I cannot say enough about my experience with Mike. From my initial contact (he replied within minutes) to the speed and quality of the repair. I bought my husband a Tiffany carriage clock ~20 years ago and it stopped working in 2024. We thought perhaps it had seized up due to lack of regular maintenance and had been looking for a reputable clock repairer. I came across Mike on Yelp and we arranged to bring the clock to him last Sunday. We met Mike (and his sweet rescue dog) in his 'workshop' at the back of his property. It was so interesting to see the wide array of clocks Mike was servicing and repairing and to hear his stories. While there, Mike took a look at the clock and immediately noticed that a screw was loose. However, since the key was turning without engaging the mechanism, Mike suspected the mainspring might be broken. We left the clock and braced ourselves for a long wait and a large bill... but were surprised and delighted when Mike called on Wednesday to say the clock was fixed! Having disassembled the clock, Mike found that the mainspring had become detached from the winding mechanism (due to the loose screw). He made some adjustments, reattached the mainspring, cleaned and oiled, then wound the clock. We picked the clock up yesterday and it looks and sounds beautiful. Mike is a true craftsman and knows his way around clocks. He's also a really lovely man. He did not try to overcharge for our repair - only asking his standard fee - and we could not be happier. read more

MIKE is the MAN... I called Mike told him the problem with my wall clock, he asked a couple of questions ... I then put my phone up to the clock ,he listened for a couple of seconds diagnosed it was out of phase, told me to adjust the body of the clock either left or right until the ticking was a steady even beat ... GUESS WHAT ? BINGO... now this is a clock that was bought used and had never run more than 3 minutes without stopping.....It hung on the wall for years idle & in the matter of seconds MIKE had it ticking & tocking like a champ... I knew nothing about an old clock I inherited when I took it to Mike for information on what kind of clock it is, and the cost to repair it. Mike is friendly, and cares about old clocks. His skills are a vanishing art. He used his references to look up company, model name, and year it was made. Estimated the clock's monetary value, and explained how it would be refurbished and made functioning again. Well-worth the reasonable quote he gave.
