Owners Lloyd & Rose came to our home and fully restored both our Howard Miller Grandfather Clock as well as our Black Forrest Cuckoo Clock, repairing and returning both to their original working order glory! They arrived early and went right to work, both entirely skilled and professional, very pleasant people with great senses of humor as well. Labor and repair fees were up front, fair, and reasonable. Highest customer satisfaction and recommendation for "Time Standing Still", A+++. Thank you Rose & Lloyd! Dan Falzon read more

In my case, this turned out to be not Time Standing Still , but a Waste of Time. These two people came out. She sat on the sofa and complained, as I recall, about her or their inability to get Social Security or Social Security disability. I don't remember which. He stood at the clock. They quarreled. Sometime later, after this bizarre visit, the chiming on my grandfather clock stopped. I called and talked with him. He said they would come and gave me to her to make an appointment. She made an appointment. I waited, hoping to hear my chimes again. On the appointed day they did not come. I repeat, they did not come. They also did not call. When I called them, she said that it wasn't on their books. He said they had decided not to come to San Francisco . But they didn't tell me that. So I still have no chimes and I have what, in my opinion, was a bizarre and completely uncaring and unprofessional experience. Beware. read more

Received a family grandfather clock in none working condition. I called Time Standing Still. They are wonderful. They replied quickly and set up appointment to come all the way to Lower Lake. The clock needed a lot of work, they took parts with them. They ordered the new parts I needed and got it all together, then came back for installation. They did a very professional thorough job and my Grandmother's clock is like new. They also left a very informative manual about these old clocks. I can't thank them enough for the fantastic job. read more

I have had an occasion to have Mr. Watson diagnose and repair my centuries ol Vienna Wall Clock. Needed adjustment of the hands. I called and spoke with Mr. Watson and on the phone he offered to help me fix the problem I described to him. I told him that I would feel more comfortable if he would do the repair as I wanted to be sure it would be done correctly. We made an appointment. Went to his shop. He was on time, courteous, professional. He has parts for every imaginable clock, twenty eight years of experience, and a friendly personality. He repaired my clock in a matter of 20 minutes and I would highly recommend anyone with a need for a professional clock repair service to call Mr. Watson. John Roberts read more

Stellar experience- Lloyd confirmed his availability and I brought over a sweet little cuckoo clock with broken hands. I supplied the hands and he set to work on the repair immediately. Lloyd Watson and his wife Rose work as amazing technicians for treasured clocks. We were so pleased at how much they appreciated our 1906 tall case clock. We had it serviced 3 years ago by a capable but serious person. Lloyd and his wife are a dream to work with. Lloyd is very capable with many years' experience under his belt. He attended to details, made sure all parts were straight and functional, and made sure the clock was again a treasure. It has kept perfect time and rang the hour and half hour once again. Even more importantly, he made sure we could call him if there were any problems. The cost is higher than we paid previously, but we know we were paying for a quality repair person who appreciates the gems he repairs. I highly recommend him. read more

After Lloyd directed me to a replacement for my lost pendulum I called him to help me get my 50 year old grandfather clock running again. He and Rose worked on the clock for hours and discovered that it was worn beyond repair. I agreed with Lloyd's option of replacing the mechanism which he ordered and installed. All this was done with expertise and good humor at a very fair price. Thank you very much Lloyd and Rose! read more

excellent service fixed the 32 yr old grandfather clock that was bought at jcpennys in tanforan in san bruno

So friendly! And VERY knowledgeable. My mom's clock (late 1940's) works beautifully now. Thank you.

They were prompt -- Imagine; a clocksmith who makes house calls! -- and fast workers. The five clocks we asked them to look at were running quickly, and the follow-up work they did at the house took about an hour total. The charge was quite reasonable. They came about a week and a half after I called for an appointment, which was great. Highly recommended. (My ID says "Palo Alto" but I live now in Santa Rosa, which is where they are based.) read more

I have a Howard Miller grandfather clock that belonged to my in-laws. We have had it for years and one day stopped. I have used Time Standing Still in the past. They are skilled, prompt and fair priced. Yesterday, yes Sunday, they replaced the clockworks in our clock. Thank You Lloyd and Rose. I would refer them to work on any clocks mostly older units. Lloyd is very skilled. Thank You Very Much Lloyd and Rose. :) read more

My mom called and said she was worried about her Grandfather clock as it hadn't been cleaned in a really long time. I went on Yelp and found Time Standing Still. Floyd and Rose came over and were really nice and helpful. Nothing was wrong with this 25 year old clock but my parents both felt great about having it cleaned and all the attention to detail Floyd and Rose took to let them know the great condition it was in. My parents have another antique clock that hasn't worked in a while and it was discussed on how to repair as well. Lovely people and very knowledgeable. If you need a clock cleaned or repair, this is the company. read more

I have a 1979 Howard Miller Grandfather Clock that would stop at 1:21 am & pm. I would reset it and hope it worked, but NO - it stopped again. Called Time Standing Still on a Friday and they had an opening on Monday. Arrived on time, took the clock apart and for them it was an easy fix. Both Rose and Lloyd have expert knowledge of clocks. Lloyd took the clock apart and did a cleaning and had it back together and running again in about an hour. Very knowledgeable about my clock. Even wore gloves when working on the clock. Their cost for a house call is very reasonable and priceless to me to have my clock running again. Will definitely call again when it is time to clean it again. read more

If you need a grandfather clock repaired (or any other type of clock) and live in Sonoma County or any of its adjacent counties, look no further. Lloyd and Rose Watson are the experts in repair!! And they make house calls! Of course, you may find that they don't answer the phone right away (as they are out making house calls!), but they will get back to you within the day. And a wonderful bonus is they are such delights! Also, if you are considering buying a clock, you should stop in and look at their fantastic inventory. But buyer beware! Once you own one of these old timepieces, it will own you! And that's a good thing. read more

Our clocks were damaged by smoke during the 2019 wildfire near Windsor, CA. My insurance agreed to the cleaning of my clocks as they were not easily replaced. I had two grandfather clocks and 5 cuckoo clocks. We went online and found a local company called "Time Standing Still". It was important to us to try to use a local company and support the local economy. I selected without reading Yelp reviews. That was a mistake as there was a review of another person that had problems getting their clocks repaired and returned. Our story is simple. Lloyd and Rose are great people and represented that the job could be done by Lloyd. They packed up my clocks on 1/20/2020. It took several months to get my grandfather clocks completed and returned. There was very little communication from them on why it was taking so long to get the clocks cleaned and returned. However, upon return, my grandfather clocks worked perfectly and kept great time. I was please with the job, but not with how long it took to get my grandfather clocks back. Little did I know I had not seen anything yet. I did receive two of my cuckoo clocks after about 18 months. The other three were not getting any attention. I actually had to go pick up the last three today on 1/12/2022, a full 2 years after they were picked up for repair. No work had been done on them. I will not recommend anyone get out-of-home service from this company. I am extremely disappointed. read more

They came to Cloverdale from Santa Rosa at no additional charge, arrived on time, very neat and tidy in there work, took the parts for our grandfather clock and the mantel clock back to there shop for repairs. Gave us a quote, charged what they quoted and called to return the items in a very satisfactory time. Very friendly and personable. Great work. read more

Came out and fixed the grandmother clock, took a mantel clock and said it would take a year to repair on 12/14/15, Was fine with that. One year goes by and I called they said it was on the shelf and was moving it to the desk and would have it soon, that was in late January of 2017. I have called several times only to NOT get a return call and if you happen to catch them , it is, will check on it and get back to you. Here we are on 7/11/17 and still NO up date, NO Clock. NO NOTHING. I was very pleased with the repair of the grandmother clock but this mantel clock is another story. read more

Our grandfather clock circa 1800 was damaged when we moved from the coast to Sonoma county. Time standing still repaired it and it is accurate to within 10 seconds a month -not bad for something over 200 years old! They fixed the chimes, all dials and it does work -probably better than it ever has! read more

Rose makes the schedule and Lloyd keeps it ticking! We are VERY happy with their repair to our grandfather clock. They called to confirm our appointment, showed up a little early even and promptly disassembled the parts that needed attention and put them all back in place. Rose and Lloyd make a great team and having them come over was a delightful experience in the inner workings of timepiece repair. We HIGHLY recommend giving them a call if your clock needs help or just a service call! Thanks Rose, Thanks Lloyd read more

I was referred to Lloyd and Rose by another clock repair shop because they are willing to travel, and I live some distance away from Santa Rosa. I emailed, and then Rose and I talked on the phone. I asked them to come up North and take a look at our pretty old, big, and never before serviced grandfather clock. Lloyd and Rose arrived right on time. Lloyd took one look at our clock and immediately knew just what to do. Lloyd is a clock specialist. Clocks are his passion. He inspired confidence in his ability from the very first time he checked our our clock. These folks are really fun to talk to, and not just about clocks. Lloyd is very knowledgeable, and Rose takes care of the paperwork end of the business. Turned out we needed a new movement. Lloyd showed me the problem. I think he enjoyed teaching me about the clock. He explained everything. They took the movement, and returned a few weeks later with a new movement that Lloyd had thoroughly tested before installing it into our clock. Again, they were on time, which is good for a clock repair outfit, and our clock is now running perfectly. Rose told me they guarantee their work for 2 years. I am delighted to recommend Time Stands Still. I would call upon them for help the very minute anything is needed for clock repairs. All puns intended. But, no kidding, these folks are really great. It seemed like they were family right from the start. read more

Lloyd and Rose are awesome! Couldn't ask for nicer people. We have a Grandfather clock that has been in the family for quite a few years, but had not been running in about 3 years. Lloyd gave the clock some TLC, and it's working better than ever. Having Lloyd and Rose in our home was more like having family over, they are just tremendous people. Lloyd and Rose are the best. When I moved to Santa Rosa I had to move my grandfather clock in pieces. Being new to the area, I had no idea who to call to put it back together. Several people referred me to Time Standing Still. This is one of the best referrals I've ever received. Lloyd had my clock back together in no time and it works better than it ever has. When we had an earthquake in '14, I emailed Lloyd to ask how I should brace my clock since it had "walked" during the 'quake. Next thing I knew he was at my door. When I asked why he was here he said "I have to secure your clock". They both are like that. If you need something, they are there. Over the years, Rose and Lloyd have become friends. You couldn't ask for better friends or for better workmanship. Sometimes Lloyd will even look at your shower if you're having a problem. :) Seriously, call them for anything clock-related. I cannot say enough good things about Rose & Lloyd. Our floor clock stopped working about 10 years ago and it was not high on our list of priorities, and then it suddenly moved to #1. I called Time Standing Still and was most impressed by Lloyd's knowledge of clocks and his diagnosis of the problem. Lloyd had to order a new clockworks and our clock is now better than ever! I cannot say enough good things about the service we received. And an added plus was that they are both pleasant. All in all, I would give them 5 stars PLUS! read more
