High tops for bar seating.

Quicksilver is an awesome arcade bar and a welcome addition to the Huntington downtown, conveniently located right next to the theater and across from Roosters Wings. Here's hoping they stick around for a long time to come! Visited here three times so far, and it's been a lot of fun each time. They have a ton of retro games, spanning the early 70's to late 90's machines. Along the walls they have quite a few of the older consoles hooked up to play as well. The best part is the price: so long as you make a food and/or drink purchase, most of the games are free to play! The exceptions to this are the pinball games, air hockey, and Dance Dance Revolution; while I'm not sure why the pinball machines are extra, the DDR and air hockey being extra is understandable given their degree of popularity. I was lucky enough to be one of the first to try out their food offerings from Dig Dog, the mini-restaurant inside the arcade bar. They have an excellent assortment of creatively-designed hot dogs, fries, tots, and mac and cheese to choose from. One of my only issues with this place is that the hot dogs can be undercooked from time to time; I am hoping that once they become more popular, they can have hot dogs continuously grilling so that they always have one ready to go and don't feel the need to rush the cooking to serve it to waiting customers. The bar is very inviting and offers a multitude of specialty beverages. If you have a larger group, they have plenty of tables nearby the main bar to sit at. The craft beer selection is quite good and prices are what you would expect to pay at other places in the Pullman Square area. Try the specialty drink "Butterbeer" for sure! The staff members here have always been very polite and friendly during my visits, and they do a great job keeping the place clean. After 8pm, the place becomes adults only, which is nice to help ensure a quieter but still fun atmosphere. Truth be told, I am curious how long the video game console setups will last, since I see some careless person drop the controller on the concrete floor nearly every visit. Come on people, if you want nice things to last, don't break them! Here's my best recall of noteworthy games this location has, though this is not exhaustive by any means: Dance Dance Revolution, air hockey, 8-10 pinball machines (including Guardians of the Galaxy and Black Knight), many game consoles (including Sega Genesis, SNES, Dreamcast, and newer consoles in the couch area), Burgertime, Qbert, Mortal Kombat I and II, Asteroid, Missile Command, Time Crisis 2, Cruisin' USA, Carnevil, Area 51 Site 4, Dig Dug, and many more. I'm so glad this area finally has enough customers to support cool hangouts like this. I will be sure to do my part to keep them going! Overall: 4.5 stars ------- Pros: - Great selection of video games, and with most of them being free, the price is right! - Awesome selection of food and drinks to suit every palate. - Nice staff help to make this an enjoyable experience. - Perfect place to relax and get away from the world for a while. Cons: - Dig Dog hot dogs could use a little more time cooking, though I'm sure they will iron out that issue very soon.

Even once we were seated the server was telling us that the kitchen was a bit backed up so that is why our food was taking a little longer. Our waitress was nice and friendly. She gave us honest opinions about the items on the menu, which is always great to have. We ordered the Meggie's Bread Sticks with Cheese as our appetizer. It was delicious, especially with the added cheese. It came with some red sauce stuff to dip the bread sticks in. The pizza we got was the 14 inch Gladiator. It had 6 slices. It was good, but a bit messy (and hot when it first came out). At the end we ordered the Backyard Hay Stack (minus the nuts). That was really good as well and we devoured it. The ambience was good. It was a little loud, however it was crowded. There was a little astronaut theme going on here. I recommend coming to Backyard Pizza.

We met a former WWE wrestler who was sitting at a table, too. But back to the restaurant - the flavor is there. My one issue the bottom of the pizza dough was very flimsy on both pizzas we ordered (Kale braised and the gladiator) so the cheese and toppings slid right off when taking the first bite. Like I said the flavor is there though. Had the peddler red IPA and it was terrific. Also had a very tasty kale salad. If they get a nice soft but firm bottom to the pizza slices, this place would be a 5/5. Would we return, yes!

Flatbread "pizza", pretzels and beer cheese, charcuterie or cheese boards, potato chip "nachos", and for dessert cinnamon sugar pretzels with cream cheese frosting or S'mores pretzel with marshmallow dip! Freshly baked cookies too! Staff is so attentive and friendly. Weekend evenings get busy so plan ahead. A terrific place to hang out with friends or after a Marshall University event. You will not be disappointed!

I stopped by with a friend after attending an alumni event at Marshall. Lafontaine's Rooftop Lounge…read morewas suggested as the after-party spot. We entered through the alley (there's a sign by the fence directing you where to go). We waited in line as the lounge could only be reached by an elevator. The employee was counting those getting off the elevator to ensure capacity was not reached. We waited roughly 15-20 minutes to enter. We arrived at the top floor, stepped off the elevator, and were immediately impressed. This was unlike any spot I've seen in Huntington. It had an upscale vibe (loved the decor), but drinks were reasonable. A Corona was $4, and a specialty cocktail was $10. And we hit the jackpot as we found two seats on the patio along the outside (with a great view). My only complaint was the wait time to order a drink at the bar. We waited roughly 15-20 minutes and were standing at the bar the entire time. It may be a good idea to hire an additional bartender on the weekend. It's a great place for a date or hanging with friends. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the food menu next time!
