Cellar Door is so cute! It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. I love the custom-made chairs and the beautiful big wooden tables. It's great for large parties. They have an extensive drink menu, with cocktails, local and imported beer, and wine. The Tapas Experience, $30 for 3 tapas, is such a good deal! Service was good! They did a good job of spacing out serving us the tapas. For drinks, I tried the Bourbon Peach Smash, Blackberry Gin, and Godiva Chocolate Martini. All cocktails were $12. They were all good! However, I didn't see any fresh muddled peaches in the Bourbon Peach Smash. Here's the food I tried: - Adult Fries ($12): Amaaaazing. Not spicy to me! - 3 Cheese Arancini ($12, unless part of Tapas Experience): Fine, but 3 balls just isn't worth it to me. - Lemon Ricotta and Roasted Red Pepper Crostini ($12, unless Tapas Experience): Super good!! - Bruschetta ($12, unless T.E.): Delicious! - Duck Confit Egg Rolls ($16, unless T.E.): Such a large portion! Very good! - Buffalo Chicken Sliders: They were out of short rib, so they recommended these to us instead. I wasn't a huge fan and wouldn't get these again. - Tapas Tacos (3 for $15, but you get 2 when doing T.E.): We tried the Jamaican Jerk Chicken and the Black Bean. Neither were that great. Next time, I would do the Tapas Experience and get the Lemon Ricotta and Roasted Red Pepper Crostini, Bruschetta, and Duck Confit Egg Rolls. That was enough between 2 people. For my first time in Huntington WV, I happy that I found this place. An underground delight! Tapas, witch, to me, were large portions. (And I can eat) The atmosphere was relaxing and could totally be a date night environment, to birthday, to suite and tie cocktails after work! Totally multi situation friendly! Love the couch and chair set up! But if you just want to sit at a table or bar, they have that option as well! Now speaking of bar, they have a solid selection of drinks, (Bourbon being my favorite) the upper shelve selection was not large, but I'm normally okay with that because it keeps this Whiskey and Bourbon snobs that just want to talk about how expensive the bourbon they drink is. As long as they have a solid selection of mid rang, and a good mixer/bartender then I'm a happy camper! NOW speaking of mixer/bartender. Chelsey was great. Makes a solid cocktail and handles the back of the bar like a true professional, you can definitely tell she is there to help this establishment keep there customers and make new locals and visitors want to come back! Yes! On that note, I will be back, main reasons, the whole staff was friendly, they get to you in a quick and professional manor to explain the menu. Tried to enjoy a nice leisurely Easter Day meal. First time eating there. Drove from Charleston to enjoy a leisurely brunch with my sweetheart. Our reservation was scheduled for 1:15 pm and we arrived on time. We tried to order the deviled eggs for a appetizer and a few moments later we were told they were out. So, we decided to just order our meals and again the server returned to inform us of the meals they were out of. I don't understand that the restaurant managers/owners knew it was going to be a very busy holiday and should have ordered accordingly. I felt bad for the server who I believe was embarrassed to tell us of the food they were out of. I don't believe I will never give the The Cellar Door another try. Update: the food took at least 30 minutes before we were served. My meal was brought out first and my sweetheart had to wait another 5 minutes for his to make it to the table. I ordered the Wonderland and he ordered the smoked salmon. Mine was barely warm by the time I started eating. It was fair. The bacon was extremely overcooked, the eggs fair but I did like the sausage gravy. At one point a woman who identified herself as one of the new owners came to apologize that they had 40% more for brunch than expected. I still stand with my review and we aren't going to return. Really wanted to try their pork belly tacos but they ran out so I got the shrimp one and the jerk chicken taco. The "jerk" one didn't really taste Jamaican inspired..it was still quite good but not the right name for it and not what i was expecting from a jerk taco. Shrimp taco was good. This is our first time in Huntington, we came here to see the McElroy brothers! I did some looking around prior to see what there was to eat and see, etc, and I found this restaurant. I had high hopes, but it really wasn't my favorite. The place wasn't exactly busy, there were a lot of servers and busters etc, however wait times for food were a bit long, and our waiter didn't even bring over silverware and napkins until we asked. Presentation on the plates were pretty nice but everything was sub par in flavor. My husband and I bought both felt a bit cheated as we love small plates and charcuterie, and nothing quite excited our palettes enough. We were definitely in the mood for some pizza elsewhere afterword! Overall good ambiance and decor is quirky, but I wouldn't go back again when we come for Candlenights again next year. read more

After what seemed like months I finally talked my boyfriend into trying a new restaurant. I had eaten at the cellar door previously and had a good experience, but since they don't have an updated menu online and my boyfriend is a picky eater, we were just winging it. Our server was great. Scott, if you're reading this, you're wonderful. We got jalapeño corn cakes, Spanish beef and beer cheese dip. The only thing he ate was the beer cheese dip. The corn cakes were good, but they had a mountain of what their menu referred to as "pico" on them. That was not pico. Whatever it was, it was also called sofrito on their Spanish beef. There were stewed tomatoes and bell peppers and it was cold and it made everything it touched have the bell pepper taste which I do not like. The mound of sofrito that was on my Spanish beef was appalling. My entire dish was cold because of it. I ended up scraping as much of it off as I could. In the end, it was edible. I absolutely loved this decor. The atmosphere was very chic - a great place to hang out and share a drink and appetizer with your friends. I really liked how hey had traditional tables as well as couches with tables that made it feel almost like a living room (in a way better way). My friend and I came and split a charcuterie board and the spinach and artichoke flatbread. Both were really delicious. I loved the spicy cheese on the cheese board. I thought their drinks were somewhat expensive for a graduate student and the waitress took a little long to bring our checks, but I think she was trying to be polite and not interrupt the conversation(we came at 3 pm on a Saturday and there weren't many people there). Day of we got fully dressed in costume, got the toddler dressed in costume, coordinated with 3 other groups who also got preschoolers dressed in costume, got there ON TIME and the door was locked. tried calling, no answer, check the FB event- it's not been cancelled. Call again... nothing. apparently they just decided to not show up for THEIR OWN event. We had 3 very disappointed children who were expecting a Halloween brunch party. No FB announcement, no call, their BOO BRUNCH event page is still up, NOTHING! We stood out there with hungry kids for 25 minutes trying to figure it out. Luckily, Black Sheep was able to seat us but I am so disappointed. I get that things happen but they didn't have the decency to call and let me know, and that's just rude AF. read more

A true GEM tucked away in Huntington. Ambiance was lush and at the same time cozy. The service was attentive, helpful, and all around spot on. The food was to put it lightly a hit. We started with the Adult Fries which first of all was plentiful, but also yummy! Then got the Mini Crab Cakes that my 6th grader devoured. Next the Lemon Ricotta and Roasted Red Pepper Crostini which was messy but just as delightful. Then we got the Duck Confit Egg Rolls and let me tell you these were DIVINE! If we hadn't already also ordered the Meat and Cheese Tray we would have ordered a second of the egg rolls. Oh and let's not forget the last dish we ordered. You won't be disappointed with that meat and cheese tray! It was simply beautifully laid out and par for the course delicious. All the food was well prepared and beautifully served. I really enjoyed the Cellar Door! Maybe it's not technically 'real' tapas, but if you go in knowing what to expect it's great! Basically they have a huge drink selection and a bunch of appetizers for everyone at the table to share family-style. Our group of 7 really enjoyed it. The best thing we ordered was the 'adult fries,' and then the shrimp, spicy crab cakes, and stuffed mushrooms were fabulous. I didn't taste the pork sliders or beef nachos, but they disappeared quickly. I thought the wonton chips/cheese dip was a little greasy. The tortellini was good- but toasted not boiled, which was good (just different). The cauliflower was truly disgusting, but I've heard other people gush about it, so maybe it was just off when we went. Expect to share your food (although you don't have to), and expect to pay about $18-20 a person (2 plates per person was recommended and seemed about right). I think it would be okay as a date night- but I'd be inclined to go upstairs to Le Bistro (which had a lot of the same food items), and go here with big groups. Overall it was fantastic! read more

Absolutely wonderful! Huntington's hidden gem. The atmosphere is very attractive and they are very accommodating. We had our sons wedding luncheon there and the food was absolutely amazing. I recommend the duck egg rolls the bruschetta and the roast beef sliders were so delicious. Everyone at the table ( and there was 20 people) all said their food was wonderful. Definitely will return. It took FOREVER to get the food, and the food wasn't even warm or good. The waiter tried to accommodate, but he didn't have the support. I don't believe it ever found its rhythm. Maybe owners have one too many projects and should try to focus on the ones they have. I try to support locally owned businesses, but I wont be going back. read more

Tried the bean cake (amazing) the chorizo dip ( get with double bread no chips) the wings (Thai chili was awesome) the duck confit tacos were great the bacon date toast with feta was crazy good.
