Josh and the SCART team were such a fantastic help to my wife & I during our recent trip from KS to Breckenridge. Our 2019 RAV4 literally died in the Eisenhower tunnel. Luckily it restarted and we made it out of the tunnel and on to Breckenridge. Josh and his team diagnosed the issue quickly and gave genuine, real next-door-neighbor friendly type advice. They went above and beyond. Huge thanks to he and the team for being straight up, trustworthy guys. read more

I was ripped off, insulted, and threatened with physical violence. $1,900 for a spark plug replacement?! Absolute robbery. This is a $500 job, $600 max. I checked with other shops in the area. This is not even in the ballpark of a fair price. They are lying about providing an estimate prior to service. That never happened. They threatened to "kick my a**" because I was attempting to argue these charges. They called me a dbag, told me to F myself. All sorts of profanity and insults. Just an absolutely insane way to treat a customer who has brought business to them for years. Never again. My fault for trusting them to conduct their business in an honest manner. I've taken vehicles here before so I wasn't expecting to get ripped off and extorted like this. I certainly was not expecting to be threatened with violence. It is unfathomable to me how a business owner could think that scamming, stealing from, insulting, and threatening working people in their own community will be a successful business strategy. If this is how they treat locals, imagine how they treat tourists... Edit: the business owner is blatantly lying in their reply to this review. I WAS NEVER PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE. Stop lying. Charge me a fair price, and don't threaten to beat me up when I complain about you scamming me. It's really not that difficult. Just be a decent human being. What is wrong with these people? This place used to be ok. Sadly, not anymore. I dont know what changed, but do yourself a favor and steer clear. read more

I was hauling a horse trailer over vail pass and shredded a tire on the trailer. I called this business, they arrived in a few minutes and shortly after I was on my way. I brought my Toyota Highlander to Ski Country Auto Repair because my brake pedal was making a funny sounds. Communicating, and setting up the service, and timeline of service were all excellent. They did a general vehicle inspection, and determined that my brakes were in operating conditions and gave me a many suggestions, how to improve my vehicle. However, they were also perfectly fine with my decision to not get any repairs. The service was fairly priced and I highly recommend their professional conduct and service. read more

While driving back to Utah from Colorado my tie rod broke/came loose and I came to a sudden halt. In about 30 minutes, I was towed to their shop where they proceeded to do a thorough inspection above and beyond what was required. Josh had the foresight to ask if there were any recent repairs done and it looked likely that that previous repair shop had not tightened something right when they replaced a boot and another replacement for a power steering pump. He called them and they agreed to pay for the repair which saved me about $780! Wow! Better yet they found all the parts that same day and I was back on the road and made it back home that evening. They are definitely organized and thorough with a business philosophy that I think has made them very successful. Anytime you have this many ratings for a repair shop and they are 4.0 or higher you know you are in the right place. I got lucky that the universe sent me to them. My thanks to Josh, Carlos, Davion, and to all the others whose names I don't remember. read more

Mike was the real MVP during our trip to Denver. We had quite a nasty accident, and he took care of us from start to finish. The truck who hit us was incredibly uncooperative, but Mike help us coordinate with the State Patrol to tell the truck driver where to go. Mike let us wait in his truck and told us exactly what happened, even correctly predicted that the truck driver would get a citation for a defective vehicle. I wish all towing companies were like this one, and I wish all people were like Mike! Can't speak highly enough of him. My only piece of feedback is that Mike should have been wearing a halo because he was literally our guardian angel! read more

Ski Country - Auto Repair Near Me - Frisco, Colorado

Zero communication and disrespectful. Written in their notes was my comment "ticking noise, control arm has been fixed so it must be the axel" I told them all I wanted was a quote to fix the axel. they called me telling me my estimate was $4000, and sent me everything else that my car needs fixed. I came back to get my car because it was outrageous what they were telling me to fix (parts that have been replaced couple months before and we're only trying to up-sale me) and they told me I owed $235 for the diagnostic test. I told them I never approved a test, nobody told me them looking at my car was going to cost anything and all I wanted was a quote on the part, they refused to give me back my car until I payed. read more

Our car was overheating even after we added coolant. We pulled off to have it looked at and were told that they were too busy to help but the man told us to try putting coolant directly into the radiator. That took care of the problem and we were able to make it home. They were clearly swamped and didn't have to help but, clearly they know their stuff and offered help!! Could not be more grateful. read more

We had a mechanical issue that required the car to be tower from Avon to Lakewood. Our local AAA provider would not do the tow, but Ski Country was happy to help. Our driver D was the most pleasant tow driver I have very met. He was empathetic and great to chat with on the ride down. When we got to our destination, he made sure our ride was there before he left. I would recommend them to anyone needing service in the mountains. read more

Can't speak highly enough of this business. Josh was exceptional. He coached me through a difficult decision making process and saved me well over $200. His objective was always an efficient repair job and customer happiness (note: I didn't say satisfaction; I said happiness!) He explained issues clearly and went beyond the call of duty in even helping with the car. The technician Eric, was also impressive. He professionally answered my questions and made me feel well taken care of - which I was. This place has both my trust and respect. Thanks guys! You're great. read more

Run while you can! Dishonesty is something they do best. Wait for the appointment for the other folks in town. There is a reason the Google reviews say they are the best. Ski Country will not tell you they charge for estimates (they do) over $160 just to LOOK at your brakes - then they refuse to give you your car back unless you pay. Run Run Run and tell your friends. read more

On 11/4, I found a pretty serious issue with a tire. I checked with both obvious choices in Frisco, neither of which could take care of my tire in a timely manner. They suggested Ski Country Auto Repair & Towing. Josh said he could get it repaired by 6 pm. Great news, right? We got back to the condo and got another car to continue about our day. At 11:30 am, we ran back by the shop to grab some items from the car. The car was already up on a jack with the tire being repaired. We got what we needed and headed to Breck. An hour later we got a call, the car was done, 5 hours ahead of time! I can't thank Josh and his team enough for the tremendous service we received. They have definitely gained my trust and future service. read more

We had flat traveling west on I-70. About 9AM we tried 2 different tire shops in Frisco. 1st one said a 3 hr wait for a simple flat repair and the 2nd said they may be able to get to it by the end of the day, but they recommended Ski Country Towing and Automotive Repair. They said yep and had us out of there in 45 mins. Great response by some really Great folks! read more

William was awesome in helping us free both our truck and trailer from a tricky parking lot situation. I learned a lot about what sort of winch and pulley tricks are even possible. Best service ever! Highly recommend. Towed my car to Denver today. Kids were pumped to ride in the truck and service was impeccable!

I've been to Ski Country a couple of times now and they've been a delight to work with. I recently purchased a diesel vehicle and took it in to get it inspected when my check engine light came on. They were very straight forward about their procedures with diesel vehicles and made sure I knew what to expect before I even gave them the keys. Scott and the team are very helpful, they don't pressure you into decisions, and they provide a lovely breakdown of part/labor cost for each procedure that is recommended for your vehicle before you commit to it. They made me feel very welcome and provided amazing service. I was also able to book an appointment on the website- which was very convenient. 10/10 would recommend. These guys are great! read more

Ski Contry Shell & Towing has the quickest response time I've ever seen. The tow truck operator made sure the drivers were OK before anything else. I have to be honest - I didn't use their services but am grateful for their services, especially Mike. Our RV struggled to get over the pass through the Eisenhower tunnel and Mike showed up in his truck on the roadside and offered free advice and different level of services. He waited 20 minutes as we contemplated our decision and he also recommended a good mechanic in Dillon. We didn't pay him a dime but probably should have. His advice and demeanor are appreciated. We're hanging onto his card for the future! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would, this was probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a mechanic. I was overcharged by 500$ and they didn't even actually fix everything. If I would have known how much I was going to be overcharged to not get my car fixed I would have gone to a different mechanic or done the work myself. When I was paying for my vehicle I asked to see the itemized receipt before I paid and the guy refused to print it for me till after I paid him. They did work I specifically asked not to do and then charged me for it, and then wouldn't even give me a full refund for them doing this. They used over half a tank of gas when they were inspecting my car witch seems a bit excessive because I have never had a mechanic use more than a quarter tank of gas and my car gets really good mileage, when I dropped my car off to actually get fixed I only left it with half a tank because I'm broke and I don't have money to refill my tank till my next payday, mechanic chose to not bother even looking at part that needs fixed because "I didn't have a full tank of gas". I have seatbelt extensions in my car, I have since I bought the vehicle, they worked great, never had issues with them. When I picked up my car from inspection I wasn't even able to drive way because they broke my driver side seatbelt buckle extension and didn't say anything to me. It's very obvious that the extension was aggressively jammed and they bent the metal so I am unable to unjam it and I'm going to have to buy a whole new seatbelt to replace what they did. I told the mechanic about the situation and they ignored me. When I had to drop my car back off again I left a note tapped to my seatbelt telling them I needed it Unjammed since they wouldn't return my calls about it, they never unjammed it and refuse to take responsibility. "It was jammed when they got in the car" they said but that's definitely not true because it was working when I dropped my car off. I asked if someone could come out to my car and try to help me so I could leave and they refused to have someone help me even though there was 4 other staff members in the room not doing anything. I had to sit in their parking lot for about 45 minutes trying to unjam my seatbelt so I could drive home and they all sat in the window and watched me struggle. Everything was over charged on my bill, nothing was even close to the estimate they gave me. Staff was extremely rude throughout the entire experience- if you don't want to help someone, you should tell them that instead of waisting everyone's time!!!! NO STAFF HAD MASKS!!!! NO SOCIAL DISTANCING!!!! NO HAND SANITIZER !!! Had absolutely no safety protocol in place. Very small office without windows or a fan or any ventilation, no marks to stand 6 feet apart. Every single time I had to go into the office it was extremely uncomfortable as the staff wouldn't put a mask on and they would proceed to share their political believes with me about the mask. I DONT WANT TO WEAR MY MASK EITHER!!!! But it's the law and it's extremely disrespectful to costumers. I have to keep my mask on at work for 8 hours a day if not longer and I don't get to take it off once, put on a damn mask when someone walks into your establishment! I will never be coming here again! If you want to have some sexist hicks rip you off and take all your money for doing absolutely nothing THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! read more

I don't know where to begin. I know nothing about cars and my daughter's car had some serious issues which were believed to be under warranty with another auto shop in town. This place ran a diagnostic which was helpful. I went to get the car to take it to the other shop to have the warranteed work looked at--the guy at Sky Country was not nice about me taking the car. Even though I was having all additional work done with them. I have become so frustrated because it's hard to understand a big fat estimate from Ski Country and not understand what is even going on? He told me they "weren't going to work on her car because they didn't like MY attitude?" I am a woman, she is a kid. This is not my area of expertise. And instead of being kind and compassionate--he was an unbelievable JERK!! I guess business is so busy they don't have to work with women who need a little understanding. My attitude was stress & frustration--I never raised my voice. This is 100% unacceptable in the service business. NON-WOMAN FREINDLY. I am certain they would not speak to a man like they did to me... read more

Our truck stranded us a mile and a half from the top of Loveland Pass on a freezing cold evening. Called a few companies until I found one that that was big enough to move our truck and trailer. William let us know that he'd get a truck to us as soon as possible. (One company told me it would be at least $200 to hook us up, $200 an hour to tow us, and a few hours before anyone could get to us and that there were no repair shops near that would look at my truck within 2 weeks.) Ski Country charged by the mile and not by the hour and their hook up fee was reasonable. Lloyd was able to get us to a safe place and drop the truck off at the repair shop. William even offered to take us to a hotel! Lloyd did a great job working in the freezing cold to take care of us and we can't be more impressed by how efficient he was. Thank you for making a stressful situation easier! read more

This review is long over due. I recently had to move my family and home across the country for work. While trucking through the mountains in Colorado just past Glenwood springs the diesel engine in my truck air locked due to a faulty pick up in the fuel tank. After an ordeal that would consume several pages of ranting and three days later Budget agrees to call in a guy from Frisco named Larry. Larry arrived earlier than his estimate and went right to work on the truck. Now in the mean time three other technicians had attempted to start the old dinosaur with no luck. Larry was soon in the same spot as the others but rather than give up he kept plugging away until finally it came back to life. Larry then called his connection with budget and explained that they would need to pay the bill because it was their faulty equipment and not my fault. Finally I was back on the road again. Everything was going great until forty miles down the road my car trailer caught fire. Damn. Except this time Larry was there he had me, my jeep, the truck, and the burnt trailer at his garage in about an hour. He even arranged for me to stay in the newly remodeled holiday inn for the night as the trailer was toast. The next day he towed my jeep all the way to Golden to pick up a new trailer. He even stayed to make sure I got back on the road again. I dare you to find better service than that. He went so far out of his way for me so that I could get home to my wife and kids. This review is the least that I could do. Thank you Larry. read more

Do not trust these guys to help you out. I was involved in a multi car crash on Hwy 91 and the troopers and myself informed them that I would need a tow, the driver said he take the car before me since they were going to silverthorne. He insisted he would come back for me. So all the troopers and tow trucks left and I was abandoned there to wait for a tow that never showed. Waited 3 hours in my wrecked car for them to come back. They never did, I was left with no cell service, in the middle of no where to wander if I was going to go hypothermic. It was about as unprofessional and scary as it gets with these guys abandoning me like that. I ended up having to hitchhike and leave my car off the side of the highway. If these guys are willing to disregard the state patrols orders, then they will definitely ignore you. read more
