The sauce was delicious and the hearts crispy and hot, but batter in the hearts was under seasoned and they didn't season them after frying either. Just like a blumpkin, you have to know its coming. Otherwise it's just weird. Yeah, I was jack smacking it all day when I looked up and realized I was not where I wanted to be. Lucky for yours truly I spotted this grub hut on wheels and laid the old Buster Browns towards it straight away. I really do love me some deep fried artichokes from here. Their food truck was at a festival the last time that I got them. The price was increased I think because they were at a festival instead of their usual location. $8 for a serving, for maybe about 7 pieces. But the most disappointing thing about this last time was the actual artichoke part was pretty damned cold. They were probably sitting under a heat lamp for a while. My fault for not going back and asking for a fresher serving, but the people working that day didn't seem the most excited to be there. read more

The best steamed artichoke I ever had -- so plump and juicy -- who knew these things could be so meaty and juicy. The lady even took the time to explain to me how to steam an artichoke (apparently you need to put them upside down, which makes sense). The dipping sauces were legit and something like lemon-thyme or something. The environment is cute in the parking lot of a farmstand and the fried artichoke hearts are tasty though you kind of feel a thin meniscus of oil cover the entire surface of your body as you polish off the order. At the artichoke festival your going to pay twice as much for your deep fried artichoke hearts and they night be half as good as the ones they slang out of the choke coach. Artichoke lumpia, the flavors are subtle in the lumpia and the traditional dipping sauce overpowers the flavor of the artichoke if you use to much. They also get the taco done right. I'd give it a 0 but I can't!! Look......... I'm not about bashing our local vendors, but I was truly disappointed from the beginning to end of this experience. The deep fried artichokes......I couldn't even find the green, I ate crispy batter, no kidding. As I was standing outside enjoying the view and trying to be positive about the amount of money spent on the artichoke and the bratwurst, I turn around and see my daughter pulling out the longest white hair from the taco in her mouth! I can't put into words what my small intestine started to do---I begged for an esophageal stricture..... the expensive food was on its way out!!!!!! I just can't!!!! Just writing this makes me want to vomit and I just can't afford to taste the food again. I'm so upset that I didn't read the Yelp reviews before choosing to try this food trick, yes trick ! (They were somewhat smaller than what we are accustomed to..... probably just a seasonal thing, but crisp and delicious nonetheless, especially dipped in ranch dressing. ) Lumpia (vegetable) was okay.......an interesting option at an artichoke food truck. Pretty disappointed in this truck. We ordered the fried artichokes for $7.00 & carne Asada fries for $6.00 & (3) lumpia for $5.00. The artichoke hearts tasted ok, but I expected more pieces (we got 6) for the price. Maybe thats the going rate, a buck per little heart??....I don't order/eat them often to really know. The fries were the major let down though!! Such a small serving!! I'm not just talking about the Asada part, but the potato part! C'mon, for $7.00, throw some more fries in the basket, please. Or, use a smaller basket to trick the customer. :-/. As for the lumpia, they were bigger than I expected, but the inside was a little cold. The veggies inside were still a little 'frozen'. My wife and I had a hankering for some fried artichokes, and we picked up a small basket for $7 here.
