We went as a party of four and tried the following: * Sally Sells Seashells - My drink! Basically a piña colada. * Pecan't Even - Like an Old Fashioned, with candied pecans on the side. * Banana Split (don't remember the exact name) - Delicious! It really tasted like a banana split. * Chocolate milkshake mocktail (with alcohol added) - Also really good; it tasted just like chocolate. Personally, my favorites were the dessert-inspired drinks because they're not something you can find just anywhere. Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. We came in at 9:20 p.m. on a Sunday as a party of four adults in our 30s. We walked in completely sober and specifically came just to try the cocktails--I was so excited! When we reached the bar, the bartender warned us that last call was in 20 minutes. I inquired, "Oh, so we should just order the second round now?" He replied, "Oh no, you have to finish your drink first." About 10 minutes later, a server came by to let us know last call was in 10 minutes. Shortly afterward, the bartender brought us our drinks. I playfully said, "So I have to finish this in 10 minutes to order another?" He responded, "No, I'm not making you another one." We left around 9:50 p.m., before closing, and I was honestly astonished. We certainly weren't going to get rowdy after two drinks. If anything, every other bartender I've encountered would have encouraged another round or even offered shots--which honestly would have doubled the tip because we're considerate customers. That interaction really soured what had otherwise been a great experience. Pleasantly surprised by The Coaster. I judged this bar too quickly, assuming the cocktails would be overly sweet and unbalanced given their gimmicky names. I was wrong! I had the Berry the Hatchet and tried my friend's Fig Is Up, both delicious. Their outdoor patio is a great spot to catch up with friends in warmer weather. The servers were attentive and checked on us often. The inside was less appealing to me, and the singer that night wasn't quite my taste (sorry!). Ohh mama... the Noggy and Nice drink is a fluffy creamy piece of heaven. It has vanilla vodka, amaretto, eggnog, cinnamon and sugar. The minute I tasted this drink, my eyes rolled back into my head - it's that good! OK, so a friend of mine heard about this place it has straight parking. It's called the coaster and I guess they go above and beyond around the holidays with decor, including specialty drinks for the season we thought there was karaoke so we came for the karaoke but sadly there was no karaoke that night. I was unable to see the food coming out, but I will tell you that the drinks were phenomenal. They had great names. They had great presence. They tasted good and the ambience was great. I really can't wait to go back there again around Christmas time and see how they decorate there as well. Not to mention it was very friendly crowd. When I moved to Puyallup two years ago, I had this place bookmarked cause I loved the fair themed drinks and interior. We never got the chance to go but then I saw that they won Best Cocktails in South Sound Magazine. We got to stop by during the weekend of Washington State Summer Con and they had a flight themed after the convention so I asked my boyfriend if we could go and he was down! As we entered, we loved the decor of place as well as the overall vibes. It felt like going into your own private spot of the fair. The bathroom was also cute with ticket themed outlines, a funny mirror, and being very clean. We seated ourselves and not too long after, a kind waitress came by with a drink menu so I had to ask about the food menu. She let us know that she is revamping their happy hour as we came in on a Sunday which is an all day happy hour. I believe she said it was $5 on cocktails. We decided to stick with the flight as we just ate and my boyfriend had to drive home. My boyfriend really enjoyed the Daryl and Carol the most while I really enjoyed the Cobra Kaitini. I'm sad that the Smashed Brothers was the most meh of the four as that was the one I was looking forward to the most. However, the rest of the flights were lovely and the little stickers we got with our flight was such a nice touch. We even got a whole Bowser sticker sheet! I got the basic grilled cheese combo as I was still feeling peck-ish but was surprised by how much food it was. The tomato soup dip was so good. It reminded me of the tomato soup that came with the ham and cheese sandwich at my elementary school which was what I have been craving. I asked for the dip to go but the waitress just gave me a small to go container for instead so not sure if they charge for that. She also never did come back to check on us so we had to go up to ask for a take out box too. The festive holiday pop-up theme is so fun! In December, they have it decked out with decorations and playful photo op areas to take pictures with your friends or family. It's a great spot to meet up for drinks in the downtown Puyallup area, and parking is pretty easy to find. It's a walk in and up to the counter kind of bar, so find a barrel and stool to stand by or the counter. There isn't too much seating unfortunately, I thought some of the decoration area were taking up seat areas if it were busy, but nonetheless it's a cute aesthetic. They have a regular year round menu and a specialty drinks holiday menu. I ordered the Noggy and Nice which is an adult eggnog basically. It was sweet and festive, but not very strong on the liquor. My husband ordered a Bah Rum Bug and it has a creamy coconut flavor and isn't too sweet. It's over shaved ice and has coconut flakes on top, yum! So I ordered one of those as my second drink. The drinks are definitely fun, festive, and photo op worthy, it makes for a unique experience out with friends or family. They are constantly updating the creative cocktail menu (and mocktail menu) which is my favorite part, but the food and friendly service remain exceptional! From the store front to the minute you walk in it was Christmas everywhere. Attention to detail is clear in this bar. Many custom Christmas drinks to choose from and we tried several. Each one was adorned beautifully in Christmas attire and taste as delicious as they where fun to look at. The food was equally as wonderful! This is downtown Puyallup. I didn't think there was much more than the fair out this way, until I found this spot. I was invited by a friend for karaoke on a Thursday. Try the potatoes!! The buffalo flavored jojos are so freaking delicious! Bar is super clean and tidy. Gender neutral restrooms and I want to say it's completely women owned and operated. If you haven't come by here on a Thursday for a drink and a song! It sits between two different establishments on the corner off Meridian. Parking is not nearly as bad as it looks and after 6 most of it is free. I walked a short distance to and from my car, but I didn't feel super unsafe in that area. For the place not having very many customers there the service was a little slow when we got there and had to go up to the bar to get a food menu after the server offering one but never bringing one to the table. The drinks though... they were pretty tasty. Especially the gingerbread one, tasted just like a milkshake. The pretzel was huge and not overly salted. The Turkey Reuben was pretty soggy on the bottom and could mainly just taste the thousand island dressing. My dad did like him clubhouse though. I was waited on by a middle-aged man who genuinely doesn't care. The food wasn't great either....... I popped in on a Friday afternoon before an appointment up the street. There were two other people in the place - together at a table. The only employee I saw was at the two top when I entered and I passed him to sit at the bar. He finished with the couple and went to the end of the bar where (I presumed) he rang in their order. However, he stayed at the end of the bar for 7, or so, minutes. Then he left the bar and moved to an abandoned table where he appeared to be in the middle of a project. My presence was never acknowledged. I was not smiled at or offered a menu. After about ten minutes of this I loudly said, "Excuse me!" And was finally acknowledged. I asked one question while giving my order, "What time do you all open?" He didn't know. He only knew what time his shift started. I ordered pulled pork tatchos. They were ok. Tasted like pre purchased pork and ore-Ida tots. The cocktails are ok, but weak and sticky. Not what you'd call a 'craft cocktail'. Don't waste your time or your money on this sad attempt at a gimmick bar. read more
