Adding shrimp to a salad cost about $15, and our total with tip came out to around $140 for two people. For that price point in Monterey, I expected more from the food and overall experience. I had particularly high hopes for the Chicken Caribe based on the description of a citrus-habanero marinade with mango salsa fresca. That might not have been quite as noticeable if the mango salsa had added some moisture, but the salsa was also very dry. It was essentially diced mango, onion and chiles without the juiciness or saucy consistency you'd normally expect from a salsa. There were definitely some good flavors in the Chicken Caribe, so the potential is there. But between the dry chicken, dry salsa and bland burrito, the food was disappointing overall.
