So let me start off by saying that I have to go back. There were several competing factors that influenced my review. The main one being I unknowingly was coming down with the flu, which significantly distorted my taste buds. Sashey's is very clean. There is a dine-in area, but as busy as the restaurant was we all took our food to go. When we came in there were only 2 people ordering ahead of us. There was a line to the door by the time we left. We tried the oxtail and chicken patties and had the jerk chicken entrees. Despite not being a red meat eater, I really enjoyed the oxtail patty. It had good seasoning and flavor. I can see why the oxtail dinners were sold out for the day. My partner and I remarked that the jerk chicken was good but was a little drier than our liking. The cabbage, rice and peas were different than any I've had before (vegetables added) but turned out to be my favorite of the entree. I noticed none of the food was spicy, so I recommended Sashey's to my best friend. She can't handle any heat. She loved her food. This was my first order from here. I ordered large oxtail, rice and peas, Plaintain, and cabbage. My son ordered Jerk Pork Rice and peas. The delivery was 40 minutes delayed, but I honestly expected it at the time. The oxtail came and was very black. Unusually very dark, puc is with flash so it looks normal. At first, I was nervous that it may be burnt or dry. They weren't. My second suspicion of too much browning was confirmed after the first bite. It was essentially sweet oxtail. It wasn't bad nor good, just very different and not what I had hoped for. I was looking for Authentic Jamaican oxtail. This ain't it. The Rice and peas were authentic, which makes me think maybe it was an off day for the oxtail or maybe that's just their way. Cabbage was regular just chopped large and not shredded like most places. The oxtail gravy was essentially homemade browning sauce and they didn't give me the plantain. The jerk pork was a good, fatty cut of pork but there was absolutely no jerk flavor nor any sauce at all. I had to grab my own jerk add some bbq to it and reheat it to get the flavor right. It's well worth the wait. It took a little bit for us to be served but it was so delicious, it was worth it. We got the jerk chicken and oxtail stew. We visited the restaurant on New Years Eve, 12/31/20. We were greeted by very friendly staff and they took time to answer our questions about Caribbean cooking. We decided to order the Ox Tails and the Curried Goat. Both were incredibly good. The Ox Tails was served with rice with beans in it. The rice seemed to have a mild coconut flavor and there were two beans, one small and the other broad. Also served with it was a very nice steamed cabbage and sweet plantains. The cook on the plantains was great, with the plantains being cooked well but short of being mushy. Unlike other plantains we've had at other restaurants which were too oily, these weren't. Perhaps they were baked instead of deep fried. As to the Ox Tails themselves, there were probably about 10 segments of tail. They were in a very flavorful brown gravy and cooked to a nice fall off the bone texture. The Curried Goat was our favorite. It had many chunks of goat (with the bone) in a spicy curry sauce. Wow, it was good! It actually reminded us of the Curried Goat we've had in Indian restaurants. Like the Ox Tails the meat was very tender and fell off the bones. The rice that came with the goat was different than the Ox Tails. This rice was spicy with flavors similar to the sauce the goat was in. It also came with the cabbage and plantain side that the Ox Tail had. We also had their Macaroni and Cheese. It was baked in the store and cut to a serving size. Since it was cut, it maintained that nice cheesy crust on the top. The flavor was nice and cheesy and we enjoyed it. When we go back, we'll probably order sides of cabbage and plantains because they were so good and we wanted more than what came with the dinner. As we were waiting for our food, we noticed there was a lot of whole red snapper being purchased. One party had about 7 fish for their New Years Eve gathering. The fish looked nicely prepared, but unfortunately we haven't tried it yet. Next time, we hope. So in summary, we really enjoyed Sashey's Kitchen and will be returning multiple times. read more

Just placed an order on the phone. I ordered a large jerk chicken I wanted pepper steak but they're out so we just got two beef patties and a side of mac & cheese. I will give a full review after we try the food will post pictures as well. The food arrived. It was hot. Everything was fresh and delicious. The large jerk chicken was enough for two people love the flavor of the rice and beans and the addition of the cabbage excellent very flavorful also tried the beef patties. I am so happy we found this place because we go to Jamaica all the time and I eat beef Pattie's every day!! They were delicious and as close to authentic as I can get. Also, tried the delicious mac & cheese. It was out of this world. I love that it was crispy on the edges and moist and delicious on the inside.
