But something about being here during winter was...magical. High class, intimate, romantic place for your partner and you to have a quiet getaway. The bar has fun cocktails both in the mansion and at the pavilion. The food was PHENOMENAL. My favorite was the truffle fries. They actually used real shaved truffle on top instead of just truffle oil like a lot of other places, so I appreciate the commitment to the craft. Complimentary breakfast was *chefs kiss*. Fun night time hangout at the fire pits with s'mores and brick oven pizza all night. I need to come back and stay in those cabins, I stayed in the mansion and it was the best sleep I've had in months. But you know what the stand out feature was? The staff. From the greeters, to the bartenders, to the management, they really made you feel special. Efficient, attentive, warm and welcoming. About 6:30pm, the ceremony with a live music started followed by passed hors d'oeuvre, fresh oysters, and wood fired pizza. The wood fired pizza was very delicious and I enjoyed the blackened shrimp and the arancini. I tried the cider and the rosé, but they were too dry for my taste. Then at 7:45pm, we went into the reception pavilion. The menu consisted of a salad as first course, a duet plate of salmon and beef short rib for entree, and dessert. The summer citrus salmon with the multi grain pilaf was very good. After first dance, father and daughter dance, mother and son dance, and speeches, the DJ told us to step outside. After a few minutes, the sky exploded with light. It was a beautiful fireworks display from the hillside. The bathrooms were stocked with essentials in the toiletry baskets. Red Maple Vineyard offers a rustic barn and reception pavilion, massive green grounds, and a beautiful garden.

But you can still tell that it was beautiful in its day. The rooms are surrounded by fields and woods. We arrived at dusk, in the summer, and there were a lot of fire flies. My 5 1/2 year old ran after them. The sounds of crickets and maybe even frogs was loud all night. Our room faced the courtyard, which is definitely nicer than the rooms facing the parking. If you like David Lynch, you will definitely love this hotel.

April was a dream to work with: So knowledgeable, helpful, and always available for both big and small questions/concerns. She even gave us the best last-minute decor suggestions during our ceremony rehearsal. We absolutely cannot imagine the wedding planning process without her! As for the space, we fell in love immediately. Senate Garage was the perfect in-between space for us: Not a ballroom or a barn or a loft space; a space that could be customized, but was absolutely stunning on its own. The exposed brick felt unique and the historic grounds felt so perfectly us. We walked away feeling like we found our venue. The venue comes with a few pieces of furniture, including stunning farm tables and chairs, and a few chairs and a sofa for extra seating! Our wedding was in early November so both the ceremony and reception were indoors. While the grounds are stunning, we absolutely loved our indoor ceremony. It felt very intimate. I had the tiniest bit of worry about having the room turnover between the ceremony and reception, but the Senate Garage staff (including our amazing caterer Bridge Creek Catering) were absolute pros. Everyone was absolutely shocked by how quickly everything was put perfectly into place. The bar service, which is handled through SG/April, was also incredible. We recommend working with quite a few of their preferred vendors, as they know the space extremely well and Senate Garage clearly does a great job of vetting the companies they work with. It will make your wedding process so much easier! Kingston has always had a special place in our hearts (one of our first dates was at a bar across the street), and we couldn't imagine a better place to get married in the city. So drive your Range Rover and not your Ferrari to Opus 40 (although some of the country roads nearby provide incredible driving opportunities). Price: $12 on site for adults, $11 online with $1 service charge. Misc tips: (1) Buy tickets online. For two people or more, buying online saves at least a dollar and guarantees entrance on busy weekends. (2) Try to visit in mid-October as the leaves change.
