I had a lemon drop, which was absolutely perfect. My only complaint came by the request of my two friends who are steadfast, "old-fashioned" drinkers. Their old fashions had some type of red flowers sprinkled in the drink. Every time they took a sip, they complained! I eventually went up to the bar at the end and they told us it was Bergamont! So perhaps if you'd like to stick to the classic, ask to skip the Bergamont- as it has a very strange texture when you're drinking the drink. Overall, really, really cool place!

The mood is moody and cozy, the perfect spot for making this apart of date night. I can't speak much to the food as we did not order any, but the menu is pretty elevated for a bar. I wouldn't say this place is divey at all, but the menu was still surprising. Service was good and they had a great selection of drinks. I got a hazy IPA (as per usual) and it was delicious! My friend had the Tacoma's Best Grilled Cheese, which was made with mozzarella and provolone -- two of the least flavorful cheeses you could pick for a grilled cheese. It did not live up to its name. We got our bartender's recommendation on drinks: the El Diablo mule & Paper Dragon. They were light and tasty, and not terribly dissimilar. I was disappointed my mule wasn't served in a mule mug. There's a pond, a fire pit, cozy box seats, even a drum at the counter. My friend and I literally spent 5-10 minutes just walking around trying to decide where to sit because every spot looked so fun. The drinks are just as impressive. Super exotic, beautifully presented, and all served in unique tiki mugs. Mine came in a monkey mug, which made it even better. At one point, the bartender even lit my cocktail on fire -- such a fun touch. Speaking of the bartenders, they were fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. One low point was the bacon--it simply wasn't great. Watching the sausage make its way around the other end of the table, I knew I'd made the wrong call. A special mention goes to Becca, who put in real work coordinating this event on the front end and running the show when we arrived. Her diligence made it all work and sets the tone for everything that follows...and it showed. Service throughout was attentive and the feedback from the group was genuinely positive, and if you know Porsche Club people, is a meaningful endorsement. There's also a large patio we'll try and experience the next time when it's warmer. It looked like a fantastic space for the right weather. We're already planning a return visit, and I'd absolutely recommend Urban Elk if you're looking for a venue that can handle a larger group with care and without the usual friction.
