He is a very personable individual, prompt, courteous, helpful, and very competent... all you could ask from a clock repair person. He does not accept credit cards. I paid a considerable amount to have Tim repair my antique clock and the warranty period on the work is still valid. I wanted to bring it in since it no longer runs but the phone is disconnected with no forwarding number. I then visited the shop with the clock and the business is no longer there with no info as to how I can make good on the warranty. Very frustrating. I have dealt with this company for a while and always got good service (except for the telephone which was usually unanswered forcing me to drive to the shop and hope that Tim might be in...often he was not). I hate to give Tim one star considering our past relationship but if he was retiring he should have notified his last customers of the fact and promised to honor the six month warranty on his work. read more

Tim has an impressive knowledge of old clocks and did a great job repairing my clock. It was a very old French clock that had a lot of meaning in my family. He is very easy to talk to and shared his knowledge freely. The only reason for a 4 star rating is that he never returns phone calls so you have to go to his shop to talk to him and he does not wear a mask when people are in his shop unless he is going to stand near them. What an amazing, unforgettable experience I had today when I decided to bring a clock in to the Clockmaker. My stepdad had a (semi-knock off, plastic yet still German-made) anniversary clock, the type with the pendulum that rotates one direction about a full turn, then rotates the other. The pendulum didn't rotate. So after tinkering with it a bit and taking it apart, I decided it was best to take it to a professional. When I came in, five minutes to closing, with my already disassembled plastic (yet fancy looking) clock, the owner Tim seemed impressed, or at least genuinely entertained that I had tried my hand at diagnosing the problem. He answered my uncountable amount of questions, drew me a diagram, gave me a short hands on course on how to care for an anniversary clock, and stayed almost an hour after he should've closed, without ever seeming rushed or eager to get me out. He is so kind and welcoming, and had such a warm demeanor. I never felt that he was anything but open to answering my questions and helping me. Interestingly enough, earlier this week, someone dropped off an anniversary clock. Tim had told them he might gift it to someone who showed real interest in it, and then I happened to show up with a thousand questions, inquisitive mind, and genuine interest. Tim gave me the clock he had acquired, a key to wind it when needed (about one every year to 400 days), and wouldn't take any money from me even when I offered a couple times. I walked in with a junky, not worth fixing plastic clock, and an hour later walked out with a fantastic clock in my arms and key in my pocket, a wealth of information, a huge smile on my face, a meeting I think I'll never forgot, and the knowledge of an amazing person who really enjoys his craft, enjoys sharing the information, resources, and even pieces themselves with anyone interested, and whom I would be thrilled to tell anyone (who has any clock questions or concerns) about. Tim spent a very long time with me discussing both my grandfather clock broken part as well as the 400 day anniversary clock that I brought in. The person I used to repair my clocks had taken parts off of the anniversary clock to repair, but then passed away so I didn't have samples of the right pieces to replace. Tim looked up the part and gave me the number of the distributor to order. He had spent 90 minutes with me and sold me a $7 part he had for the grandfather clock. What a nice person. Great guy, showed up at my house as scheduled. He then proceeded to take my clock apart very carefully. After disassemble he carefully checked the mechanism found one issue and was able to repair it. He then oiled the clock mechanism appropriately and reassemble my clock. Without a doubt I would use his service again. read more

This is a real Mom & Pops place without even a website. I found it by googling "clock repair". Their hours are Mon-Thus 12-5, which I could only find by calling them. I had to get a clock fixed, so I rushed over on my lunch break to drop it off. Tim was very friendly, and he told me he could fix the clock in 10 minutes, so I wouldn't have to come back to pick it up. It took him 7 minutes! The $25 charge was very reasonble--no tacking on extra fees for services, parts, etc. Tim was very knowledgeable and obviously loves clocks a lot :) I would highly reccomend this place to anyone that needs a clock fixed. read more

Tim is indeed very friendly and knowledgeable. There's no question that he knows his stuff. He started to repair my clock on the spot but took the time to explain that it wouldn't be able to chime again since the original chimer was gone. Wow, I never knew that and that was my main reason for having the clock fixed. He saved me not only time but the disappointment of getting home and learning that the chimer wasn't working. Much, much better than 5-stars! Tim, the owner, carefully and lovingly COMPLETELY overhauled the mechanism to my wife's Seth Thomas clock, an old family heirloom (c. 1885). This clock hadn't worked in approximately 30-years, but it works again, perfectly and like-new. What's even more unique and interesting about Tim, is how he absolutely loves his profession. He treats each clock as though it was one of his own family treasures. Clockmaker, however, is our local community treasure. He's worth the drive from the farthest reaches. Yep, bring your family treasure here, have it restored to its original glory. I can't recommend Clockmaker enough. read more

Just left The Clockmaker shop, after visit with most personable proprietor Tim Eriksen. My 90 year old dad's clock was having problems, so I brought it into this shop. Tim stopped what he was doing, diagnosed the hopefully sole problem, replaced a battery, and would not let me pay for it, since the battery he had was already opened. He also quoted me what it would cost if indeed there is a bigger problem, and I left thoroughly pleased to have found someone I trust when I know my dad's other, bigger clocks will need attention. He even does housecalls to work on the grandfather clocks! This is what I love Yelp for the most, since I doubt I ever would have found this tiny shop. Thanks Tim! read more

I can't say enough about Tim and his clock repair business. I had inherited an antique wall clock, and couldn't get it to run more than a few minutes. When I brought it in on Wednesday April 24, Tim talked with me a bit about the symptoms, fiddled with the inside a bit, then after his good advice on how to hang the clock (NOT level but so it goes tick-tock evenly) I brought it home and hung it back up. It has been working steadily for two days now, and he didn't charge me a dime! And he's a really nice guy as well. Inconsiderate and a liar. I phoned and the answering machine said he was at the shop. So I packaged my clock for transit. Passing in front of the shop the sign said open. I parked, unpacked the clock and knocked on the door only to see a smaller sign saying back in 10 or so. After 15 minutes I had to leave for an appointment. He waisted my time lied about being at the shop and not back according to his sign. read more
