My wife and I just purchased a new VW Touareg two weeks ago and on Monday morning we discovered that there were some scratches on the passenger driver side. we were both sick to our stomachs and were having a bit of buyers remorse. We assumed that it was done accidentally at a parking lot somewhere. My wife went over to Collision Barn which was referred by our dealership and spoke with Denny. According to my wife, Denny was very understanding to her emotional distress and very attentive. After reviewing the damage, he concluded that this was no accident but scratched intentionally with either a key or some sharp object. This made my wife even more emotionally upset. Denny suggested that they might be able to buff it out but could not guarantee complete removal. To my wife's surprise, they were able to remove majority of the scratches without having to repaint. The body technician did an amazing job!! Denny could have easily taken advantage of my wife's vulnerability and said that a complete new paint job was our only option. I've always known about this place and went there first for an estimate with a pending claim against the driver who hit me. I went in and they took care of me right away, asked me if I had claim #, which I did. They called the rental for me and that was pretty much it. They helped me take my daughter's car seat out and asked me if I needed any help with anything. I went back after getting the rental to get a couple of additional things out of my car and they were already taking my car apart. They had already contacted the insurance company for some errors they(the insurance company) had made. The Collison Barn was extremely thorough and made sure every and any possible damage was taken care of. These guys DO NOT PLAY! They handle business with exponential efficiency. They know EVERY insurance company and how they work. Their shop is clean, their staff extremely courteous. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The Collison Barn does not do shoddy work, that's just not who they are. It's complete expertise from start to finish. I highly recommend them to anyone in the area and beyond. We went to this shop for a small repair and it turns out that we ended up paying over 10,000 as compared to other body shops. Two other body shops gave quotations and so we went with them because they had a five star rating. They said they had to replace items , when I ask what items the reply were items that you can't easily see unless you dismantle the front of the car. We went in with a few dents and scratches on a brand new 2024 car and now my insurance rate has significantly gone up. We were told one thing and I took a long time a write this review as it's hard to give a company a 1 star that has a 5 star ratong . I was so angry that I contacted Allstate as I don't understand how can Allstate approve all the extra stuff unless this company has an inside friend at all state and this is a Ponzi scheme. You were warned . Now I have to deal with 7 years of high insurance rate and they get to go on with this Ponzi scheme. Look at the picture attached . How did this cost over 10K to repair . I had a really frustrating experience at this shop. Thomas came across as arrogant and full of empty promises from the start. He talked a big game about timelines and quality, but none of it actually happened. Instead of taking responsibility, he constantly blamed his crew for mistakes and delays, which felt unprofessional and unfair. At the end of the day, he's the one running the business, and it clearly shows in how things are handled. Communication was poor, expectations weren't met, and the whole experience felt disorganized. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for reliable or honest service. On a positive note, his brother Kevin Sullivan was awesome to deal with--professional, helpful, and actually seemed to care about doing things right. After reading Donna H's review I felt we had karma between us. I was visiting Chicago for 3 weeks to be the "manny" for my 2 grandchildren. On Feb. 8th I had an accident on 90/94 (my fault) and rear ended a Jeep. Did around $6000 to my 2016 Mazda CX5. Not only did Denny get the car repaired within a weeks time so I could return to Ohio without having to get a rental; he touched up another ding not related to the accident. Best body shop experience! So easy. Sent them a photo of the damaged bumper and taillight plus VIN. They sent me an estimate. Did the painting before I got there.
