The ambiance was just fantastic. From the moment we walked door we felt comfortable and at home. Everything you could imagine was handled to perfection. The service was without a single flaw from start to finish. This will be our pre Christmas event every year moving forward. Ever single course of our mean was perfectly paired with a fabulous wine. And the food was incredible from start to finish. Unique flavors and perfect presentation made the evening wonderful. The post dinner tour was a must. We truly enjoyed getting to know the staff and the owner. Folks do not pass up the opportunity to have this experience. It's a must visit if you are in the area.

Everything was done SO well at The Chef's Table for our private event. We chose to meet with Lisa prior to our event to curate the menu and see the space. She treated us like family and helped us to create the perfect menu. The space is so eclectic and special. Every dish was incredibly well balanced and creative. The wine pairings were fantastic and went perfectly with each dish. We were able to get drinks other than wine at the bar which were delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

So excited to share my recent experience at The Chefs Table with you. Let me tell you, it was an unparalleled culinary journey that left me absolutely speechless. The Chefs Table is truly a hidden gem, an experience unlike any other I've had before. What sets them apart is their unique approach - no advertisements, focusing on larger groups and special events. From the moment I stepped in, it felt like a home away from home. The highlight for me was being able to walk right into the kitchen and witness the magic happening up close and personal with the talented chefs. The bar service was impeccable, perfectly complementing the outstanding meal that was served to us. Each dish was specially curated and simply mind-blowing. The Chefs Table knows how to serve up the goods in the most exceptional way possible. Wine paired with every course also left our group yearning for more! After dinner they took us on the grand tour of the place showing us some of hidden nooks and crannies that make this place oh so special! I cannot recommend Chefs Table enough for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Pumpkin crème brûlée with house made ginger cookie. Stupendous! - A crème brûlée dessert with a caramelized sugar top is served in a white ramekin, garnished with a ginger cookie leaning against the side. The ramekin is placed on a decorative plate with intricate black and white patterns, set on a tray. In the background, a glass of water and a wooden counter are visible, indicating a restaurant setting.

This place is incredible. The food was top notch but the service and the whole expertise was just phenomenal. Steph provided the perfect amount of attention and conversation during happy hour and the restaurant tour, but gave us enough space during the meal to enjoy the food. Alex ran the show and did a masterful job of cooking and conversing, including details of all the ingredients and recipes. I've spent more money on service that wasn't anywhere near The Chefs Table. We will be back for sure!

Wow what a gem of a restaurant! When you walk in you're greeted by a beautifully created dining area. The more you look the more wonderful eye catching creations you'll find. The owner has done a wonderful job creating a vibrant dining room full of treasures. Each course we had was better than the last. I was a part of a group, so didn't have the pleasure of choosing the menu. However, the chef put his best foot forward and created wonderful dishes and provided exceptionally paired wines for each course. After dinner we adjourned to the basement to find a wonderland of various themed rooms. I won't spoil the fun, just insist you make your way to the basement!!!

My husband and I had a birthday dinner here and couldn't have enjoyed our experience more! The scheduling is a little different as you fill out a request and someone emails you back to discuss details but they were prompt and helpful. When you arrive there's no signage for the business but a door labeled entrance with a cool old school knocker. You're greeted at the door and shown to your provider area for the evening. Everything was fairly laid back and friendly and the staff checked in on us often. We had the five course meal that was absolutely fantastic. The food was incredible and the chef came down to introduce most of the courses and the wine pairings were explained as well. They explained that the chef has owned the building for 11 years and they have been open for 10 and they don't do any advertising so it speaks to itself that they're doing great business! Most definitely worth a special occasion.

We had the best time here for a celebratory girl's dinner at the end of residency! I think we were lucky to have a night with relatively few groups so we had the chance to experience multiple spaces. Immediately on walking in, we got to go behind the bookcase down to the speakeasy for a cocktail before our dinner. Alana, the bartender, was excellent and had great recommendations for our drinks which were all amazing. After our drinks, we were shown into the soda shop, where we had a beautiful charcuterie tray ready. We never felt rushed to sit down for dinner, and the entire staff made us feel very welcomed. The Chef de Cuisine introduced every course along with the sommelier introducing wine pairings and everything was beautifully choreographed. Course 1: Asparagus soup - beautiful, creamy, and paired with a lovely brut wine. I thought it was maybe a bit heavy for summer but the flavors were delicious. Course 2: salad with hydroponic greens, heirloom tomatoes, and feta cheese - fresh and light with a delicious vinaigrette, paired with a Sauvignon Blanc Course 3: shrimp with forbidden rice and a mole sauce, paired with a Pinot noir. This was probably my favorite dish! Lots of complex, unexpected flavors that melded together beautifully. Course 4: duck a'l'orange with Chardonnay. We were all getting a bit full at this point but the duck was so tender with a lovely light sauce, and the chardonnay balanced it beautifully. This was probably one of my favorite duck meals I've ever had. Course 5: strawberry rhubarb tart with lavender ice cream and crystallized ginger. I liked this but wasn't blown away - the rhubarb was a bit crunchy for me but I was also SO full at this point. At the end of our meal, the staff was so kind to offer to take some group photos and let us explore the wine cellar where a different couple had already had their meal. For a dinner in a basement, we were all blown away by the quality of service and decor - this is absolutely a meal to make you feel special and give you a chance to talk and connect with the people you're with. I cannot recommend this experience enough!

Okay how COOL is the Chef's Table! I'd heard of its existence but not much about all it entails, so it was really great to attend a recently holiday event at this exclusive spot. I joined a group of about 30 for my husband's work event, and prior to going, we were made aware that there would be a coursed dinner and a scavenger hunt. You're thinking "how does a scavenger hunt work at a restaurant?" ... yep, I wondered the same. But wow do they pull out all the stops to make the interactive experience an enjoyable one! Upon arriving, my initial thought was how unique and beautiful the place was. There's a massive dinning table as the focal point of the room, beautifully set, and the wall behind it is absolutely covered in pots, pans, and kitchen utensils. Even the chandelier includes overhanging silverware! The decor throughout the room makes for a great atmosphere for sure. With drinks from the bar in hand, we were put into teams, handed a piece of paper with the scavenger hunt outline, and explained how the game worked. Basically, you work together to find clues around the venue. Oh, and when I say venue, that also includes the kitchen and decked out lower level with seemingly secret rooms and a second bar. We followed many clues and riddles and were completely entertained by the whole thing. After an hour of "hunting" the game came to a close and we all sat for dinner. I can't say enough about the delicious food prepared for us. From the pork and halibut to the sweet creme brûlée dessert, the flavors were fantastic. Shout out to this great establishment for hosting such a fun and memorable night for our group. I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique night with a group of friends, family, or coworkers.

When we got engaged in October of 2020, we knew we wanted to have a small intimate wedding and be able to do it in a way we felt would be safe. The staff at The Chef's Table, including Chef David and Secily were very understanding of this and we arranged to have the entirety of our event in their outdoor courtyard. As we got closer to the event, we were fortunate to have all of our guests vaccinated from COVID-19 and were able to shift our dinner to be inside, an adjustment which the team at The Chef's Table were more than happy to make. On our big day, the staff was flexible, fun, engaging, helpful and kind to both us (the groom and bride) and all of our guests. The food was incredible and the memories are as amazing as we could have hoped for. Thank you all for making our special day feel special, comfortable and delightful.

What an interesting and unique place! My wife and I kept talking about how this would be the perfect location for a company party or a wedding reception. It is split up into multiple areas that really convey a sense of privacy. We ate in the soda shop (just the two of us, but it probably could have seated six) and it was like we were the only ones there - minus the occasional sounds from other groups elsewhere in the building. We even had our own personalized music - there was an Alexa unit that we could ask to play any kind of music we wanted. Service was very good and the wine pairings with dinner were exceptional - the wine went so well with the various courses. Great job there. Also really loved the explanation of the dishes and the pairings that came with each course. Unfortunately, the food itself was a bit of a mixed bag... First course was a sunchoke soup with sunchoke chips and a very generous serving of shaved truffles on top. It was decadent and fantastic and really raised our expectations for the dishes to come. The second course, however, was a bit of a letdown. It was a salad that was actually very good, but the smoked trout that I'm sure was intended to elevate the dish really just overpowered it. I was still tasting smoked trout a couple of hours later on the drive home. The next dish was much better. It was a pasta course with crispy mushrooms and prosciutto and pine nuts in a really good pomodoro sauce - and topped with Asiago cheese. Really tasty dish! The biggest disappointment of the night, though, was what should have been the star - short ribs with risotto. The risotto was terrific, very creamy and flavorful. There's no way to describe the short ribs, however, other than... tough. Amy commented that she'd never had short ribs that she had to saw through. Our experience has been that properly cooked short ribs are fall apart tender and we've never needed more than a fork for them. These, however, could definitely have used a steak knife. The chef had explained the days-long cooking process for this dish; marinating for so many hours, then hours of braising and finally more hours of sous vide cooking. Something somewhere must have gone wrong on this occasion, though. I can't imagine how the meat could have gone through that treatment without being incredibly tender - but it most definitely wasn't. Neither of us finished this dish - or really had any interest in taking it home with us when asked. The evening did end on a high note, however, with dessert. It was a salted caramel crème brulee and was delicious - sweet, creamy, with a great crust of caramelized sugar. Overall, I have to think that the short rib dish was just an outlier that, 99 times out of 100, would have been as good as the description of it made it sound. Still, it was such a letdown that I really can't give the Chef's Table the five stars that every other aspect of the evening deserves.

Did you know this place existed? Hopefully after I write this review you will know about it and make your reservations ASAP. A friend treated us for the molecular gastronomy dinner (fancy for playing with chemicals and food). It was a Thursday evening so it was a small group - only 8 of us total so we definitely got a hands on experience. First, you can make sure any food allergies or special diets are accommodated prior to the event. We had some nut allergies and opted for a lower carb dinner. Starting out you are greeted by a special cocktail with some appetizers prior to the meal. The cocktails are very unique and creative. Ours used a special tea that turns into a beautiful blue color in the cocktail....absolutely delicious. Next you are invited into the kitchen wearing your apron because you will be cooking a bit Dana who has worked at Michelin rated restaurants will be your guide through the evening along with her staff. You can get as involved as you would like or simply watch - we chose to get our hands dirty. We used techniques like spherification, foams, reverse spherification and other techniques that were heavy on the xantham gum, agar agar, and other ingredients. We used sous vide which is a technique I adore. Many different ways of using molecular gastronomy which was cool. Dana is very down-to-earth and really is a joy to cook along side. She makes the experience a blast along with her team. After you cook you get to plate your own dishes for each course. The team will serve and pair the courses with different wines and cocktails. Some people had pretty plating while others could definitely use some help! All in we cooked three courses which was very filling. You have the option of taking home your leftovers because it is difficult to eat everything. I highly recommend this for a friend group outing or a work event. Trust me you won't be disappointed!!!!

A tall wine glass filled with red wine is positioned on a wooden table, with a copper pot containing a plant nearby. The background shows a restaurant interior with warm lighting, wooden accents, and shelves with glassware. The setting suggests a dining experience at a restaurant or wine bar.

Wasn't sure what to expect at this private dining wine dinner. Everyone was greeted at the door. Unsure if that was due to Covid or just hospitality. We started at the bar with hand delivered appetizer plate. Not a lot of seating so standing for the hour or so was a little difficult if you have ailments. There were love seats available for a few but no one in our party utilized them. The table is set for the complete five course wine paired dining experience. Because I wasn't involved in the menu selection, unsure of the options. The asparagus soup was on point with just the right amount of velvety creamy taste and consistency. The salad included fresh smoked trout which I thought was a little salty which overpowered the taste of the fish. The pasta was in a creamy mascarpone sauce but grated cheese was not offered to top the pasta, which I thought was strange. The veal was kind of boring and lacking flavor without any spices whatsoever. Dessert fork so tiny and kind of difficult to consume sticky schaum torte. Coffee is quite "light" for true coffee Connoisseurs. Overall average experience for a near 4 hour meal.

We were worried that they might not be able to accomodate all of us, but we were super okay if they split us up into two tables, which they had to end up doing. We sat in their second dining room which ended up being perfect. It wasn't too crowded and the place has a cool ambiance. It's vintage and has that diner feel but maintains its modern effects especially with the Riverwest neighborhood. I ordered a bloody mary which was amazing!! I can be pretty particular when it comes to my bloody's but this was the perfect flavor, spiciness, and the garnishes were super fun. As I said before I was super hungry so I got their dream burger with fries. It was a patty with tomato, onion, lettuce, and cheese. When it came out my eyes popped out of my head cause holy cow was that thing HUGE! I could only eat half of it and I took the rest to-go. It was super juicy and flavorful. The fries were crispy and perfectly salty, it was hard to stop eating them. We also ordered french toast for the table which was just as delicious. It was made with some sort of sourdough bread so it was nice and fluffy. There was a raspberry compote that made it nice and refreshing, and a sweet cinnamon butter to tie it all together. If I came in for breakfast this would be the perfect sweet meal to order. Our server was super nice and attentive, and made sure to check on us when needed and refilled our drinks if we asked. We were in and out pretty fast. Overall it was a great place and I would definitely come again for breakfast!

The catch of the Day was bluegill, but we opted to get the cod fry. The cod was perfectly crispy with a thin yet crunchy batter. The fish was cooked to perfection and flaky. Super impressed by the fish. The potato pancake was tasty, but quite thick- not typical to what I'm used to with a potato pancake, but nonetheless very tasty. It can with homemade applesauce which I wanted a jar of. Unfortunately, my least favorite part of the fish fry was the coleslaw. It was advertised as a poppy seed, pineapple coleslaw and I didn't really get any hint of pineapple. I felt that it was a little bland compared to the deliciousness of the other items. But I also tend to go with a creamier version of coleslaw. We ordered the chili and the clam chowder to come before the meal. I would consider the chili to be quite smokey, almost as if they used a smokey tomato. It was good, but very thick. The clam chowder was also very thick. I'm typically used to a thinner type of soup, but it was extremely flavorful. Overall, my experience was great. I would gladly go again and try a lot of the other. Really wonderful menu items listed that are unique and seem to be home-cooked! This place had a really unique decor inside. It was bright and friendly looking. Our server was also very attentive. I wouldn't say she went above and beyond explaining options or dishes, but we also didn't inquire about anything overly difficult.

This was perfect for us because it was much quieter in that room so we were able to have a conversation while enjoying our breakfasts! The design of the restaurant is so beautiful, with pink accent walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and painted flowers. It was the perfect backdrop to take photos of our food! Our waitress, Sophie, was so great! She was very kind and welcoming, she made sure we got our food quickly, and she even put a birthday candle in my pancakes! For my birthday breakfast, I indulged in some chocolate chip pancakes. It was definitely a chocolate overload, with chocolate chips inside and on top of the pancakes, and a generous drizzle of chocolate syrup on top. It was a big portion of 3 pancakes, and while they were definitely delicious, they were so rich that I couldn't finish it all! My sister had the cinnamon icing French toast, which looked like a cross between a cinnamon roll and French toast. She finished it all and said it was amazing! My dad took the more savory route and ordered the meat lovers skillet. It came with over-easy eggs and breakfast potatoes, and it was another generous serving that was a good deal for the price. I loved the SweetDiner, and I would definitely come here more often if I lived closer!

With their rotating menu items and weekly specials, I am definitely coming back after having such a flavorful and fun meal. Waited about an hour on a busy Saturday since one of their locations was closed, but the food was well worth it! I had gotten Wolfie's Patty Melt and it was filling and a great start to our morning. The bread was nice and crisp from the buttered griddle and held everything together perfectly. Inside the crunchy sandwich were 2 seasoned patties and enough gooey cheese to make it rich, but not heavy. To contrast the fatty flavor, there was a slightly tart bacon jam and onions that were truly caramelized. Overall really tasty sandwich with no notes! In the description it says there is a sauce, but I could only taste the onions and jam, so I'm not too sure what it added. The side of fries was ok, but I think some crispy thinner ones would have been better with the sandwich. For my drink, I got a hot Ube Chai. The chai was strong and had a spicy kick to each sip. Already a subtle flavor, the ube was not very strong with the chai mixed in, but still added fun color. The design on top was also very cute and added another dink of sweetness. My girlfriend got the Spamelette for her main and it was pretty pretty and delish. Not too often that you see Spam, but when you see it, trust it earned its spot on a menu! The big chunks of Spam and accouterments gave each bite a pleasant feel and one full of flavor. I was skeptic of the mushrooms at first, but they were seasoned well and added another kind of texture to the meal. I think my favorite toppings were the drizzle of kewpie and the green onions... not sure if it counts as a topping, but the tamari glaze of the spam made it delish. Taste aside, it was also a pretty meal! Pook got a Hot Chocolate for her drink. Nice simple drink for the cold weather. We would have liked to see some more chocolatey flavor, but still a good milky drink for the meal. This drink also had a fun design and nice cream top, yum yum yum. This was such a tasty meal and they have lots of other options that I was debating on getting - I guess we gotta come back! It was a really cold day, but the cozy atmosphere and hot drinks with our food made it a great experience. We had originally planned on going to the Downtown location, but it was closed because of heating problems. I wish there was a bit more uniformity between their menus, especially since the Brewers Hill menu has different items and is smaller, so it feels like there is quite the difference between locations. Going off of that point, I am excited to try their dinner menu when it releases and see how it compares to when we ate Downtown! I am not sure how the places differ, but I felt the food here to be more flavorful than the other location. In addition to the dining area, they had a small shop and coffee area in the back while you waited for your table. It was fun and made time pass faster, but I feel as though that area is also perfect for dining. Maybe there are specific reasons why it isn't, but just a thought. Hope to come back soon!

Miss Katie's has the classic look and taste of a 50s diner, no doubt about that! From the authentic…read moreperiod tables, colors, light greasy-diner smell and a jukebox, you really experience that charm. Miss Katie's has a surprising amount of tables, booths and a bar for a lot of seating. Very large menu with the breakfast-all-day bonus, plus they label what famous politicians have ordered (ex: Bill Clinton, Michelle Obama, Donald Trump) with the date they visited as a fun extra. Everyone at our table had burgers, apart from myself, who had breakfast and a 50s chocolate shake (I had to, I swear!). Okay tasting breakfast, amazing shake! Everyone seemed to enjoy the burgers. Unfortunately there isn't a children's menu, which was a bummer. We brought our 2yo so we ended up getting her a $13 plate of chicken...wow, definitely 5× more than a toddler could eat but we took it home. No changing table in the restroom, kind of inconvenient. I probably wouldn't bring my young kiddo again but would definitely stop by again for the atmosphere and friendly service with a smile!

Its got that old-school feel with both tables and naugahyde leather booths. Its also got a large bar area with a lot of seating. When the tables are busy during lunch, I'll sit at the bar and eat there. The food is what I would call "American Comfort." Dinner and lunch specials, typically, and also some of the things that their sister restaurant, Pitch's, serves including but not limited to their onion ring loaf, stuffed chicken breast, meatloaf, Sicilian filet, Pitch's ribs, etc. The servers here are extremely efficient and no-nonsense. Parking is a breeze with street parking always abundant. Great food at a fair price. What more could you ask for?

Did you know that Blue's Egg serves a fish fry on Fridays during Lent? Until last week I didn't…read moreknow that either. Their website has a popup on the home page saying it comes with fried haddock, potato pancakes, applesauce, and rye bread, but the popup doesn't list the price and it isn't available through the online ordering function. I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.
