I dropped off my cuckoo clock for repairs on 6.13.26, I was told about 2 weeks for the repairs. Its now 7.12.26 and no word from Dale, I called yesterday and left a message, no return call as of today. So far I'm not impressed at all. Very poor communications. I may update review when I hear back from Dale. Picked up the clock from Dale this morning 7.18.26, he did not want to charge me for the repairs because the return time was so late, I still paid him about 90% of the estimate. All is good, I understand sometimes things come up. The cuckoo clock seems to be working like new (the clock was purchased from Oberammergau Germany back in 2001 while I was there. Thanks Dale read more

Highly recommended. High quality work. Knowledgeable. Great value. Took care of everything quickly, and was a pleasure to deal with.

Incredible customer service!!! I asked the gentleman I spoke with if he could fix my wall clock. The hour hand became loose and stayed at the bottom of the clock (6). He spent several minutes telling me how I could fix it myself. If I couldn't, he gave me the name of another business that could fix it. He then further said if I watched You-Tube, I could see how easy it was to fix the loose hand. I watched You-Tube, followed the video, and the hour hand NOW WORKS! Now that's what I call a wonderful business person and human being! Thank you so much for your advice!! read more

Dale was so great! Turns out the problem with my clock was "user-error" He said he didn't have to repair anything, so he didn't charge me for driving out. Then I picked his brain about how to move the clock cross-country and he had great advice and even a couple of stories to share. There's no doubt of his expertise with grandfather clocks. If it was feasible, I'd have him come out to Nashville to put my clock back together after we move I highly recommend Father Time Clockworks and Dale! read more

I called Dale to get a servicing for a grandfather clock we just moved from Arizona. When the clock was chiming, it sounded tinny and out of tune. Dale called back right away and even came out on the Sunday before Labor Day. He said he'd be here at 4PM and he was! Dale was friendly, explained what he was doing and why the clock needed work. The result - The clock sounds great now when it chimes. I highly recommend Dale. He is one of very few folks who do this type of work and his rates are very reasonable. read more

Dale at Father Time Clockworks is just fantastic. I inherited an antique wall clock recently and worried I'd never get it running. Called Father Time and Dale was in the area so came over to my house later that same day! He immediately started taking the clock apart and it was clear he knew what he was doing. Within maybe 20 minutes he had it running. He then offered to hang it on my wall for me to ensure he left it in good working condition. In another half hour this beautiful clock that I never thought would run again was humming along beautifully on my wall! I just never imagined I would get this thing solved so quickly. I highly recommend Dale and his services at Father Time. You won't be disappointed! read more

We recently moved and had our movers pack and unpack our 31 year old grandfather clock. Unfortuntely, they repacked the weights into a plastic bin and we had thought the weights were lost. That's when I found Dale online. I was afraid to unpack the clock cables and thinking the weights were lost, I contacted Dale, who had me send pictures of the clock, so he could try to find some replacements. He was able to find weights to match the originals, which was impressive. Fortunately, the weights were found and the movers unpacked and put the clock together. I was grateful it worked and kept time with, except for chiming two minutes late. I let Dale know I no longer needed the weights. However, our clock had never been cleaned or serviced. So, I asked Dale to come out to our home. He was prompt and very communicative once I reached out to him. He said clocks should be serviced every five to ten years, otherwise once they stop, an overhaul could be possible. Dale shared a story where he serviced a clock built in 1760, so I knew he was an expert. He'd also restored a clock for someone, whose movers had not dismantled the clock at all! So, you can tell Dale is a true professional and his services seemed reasonable. Don't hesitate to call him. He does travel throughout the greater Bay Area. read more

A true work of art was returned to me! Dale took my pocket watch to repair and within ONE DAY, had it diagnosed and repaired. He proactively let me know that same day that he would need to hang onto it for an extra day or two to ensure it worked correctly. WOW...what attention to detail THAT is! Upon returning my pocket watch, Dale had wrapped it nicely in a brand new orange bamboo shop towel. NICE TOUCH, Dale! (Small details=BIG impression) QUALITY service, QUICK turnaround, and SUPERIOR presentation. For a one man repair show, this one EXCEEDS all expectations. read more

I contacted Father Time to have my 100 year old ship's clock cleaned as the business got good reviews (only 5 star reviews) and was closest. Dale told me $125 for the cleaning and he'd have it done in a week. After a few days, Dale said that there were some worn pins that needed replacing and it would cost an additional $125 and to give him a couple of weeks. After two and a half weeks, I called and was told it would be another week or so. After another two weeks, he told me two more weeks. He finally told me the clock was ready but when I got it home, I noticed the chime/bells were not in sync. Dale told me that it was a minor adjustment and to bring it back. It would take about a week. After 3 weeks, he said it was finished and he'd deliver it to me. He showed me that the bell chime was now working however, when I put it back on the wall, the chimes were much slower than normal and occasionally skip so I manually catch them up. Also, the clock loses about 5 minutes in a 12 hour period, which it did not do before and I need to wind it each day instead of every other day. Dale seems to be careful about his repairs although I do not think I will return. The good things are that Dale seems to care and did not charge me for the return visit. He also delivered the clock after the second visit. The things I didn't like was the time it took to clean/repair and that it does not seem to be the same (chimes slower; losing time). I wish I could offer a better review. read more

Dale from Father Time Clockworks did an outstanding job on my Seth Thomas Mantel clock! He cleaned, adjusted and oiled the mechanism and even tuned up the Westminster chime for perfect sound. I made an appointment with Dale for 7:30 on Thursday night. He was Right on time. He took the time to explain what he was doing and what my 1890 Grandmother Clock needed. This clock has been "Fixed" before and has had problems during the 35 plus year's we've owned it and had quit running a couple years ago. By 8:30 it was keeping perfect time and never sounded better, he even fixed the twang in the chimes. A genuinely nice guy with Very Reasonable pricing. Highly recommended read more
