Thursday at 3 pm. Tried the door and all doors were locked but employees inside. I verified the schedule posted on door showed they should be open. Knocked at the glass door for employees to find out if they're open. Employees (gangster girl Julia and flaming red haired Mexican guy) ignored my knocking. Continued to knock harder...still ignored. Knocked more with phone now and finally I get a look from Mexican guy when I finally got to gesture they were closed. Not so much the coffee, but these two employees who ignore customers. Very rude. Today's visit was just to pick up some whole beans. I saw on the website they have a new medium roast blend called L.A. Brew. It's my first whole bean bag purchase so I hope it's good! Not bad for $14.95 for a 10oz bag. I like that the bags have the manufactured date on the bottom. I am not sure if that is also the same day they were roasted or just the day they packaged them. I honestly didn't feel comfortable walking in as there were 2 transients digging through the trash right outside the entrance. Go to Starbucks across the street. Drinks were eh not as good as they use to. I don't understand how they have two bathrooms. But only use one because the other is for employees only, then why not have it in the back where it's only theirs and not where the customers can see it. Another thing. My daughter was going to ask for a napkin. Everyone was busy I get it. She walked in to the area because the gate was open and was about to ask. But this heavier set Anglo teenager with glasses was shooing my daughter with an attitude away while her my wife was explaining what is happening. She didn't care she said uh huh. Just get her out of here. That was l rude. And the best part they didn't offer her one. I wanted to go off on her really bad. So I walked out so I don't make a scene. I work in customer service customers are a pain at times but treating kid and a mom like that. From the jist of it customer service lacks here. The management needs to do customer service training. There nothing you can do with the drinks lacking flavor it could be corp. since you can tell they are not as busy as other locations. Solid experience every time. The employees can be a little hit and miss, but there are some really truly genuine people that work here that make for a solid environment. This location keeps pretty busy. I think what's super nice about this location is the consistency in the drinks. There's nothing incredibly special about them, except for the fact that they are made to order the exact same way every time. And I've really grown to appreciate the consistency. I've had a few issues with this location. Every time I order through the app I ask for straws and never get one? And I don't get ice coffees I get blended drinks that need straws. One time I went through the app to try to explain I was missing a drink with photos and wasn't refunded or emailed back. When we called they said to come in and get it again even though we went through a delivery service. I also had an incident after ordering decaf coffee (double checked it was decaf) and had to go to the ER for anxiety issues related to caffeine. The drinks are goods still, I just wished the little things got more attention. read more

It's also nice location-wise and in a safer part of town. Minus 1 star because the internet isn't the strongest. I have been a long time customer at this Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf location. They have always been kind and accommodating. In the last several days I have been to the same location; on Main St. in Ventura, at the cross section right before you can get on the freeway going North. There were ants all over the window sills, coming in from the outside. I sat there trying to get rid of a bunch of them, but then I was over it pretty fast. I got up and I told the guy at the front and he said ok and he told the other guy working at the front. I thought that someone was actually taking care of it, or if they did not have a way to correct the problem that they would at least let me know. They did not. The ants stayed. The internet also did NOT work at all. I even heard many other customers talking about the fact that they could not get any internet as well. I sent feedback on the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf website, since they have no customer service phone number and no other way to reach them, days ago and they sent me a generic response simply from the feedback that I submitted. It said that they would get back to me. They never got back to me at all. So, a couple of days later I went back: today. The ants were still all over the window sill and I had to wipe away tons of them from going all over my things and my tea. I saw another guy wiping them away from going into his coffee as well. I went up to the front and I asked the girl if their internet was working. She said that it was definitely working and that it connected to their registers. She said to turn it off and on again. And then she apologized. That was it. The internet used to go on before, albeit you had to sit there for a little bit to get it up and running. Now, it flat out just DOES NOT go on at all, because it does not work anymore. There seems to be no management at this Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf location, on Main St. in Ventura. And obviously corporate, or whichever entity is running the establishment could care less about their customers because no one actually takes care of the issues. As a long time customer and one that hardly ever raises complaints, I do not take kindly to being flat out ignored. I will no longer be a customer at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Rest assured that if you continue to ignore the rest of your customers, they will certainly follow. read more

I always feel bad for this Coffee Bean's weird parking lot situation. It's at an angle, so when you're in the shopping center you can't see this shop. Other than that though, it's great! The biggest and best of the chain, this location has the best seating, consistent wi-fi, and is well known as the best place in town to study, while drinking delicious teas and coffee. I am addicted to their tropical iced tea served with their perfect crunchy ice. Their breakfast sandwiches are tasty, too. There are outdoor tables if you bring your dog along after visiting the nearby Petco. It shares the parking lot with FedEx office center, but I can usually find a parking spot. read more

I love this particular CBTL! Best in Ventura County! Most of the staff members extremely accommodating, & have a great attitude, even during the really busy days. Good vibes here. Lots of families & "regulars" come here to study & get together over a flavorful cup of coffee or one of their epic Iced Blended drinks. They even make their own whipped cream. I enjoy popping in to order in person & pick up my favorite drink. Also LOVE their rewards program & auto ordering through their app. Many special discounts & free drinks. I totally forgot about the new Friend's drink menu and was excited to try it! I love coffee so had to get the Monica (Midnight Mocha Cold Brew) and he got the Joey (Mango Cold Brew Tea). They were highly recommended by the really friendly woman at the counter. So glad we tried them! The Monica was so strong with a slightly sweet chocolatey taste at the end. The Joey was very sweet and refreshing! This location also has a lot of free parking in the plaza. So glad we stopped by!
