in the snow or end up in a ditch driving with the wrong tires on! Be prepared, its going to snow on Thursday! Diane W. Customer since 2001 Silverthorne, CO 10/9/2023 read more

They worked on my 1984 Vanagon with a Subaru enjoy. Excellent job and helped me in a quick and professional manner.

Summit Automotive is our go to place for all types of automotive service. We have purchased tires, had engine work performed, had our horse trailer repaired and do all our oil changes at their Grease Monkey subsidiary. They are terrific. All work performed has been timely, excellent and reasonably priced. Craig & Lisa Robelen read more

I have used this company now a couple of times for my daughters car. I actually own car washes and auto repair centers in another state. Their service and pricing has been exceptional both times. You can really tell a difference when an owner is actively involved. It makes a big difference. They do a great job. read more

This place saved the day and was so fast! We got a nail in tire and were losing pressure down the mountain, we pulled into another place in town, they said 2 hour wait and after looking at their sketchy reviews, we drove around to Summit Automotive and they were fast, friendly and cheap! And most of all they were an honest place to go. We got lucky! They saved the day and the rest of our vacation! Highly recommend!!!! read more

Excellent service and employees were nice/accommodating!! I got a flat tire in the midst of the snow tire season. No one could me...but they took me in and fixed the tire and I was on my way...Super grateful! Thank you Summit Automotive! read more

I have been coming to these folks for all my auto needs for over 15 years, and they are simply the best. I recently brought in my '12 Honda Pilot to swap out tires and asked if my studded snows had any life left. Many shops would have seized the opportunity to sell me new tires, but they have true integrity, a growing rarity in businesses these days, and told me they had at least another year. They always charge exactly their cost for parts, and their labor costs are more than reasonable. Honesty and expertise go a long way... read more

Stopped in without an appointment with a flat on my rental vehicle. They had it fixed in less than an hour and we are able to continue our vacation. They are very friendly and a pleasure to work with. 4 or 5 thumbs up for them. Thanks!! read more

I had them install a rear bumper. a week later the left side was completely loose. the mechanic told me that the bolts were missing in the kit I bought. I told him that the parts box was factory sealed. so either they installed it without telling me half the bolts were missing, and charged me without informing me, or they lied because they failed to tighten them. so they lied either way. the actual truth is that they failed to tighten them in the first place, because I tested it when they finished and it was tight at that time. I assume they lied because they didn't have bolts, or didn't want to do the work. this type of behavior is getting more common. don't use them. go to a different crook. I would respect them if they called me, confessed and had true remorse, and changed their behavior. read more

Thank you so much to the guys, Raul and Adam, at Summit Automotive Group! They helped me out last minute and were amazing guys. I will see you for future work on my car!! read more

We got a flat tire and called in for an appointment. They could take me right away, and let me stay in the car with my toddler. There was a huge nail puncture which they patched. However, the next day the tire pressure was down again. I went to another tire shop and we had to redo it. read more

Jim and Shawna are amazing. Very kind, detail and service oriented. Always happy to please in an industry that can bring bad news at times. Nice... professional... easy to deal with...if I would need work done in the future I would return...,...

Our family experienced a flat tire in Summit County while out for an early season Ski Trip. I knew I had to get the tire repaired for the drive back home to Wisconsin by the end of the week. I realized that getting a tire fixed in early December in this county is near impossible. Jim, the owner made a time slot open late in the day because he knew we needed to have a solid tire for our drive back to Wisconsin. He handled the tire warranty with Bridgestone & got me back on the road with a fair price. I listened to very satisfied retuning customers coming in to pick up their vehicles. Great customer service & quality work! Also shout out to Adam. Thank you! Brett H read more

I normally take my VW to the saMe dealership for service but when I was told I needed new brakes I couldn't afford their quote. My mother and father in law go to Summit auto and recommended that I check out their offerings. Sure enough they got a much better quote. The guys that's really working there are super great and had the car done and ready within 2 and a half hours! Fantastic work. read more

These guys are the best. Honest and expert. I can't recommend enough! They do excellent work.

I have just had two major repairs done on my Pathfinder, first the catalytic converter and then the exhaust/muffler, and I am very happy with both the quality of the repairs and the customer service. The owner, Jim, is very professional and courteous. I find their estimates honest and accurate. Compared to the other nightmare experiences I have had in Frisco and Breck, this shop is by far the BEST IN SUMMIT COUNTY!! read more

About 2 years ago I changed over from having my car serviced by the local dealer to SAG. They are awesome! Some of the work I have had done included: - Oil changes - Tire Rotations - Brakes* - Clutch* Oh by the way...the * is where I saved substantial $$ by using SAG over the dealer. Not to mention that if I go in and explain the problem, they LOOK at it first and tell me if it is really time to do the change. For example, my clutch - they said "yes, we can do it now, but you'll get another 2,000 miles out of it if you just want to come back then". I don't drive much so that meant an extra 4 months to put off the work and save up the money. In addition, if you think something is wrong, they are very clear to let you know if it is a safety thing or just something annoying. In other words, they let you decide the critically of what is being done. This group is interested in building a long term relationship with you and I like that. They are honest and although not the cheapest place in town, definitely reasonably priced. read more

Please NEVER COME HERE. I just finished filing a police report against this company. The owner and manager is the worst possible person to ever have to do business with. My car broke down on I-70. The tow truck driver recommended this place (first mistake) They said they could see my car today. Asked me to fill out my info and he'd call me tomorrow about when he was gonna look at it. I never received a phone call. So I called myself that next afternoon. The car had already been "looked at". He said it was done. Not being a professional in car slang. I asked what does that mean? He further tried to explain there was nothing I could do, and that my best bet was to sell it to him for $100.00. You're kidding me right ? I went down the next day to tow my car out of his garage because obviously he was gonna be no help. Guess what I found ? A car without its bumper attached anymore and half of my air condition on the floor of the parking lot the size of a basketball. Sadly they were closed so I couldn't get any answers. I called back to ask what had happened to my car. He said nothing happened. That's how they found it. He refuses to pay for the damages He refuses to awknowledge the damages occurred on his property He refuses to look at the cameras to see if someone broke in or hit my car. This man owes me a lot of money. And he's gonna pay. His name is Jim. read more

I had a horrible experience. I took my car in to get the brakes fixed. They told me it would be $400 to fix them. I come to pick up my car and the brakes were exactly how I left them. They still squeak and do not work properly. They tried to tell me that the squeaking was normal and nothing was wrong. I took my car to another service station and they replaced everything. The other service station stated that everything needed to be replaced. I was ripped off! I live and work for a prominent company in the county and I will tell everyone I know and work with not to take their cars and trucks here to be serviced. Very disappointed! read more

Jim is a wonderful owner and truly cares. I have been there several times and I am always satisfied.

My visit to Summit Automotive was outstanding. While on vacation and 1000 miles from home I discovered a grinding noise in my brakes. I took the car to SAG for an inspection. In spite of their day's busy schedule, they worked me in and got the inspection done. Nothing wrong, may have been a rock, no damage, no charge. I am forever grateful to the mechanics at SAG for the piece of mind that I had on the long drive home. THANK YOU!! read more

These folks are all very accommodating, friendly, helpful and honest. I have always gone to the dealership to service my Jeep since I bought it brand new in 2011. I had so many bad experiences with incompetence and lack of knowledge from the dealerships in Summit and in Denver that I decided to take a chance on these guys since they were highly recommended. After buying tires, having a few minor issues repaired and an oil change, I like how they do business here. They take the time to listen to my issues and try to solve the problems without bankrupting me in the process. I used to work in the auto industry and I know when I am being played. I never got that feeling at SAG. Thanks Jim and everyone at SAG for your good work! read more

I have lived in Summit County for twenty years and own a small fleet of commercial passenger vehicles. Jim has always taken fine care of me and worked within often limited time frames to get the jobs done. Have been having our 2 family cars serviced here for about 8 years, and most recently had an emergency repair done here on the truck of a visiting family friend. I can't say enough good about Jim and his staff. I have seen accurate diagnosis of problems, first-rate (guaranteed) repair done on schedule and at a reasonable cost. As a "local" I also use Jim for all routine auto service. I have NEVER felt that this shop did more OR less work than was necessary. Lobby is comfortable with coffee, wi-fi, local newspaper and current magazines. read more

At the end of a recent ski trip to Copper Mountain, I had to have my car battery jumped. Because of the age of the battery, I thought it needed replacement. I stopped at SAG and told the manager that I needed to have a new battery installed. The service department immediately ran a diagnostic test and found my battery to be in good shape, and I wasn't charged for this service. I have had no further issues with the battery. I am impressed that this business did not sell me something I did not need. read more

I had my car checked at Summit Automotive Group and Jim told me my car was a danger on the road. According to Jim I had to change my brake pads, rotors and ball joints. All together a $1700 repair. I made an appointment for a week later because Jim had to order the parts. I showed up at 8 am to drop off my car and Jim told me the parts were not there. (why didn't he call me the day before). Since I already had taken the day off and I need a (safe) car for work I went to Big O Tire in Frisco to change my brakes. I had two mechanics look at my brakes and ball joins and the ensured me everything was fine! My brakes were at 50%! I called Jim to cancel my appointment. No excuse, nothing! Sorry Jim, I can't trust you anymore! read more

I haven't experienced customer service like I have with Summit Automotive is a very long time!

Jim and team service my car(s). I had snow tires put on this winter. When I changed over in the spring the guys noticed that I had bubbles. This was concerning because my car was brand new. Jim worked his relationships to get me 4 new tires under my warranty. Audi would not do this for me. But Jim did. He takes very good care of his local customers! Highly recommend. read more
