Waiter spent a great deal of time talking to us just as if we known him for a long time it was great. the level of friendliness and hospitality was very impressive. The menu is very nice and not expensive at all. TRUFFLED BRIOCHE- The dish is amazing even though I did not taste any truffle but there was a entire truffle mushroom itself there, the plate they presented it in was annoying to rest the silverware, was a bowl type of plate and the fork kept falling in lol GOLDEN BREEZE- the drink was suggested by our waiter and it was amazing cudos to him! GNOCCHI- WHAT an unfortunate plate. This was to me not a gnocchi.i love the fact that our waited noticed and made sure to ask me if everything was ok with my choice, that shows that the staff cares about customer service. The gnocchi was blend and tasteless it to me was more of a polenta and not a gnocchi it was cooked pan fried and not like a past should so it was not a great plate definitely not a gnocchi. I would definitely recommend the place, not the gnocchi but the place was pretty nice. come and have a try!

They didn't bring me a spoon with my soup so I had to flag someone down to get one. Not a huge deal but you tend to expect more from a place like this. When I finally got someone she apologized and said I don't know what's happening here, that shouldn't have happened. Really an apology alone would have sufficed without the extra commentary. I had the steak. The steak has a good taste but I ordered hollandaise sauce as my sauce and I wish I would not have poured it on my steak because it wasn't very good. The sauce just really lacked flavor. So, overall it was ok. Not the worst meal I've had but not the best either. I would go back I just wouldn't order the hollandaise sauce.

Basically, the Flying Duck is a gem of a place…read more It has two rooms: The kitchen Bar which feels like home with funny news articles, quirky decor, random bits of tat and even a fully laden clothes line suspend over the bar. The mood in the bar is chilled, with nice mood lighting, good tunes and board games and books to use at your leisure should you want. There's even a microwave which you can use if you bring in your own food to eat! The kitchen bar is open during club hours too, so if you don't feel like dancing you can head on in to the kitchen and chill and/or eat and/or drink and/or play some board games at 2am!! The club is just as unique. there's parts of old furniture attached to the walls, lots of subtle nods to "The Big Lebowski" everywhere and lots of places to sit. There is a big quirky bar with all the mod cons including that lovely vintage tv playing some obscure Japanese films, of course. There's a big no frills dance area, complete with a wardrobe in the middle of the floor to dance around. There's not much in the way of flashy flashy lights, instead they have projections bouncing about the venue providing lighting changes and blasts from the pasts in the way of old footage and stuff. I've seen people stop dancing to reminisce at what they are seeing on the big projection screens. There is a nice set of standard lamps around to supply extra lighting around the tabled ares too. There is space for fowk to dance and sit and mingle with out feeling like a club, even though it kinda is. Friday and saturday nights see a good varied selection of club nights from 90's themed ones with bingo to indie stuff to b-sides to rawk to funk and everything in between. Um Did I mention you you get free toast?! PS. Check out the toilets for years worth of funny graffiti, art and poetry!

We put our name on the list and didn't even have time for me to order a glass of wine from the bar before we were called. The place is larger than I expected, and loud, with its high ceilings and has an industrial feel. Its like a pasta nightclub haha! We ordered the panzanella as a starter on the strong recommendation of our fellow bar patron, the spinach and ricotta ravioli and the beef ragu. The flavors in the panzanella were SO rich, ingredients so so fresh and it was absolutely delicious. The ragu was generous sized and great as well - but the real star of the show was the ravioli. Literally the best pasta dish I've had in my life. It was so buttery and flavorful, we both agreed it was phenomenal. From sitting down to checking out it was very fast as well. I hope to have the chance to get back here some day!
