I bought a used computer from Jeremy on 2/14/2014. He brought it to my home and set it up. The CD player was not working and I said that it wasnt really that important at that time. He did say that my pictures did not transfer over to the new computer..( my pictures of my deceased sisters & niece. I also had 8+ years of grandkids pictures. He brought back the "black pack" which held everything from my old computer. I then brought it back to him a few months later as I was starting to have issues with the new computer. To this day ( 1/27/2015) I have yet to get my pictures back and EVERYTHING in my folders in my new computer have a virus. Jeremy knew of the virus issue, brought back the computer, supposedly was cleaned up but still cannot open any of my Word documents and pictures I downloaded a few months ago. I've left messages via email, via voice mail and NO RETURNED CALL. I also had a really bad experience with him via phone. He actually raised his voice and cursed...then when I explained to him what was going on, he did apologize for his outburst. ALL I WANT IS MY PICTURES AND ALL MY DOCUMENTS TO BE RETRIEVABLE. Dowloaded malicious software on my computer and it became infected with viruses, popups, and malware. My antivirus programs couldn't remove the infections, so I brought it in for them to get it fixed up. I could have went through the registry files myself and attempted to solve the problem, but didn't want to risk it so I took it to them to fix it. It looks like all they did was download a couple anti-virus programs, scanned them, and then deleted the program from the computer. They charged me $80 and returned it to me. I still noticed the Virus popups in google chrome, so I took it back in and told them what was going on. They had another look at it and returned it the same day. Virus popups are STILL appearing in Google Chrome. They charged me $80 and had two looks at the computer and were still unable to remove the infections. These are really nice guys, and they seem like they know their stuff when it comes to computers, but I couldn't be more disappointed and strongly suggest you DO NOT bring in your computer for virus removal. read more

I would like to have my money back. But let me tell you something. My review was NOT about that you guys didn't fix the screen (because I said it was my stupid mistake that I might have shortened the motherboard). My review was about the MIC and Camera that are not working after you put back the old screen. To prove you wrong, before coming to you and ask for the screws, my laptop was WITHOUT any screen and the MIC and Camera cable was connected and I was able to use them. It is just when I came and requested you put the old screen, I went back home and couldn't use the MIC or Camera. Afterwards, I took my laptop to another guy in Milpitas so that he can double check that it is a problem with the motherboard, guess what !!? He removed the screen and with no surprise from my side, the MIC and Camera cable was NOT connected. He just connected it and they worked Perfectly. So basically your point of view about the relation between the motherboard being shortened, the dim screen, and the Camera and Mic cable is NOT Valid. An extra star for your refund offer though. If you don't mind, I will call you tomorrow to arrange how I can be refunded, because I'll not be able to pass by tomorrow. Maybe Thursday or sthg. Thanks! read more

I read many reviews about them, but after trying them I feel they did not respect my time at all. First, I gave them my PC because their is continues beeps and they told me it's power issue and they order it and wait about 2 weeks to arrived. Surprisingly after all that time waiting and assuring it's power issue they told they are mistaken and it's probably hard drive. I upset about their wasting my time and I think they did not deserve their rating. read more

Super fast response and service!! Found cheap squad when i was about give up searching shop thru web to repair my laptop. Im from Malaysia, working on temporary assignment here..my laptop failed to startup out of sudden, and js knew that major repair shop here is base on hour basis. feel lucky find cheap squad. I start with email ask for a quotation by describe my problem, day after, Jeremy replied with estimate cost and strongly suggest check in my laptop, he stressed NO FIX NO CHARGE. I was surprised with the policy and decided to give a try. Check in my laptop late evening same day and Jeremy try diagnosis on the spot and suspect bad GPU, left my laptop. Just day after, i received email from Oscar. He confirmed is bad GPU and need to replace motherboard, explain thru mail on the total cost and ask whether to proceed with repair. My laptop is about 4-5yrs old, so i decided not to proceed but take out HDD instead. Oscar is very helpful and offer to put external casing for my hdd. The price is really reasonable and i will say you cant get any in the town. And eveything is settled within 3days. Pick up my unit this afternoon and was very impressed by the way Jeremy explained the problem. He even plug on the hdd and show me step by step how to access without my request. I never experience such friendly customer service before. I am strongly recommend Cheap Squad to those who look for pc repair. They are really put 110% focus on customer! My son had an issue with his PS3, I brought it to The Cheap Squad this morning around 11:30AM. Walked into the store and described my issue. I also explained that my 13 year old son lives in a boring house now that his PS3 isn't working. Their no fix no pay policy made me very happy. I got a call less than 3.5 hours later that they diagnosed the problem and it was fixed. Picked up the PS3 this evening after work and the guys were very informative and explained exactly what they did...their warranty on the parts was very impressive. These guyz are awesome. Jeremy is an awesome guyz. Jordan is also friendly. They help me out with all my concern. My Velocity custom PC wasn't able to connect with the monitor and I brought it to these awesome guy. They run the diagnostics and found nothing wrong with it. Also, they found a hard plastic in the power supply which make the PC have a noisy sound, Jeremy took it out for me with NO charge. and Finally, they do not charge me anything because the computer has nothing wrong. 95% of the four to five stars is true! My laptop froze. I looked around and found Cheap Squad. Based on mostly 4/5 star reviews, I brought my laptop there. I talked to Jose. He took in the order. He made a simple diagnosis, turned out my mouse was somehow disabled. Jeremy, the owner, I believe came by and helped out. It was fixed. I will recommend to anyone. Jeremy did not end up fixing my laptop. We discussed the cost involved vs how long the fix would last vs buying a new laptop. He walked me through this and I decided on a new laptop. He did not lead me in the direction of repair which would benefit his company (I assume it's his WELL run company) and instead offered the best solution for me, the customer. He offered more information about how to get the files from my old laptop, wrote down the parts I would need, removed the hard drive for me, wrapped everything up and I was on my way. If you are having issues with your laptop or desktop don't think twice just bring it into these guys. I've used Geek Squad, Staples IT, and even other small Tech shops and the Cheap Squad is the place I would go back to without hesitation and a place I feel more than comfortable recommending to others to use if they need their services. After 24hrs they gave me an initial estimate and diagnoses that it was the power source. They also told me that they could not be 100% sure until they ordered a new power source to test. I felt that was fair and then they told me if the power source did not fix the issue I would not be responsible for the replacement cost. After another day or so i recieved a call and they explained that after additional testing and prior to ordering the power source they were able to fix the issue by replacing some parts, cutting my cost for parts and labor in half. I looked up online their explanation for the repairs and found the motherboard i owned had a couple of articles / blogs stating that very issue. I was extrememely impressed with the fact that the Cheap Squad was thorough and transparent about all the work that would be done and the costs associated with everything. At the end of the day the job was done well and lower than the inital quoted costs which does not happen often. Don't think twice, just bring your computer in if you are having issues they will get it done and deliver better service than you can ever expect. read more

They took the time to explain to me how my hard drive worked and the possible issues that might be causing it to malfunction.
