Vince at Watchworks did an amazing job repairing our vintage Hermle wall clock. The clock has been in our family for over 50 years and had not worked (chimed) for many years. Vince was able to clean and repair the gears as well as locate a replacement gong for our clock so that it sounds like new! In the process Vince found a bad hairspring and worked tirelessly to repair it which is a big deal because replacement hairsprings don't really exist. I had three watches that I wanted to get the batteries replaced for since during the pandemic I didn't service them at all. All three watches had dead batteries in them. Because they are Gucci watches, I was told by Macy's who I purchased them from that I had to ship them back to New York which they would help me do however it would be very expensive and it would take about 5 to 6 months. Hearing that I thought it was ridiculous. Luckily the associate at Macy's provided me a recommendation of Watchworks. I was immediately greeted by the friendly husband and wife couple that run the shop. They quote me a fair price and had me out in 10 minutes with battery replacements. Wow. ~Review written in honor of Daylight Savings. Came just for a simple battery replacement for my old Polar heart rate monitor watch. I simply wanted to get in, have them swap the battery, and get out. No one greeted me at the door, but no biggie. Service was fine, as it didn't take long. The lady there even reprogrammed my watch. $10 for a new battery and a reset, sweet! Now as for the place itself, its very small with just a few labeled parking spaces. So you may have to park on busy Main St if needed. Being located in an outdated shopping strip, the store itself was just old, but expected. They offer a wide variety of clocks, watches, and alarms on display. Definitely had a lot of classic grandfather clocks. Some for sale, some sitting there ready for repair. Keep in mind, this place isn't a specialty clock store, as it is more of a repair shop. This place does accept credit cards, not sure about Apple Pay. Walked out with a battery change punch card, buy five and get the sixth one free! I contacted Robert Methany owner of Watchworks through a friend's referral. I sent my Dad's 1946 Gold Bubble Back Rolex he bought in Paris at the end of WWII before he returned back to the States for discharge. When I got the Rolex back I was amazed how beautiful it was!!!! I then sent my Dad's Hamilton 'Scott' from 1938 my grandparents gave him on his 21st Birthday. It was in bad shape, and Robert did an amazing job restoring it also.
