It's a straightforward place - 3 dine-in tables, and counter seating. We opted to eat in and what a delight! Here's what we got: -fish n chips -fish and popcorn shrimp -fried clams w cole slaw -2 New England clam chowdahs The person behind the counter brought our food out to us within 7 minutes - all freshly fried, crisp and hot. The fish was moist and flaky. The chips were salty, crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside. The Cole slaw was divine! Soup is for tomorrow - the sneak taste I had has me counting down the hours. We got there just in time. Within 10 minutes we went from being the only people there to it being standing room only. My general seafood rule is if I can't see the ocean from the restaurant, keep it! But occasionally I'm wrong. As such, I'll be back for the lobster bites, soft shell crab, po' boys, and fantastic service! Note: it's on 22. The Chippery made Yelp North Jersey's list of top fish and chips places, so as a Seattle native I wanted the region's take on a dish I grew up with. The owner, Tamer, is super friendly. He took my order himself, although there's also a huge tablet at the register, and he cooked and brought my food to me at my seat. He also checked up on me as I ate. My double cod fish and chips was served hot out of the fryer. The breading was crisp and clung to the fish, which is awesome, because I hate when the breading separates. And the chips were exquisite - crisp and fluffy with a nice dusting of seasoning. I was impressed that the menu offered cod as an upcharge from the standard white fish, which I dumbly forgot to ask about. I love when a fish and chips restaurant has more than one kind of fish! Love finding these hole in the wall type eateries. Was greeted immediately as soon as I walked in. You can either give your order to the owner. Or enter it into the touch screen tablet. I ordered the shrimp and chips and a one fish on the side and coleslaw. Everything was delicious and the batter was very tasty. I added some old bay seasoning when I got home and the coleslaw was so refreshing. There is plenty of parking. They do have lunch specials so I'll definitely stop in next time. It's a solid fish n chip for a reasonable price. i got the single fish/shrimp/chips with a side of cole slaw. i ate half for dinner and half the next day for lunch which was great. the fish itself did not have much taste. the batter was good consistency if not a bit salty. the shrimp were very small. the chips were better than expected and the cole slaw, which is not complementary, should have been complimentary due to the small portion. Gotta downgrade my rating here... ordered a 10 piece of fish and chips. I had 3 fish, and of the 3, 2 were paper thing (basically almost completely batter). Given that the fish price is almost $4 per fish this did not seem reasonable. Also due to the fact that I was essentially eating just batter, it didn't taste like fish at all, and also felt extremely greasy when I had finished eating. Let's start off with Bisque. It had decent flavor but where's the lobster. I know its a bisque but at least let me feel a couple of lumps in there. Mac and cheese bites were ok. The Mac didn't have much flavor but there batter was on point. So now my shrimpnation dish. With a name like shrimpnation I'd expect either jumbo shrimp or more that 6 small pieces. Now the shrimp had good flavor(but its kinda hard to mess up shrimp) and a very good cook and the chips were good as well. The fish not so much. Batter had no seasoning at all and the fish is bland. This is a damn TASTY fish and chips spot. It's not a fried fish spot. There is a difference, for all those two and three star reviewers not giving credit where it's due. There are a lot of places to get fried fish but finding proper fish and chips, much harder to come by. Don't believe me, just look at the pictures!! We had the special: wild caught cod and chips and added a side of fried clams for good measure. Fish was cooked perfectly, flaky, tender and moist all at the same time. It was plenty for 2 to share. The batter was airy and crispy, coated to perfection. Tartar sauce was like crack and it complimented the vinegar well. I'm usually a heavy pickle flavor tartar girl but this one was thick and creamy with fresh maybe peppers, onion and herbs (idk I'm guessing I was too busy dipping everything I had into it). Biggest regret was not getting extra. Fried clams were meaty and the batter was different than the fish but equally delicious. Chips had a bit of crunch on the outside and were soft on the inside. Seasoned but not salty. Looking at the pics before going I was like "what are these weird little pickle chip looking chips." I'm embarrassed for doubting because they compliment the fish nicely and taste great. Best part is THE FOOD IS FRIED BUT NOT GREASY!!! We were talking about the meal for an hour afterwards and I kept going back to how not greasy the food was. Why wasn't it greasy? Because they clearly keep their oil clean and fry to the right temperature. Two more pluses to the nay sayers. The Chippery just opened last Friday and they replaced an old Chinese take-out/delivery. It's located in the center island of route 22 right next to Starbucks. I ordered the double, which is 2 fish & chips. Fish was crispy, light and flaky. It also wasn't too greasy, as sometimes beer battered fried fish could be. And two thumbs up on the cilantro lime sauce. There's 3 round tables that each seat about 4 people and there's bar seating along one side of the wall should you choose to eat-in.
