I loved seeing the rock-afire explosion in person I got to go up and look at Billy Bob and Looney bird

My little is a huge FNAF fanatic and she had to come here for her birthday. We came on a weekend at lunchtime and had the entire place to ourselves. We didn't have high hopes due to past reviews but kept an open mind. BBQ Chicken Pizza - overcooked and burnt, sauce was too acidic for the flavor profile but other toppings were fine. Cheese Pizza - again, overcooked and burnt Note: If I was running a restaurant, I would not have served these pizzas. Wish I had taken pictures. French fries - could have been cooked longer and seasoned with salt Chicken Nuggets - perfect Buffalo Boneless Wings - these were okay, but not very tasty As far as the arcade, we were satisfied with the selection. However, many games need maintenance. I noticed several rides/games that have safety issues and should not be available for use. I would also say that overall, it was fairly clean but they definitely need to do a better job at sweeping up food and debris from the floor. We will probably re-visit at a later date but we'll definitely eat somewhere else. read more

My daughter's birthday wish was to go to Billy Bob's Wonderland. We drove 6 hours to get there. We visited on a Saturday which seems to be the party day. It was crowded but the place is so big that you can move around without issues. They had tons of games but we were there for the Rockafire Explosion. We waited until after the parties cleared out so that we could see the band up close. Shout out to the young lady that gave us the tour was really sweet and informative. Everyone else we encountered was friendly. Side note: that pizza really is A1. read more

This place is so cool! The games are amazing. This would be a great place to go with friends no matter what age. Many of the games are old school and look expensive to maintain so I'm surprised this place stays afloat. The pizza looked and smelled good. One of the last remaining places to watch a real animatronic band! Rockafire Explosion is up there with Rolling Stones and The Beatles! I drove down from Cleveland on some PTO to check this place out. Beautiful and nostalgic experience. I will most definitely return. read more

Feels like you're a kid again, except the pizza is incredible and the wings taste better than your granddaddy makes. The games are fun and use classic quarters and tickets. this animatronic took me to the storage room asking if i wanted to have a little "fun" so obviously thoughts started to wander especially to my other head.. but that's besides the point she took me and threw me around like a doll when im a grown man. she tried to bite my FRICKING head off. i got away but she said if i were to tell a soul they would come after me i dont know who "they" are i just know not to mess with them. billy bobs really needs to work on their programming an getting it checked because trust me i'm never stepping foot back into that place. read more

The pizza prices had changed a lot since the last time I was there. The better deal is to buy multiple small pizzas. There wasn't any party pizza deals anymore. The kids still enjoyed the food and had a good time. The Billy Bob show is great and updated. The place was clean. The staff was kind and helpful. read more

Billy Bobs is a great place to grab a bite to eat and have some quick/ reasonably priced fun, even for adults! The pizza they serve is surprisingly pretty great, so if and when I find myself back in the area I would GLADLY stop in again to eat. The arcade games are pretty diverse, and there's a lot of fun options for kids and adults alike! I got $5 worth of quarters to play with during my visit, but even in the short play time I had I found a few games that would eat quarters. The animatronic characters looked great! However, I believe that because of my visit being closer to closing time, they were shut off shortly after we arrived. Unfortunately because of this I didn't get to experience the band playing up close. We traveled from Pittsburgh to experience the Rock-afire Explosion band and can confidently say it was well worth it! The show was in great working order, and it was really fun to watch. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pizza, with some members of our group exclaiming that it's the best pizza they've had in ages..! (The fryer was down so pizza was really the only option.) Overall the space was much more spacious than I expected with tons of games and room to spread out. Some games were out of order, but there were still plenty to choose from. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the entire facility was clean and brimming with the happy activity of kids enjoying their Saturday. read more

My husband and I used to live in Barboursville and I loved to play skee ball at Billy Bob's. Nearly 10 years later, we brought my kids to play this past weekend when we were driving through. I must mention that Billy Bob's is pretty cheap for a fun afternoon. Also, their pizza is much better than what you get at Chuck E Cheese. That's where my compliments end...half of the machines are broken. The ticket counting machines are broken so the only way to get prizes is for a high school kid to estimate (this same high school kid did not want to work, spent most of her time speaking to a group of teenage boys, and nearly hit my 4 year old with a bag of Skittles she threw at one the boys. It hit the machine right next to my son with a thud so I'm glad it missed him.). The machines to purchase tokens are also broken, so you have to wait in a sometimes long food line to buy them. 800 tickets got a dollar store unicorn poop slime which my son really liked. All of this said, if you can afford Malibu Jacks in Ashland, it's cleaner and the machines all work. If you want a place that's closer to home and lower cost, it isn't too bad. read more

This is an old fashioned Chuck E Cheese style pizza/game/party place. Great food, fun atmosphere and safe environment for kids and families. Programmed animatronics animal show ads to entertainment. Play all types of games that pay out in tickets that can be cashed out in prizes. I gave it a 3 because many games were broke or would take your token with no play or not pay out correctly. With that said the staff paid back the discrepancy with extra tokens. The place is clean and fun and the kids all seemed to have lots of fun...perfect family entertainment read more

My 5-year old was dying to experience Billy Bob's since we were back in WV visiting. We met with my friends family in the parking lot and went inside finding the mechanical animal band was not playing and did not play the entire time we were there. 40% of the games were out of order or would just take your coins and not play. Some of the games would not even give you the tickets you had won. Multiple games that had basketball hoops didn't even have nets. No employees were to be found when you went to them for help with a game. We didn't try the food because we were discussed with the experience leading up to eating. Therefore, we went elsewhere. To be honest, my son would've had a better time going to a McDonalds or Chick Filet playground and it would've cost me less. So disappointed. read more

I'd recommend the pizza and chicken nuggets (it was probably the best pizza and chicken nuggets I've ever had). All of the employees were really nice! We came here for our son's birthday to view the animatronics and it did not disappoint. I saw shows play every 9 minutes the whole time we were there and the kids played arcade games and enjoyed themselves in between every song. Everyone was really nice, birthday parties here only 50 bucks which is quite affordable comparatively. Our kids loved it. read more

I took my wife, because we thought it would be an interesting experience, especially because we have many fond memories of Showbiz Pizza. While we were there, the staff acted like we didn't exist, because some YouTube vlogger was there, and was taking all their attention. The pizza was so so, but we just couldn't get over the lack of attention being given us. It got so bad, I had to go ask for some more soda. Billy Bob's Wonderland is a fun place to entertain kids (and to a lesser extent adults) for a little while. The WV equivalent of Chuck E. Cheese's, it's a cute diversion and well-worth a visit. Came here recently after a trip to the nearby sushi restaurant (Shogun), and I was pleasantly surprised by how cheap it was for a ton of tokens here. $10 worth of tokens is enough to keep you entertained for an hour or more with two people, which is quite impressive when you consider how much other places will gouge you for everything. That said, this is a place primarily for kids, so my friend and I (both adults in late 20's range) stuck to the sports and racing games which transcend age to a certain extent. Some machines were broken though that's not uncommon for a place that caters to kids. They have one of those "tickets to receipt" machines to make the ticket turn-in process faster and easier. The prizes weren't all that bad, and they have full-size name brand candy bars you can get for tickets as well, so if you don't need yet another stuffed animal filling up your house you can opt for a quick treat instead. The establishment was very clean and well-organized, and the employees we interacted with were quite pleasant. We did not try any of the food or drinks during our visit, and honestly it doesn't look to be much more than you'd find at any cheap snack stand. The animatronic character show was amusing to watch though it was hard to understand what they were saying (or singing), so I suppose you should expect it to be more pleasant background noise than anything else. There is a LOT of parking here and a HUGE number of tables inside, so rest assured that you will have no problems with either no matter how big your group is. All things considered, this place was pretty fun even as an adult (they do not require you to have accompanying children to visit, unlike the restrictive Chuck E. Cheese policy). The prices are great and the ambiance is about what you'd expect. Worth a visit if you want some quick and cheap thrills! Overall: 4.0 stars ---- Pros: - Very affordable, great option for families on a budget. - Pleasant staff make the experience much nicer. - Good selection of games to play (though mostly kiddie ones). - Lots of parking, lots of tables, lots to do. - Good options for your tickets. Cons: - Some machines will eat your tokens and it's a pain to get them back, and at their low prices it's honestly easier to just write it off as a loss. - Many of the games here were popular in arcades when I was a child, which you could interpret in one of two ways: the machines are "classic" or very old. Took a road trip from Cleveland to Billy Bob's Wonderland (4.5 hrs), to check out Rock-afire Explosion. Did not disappoint. In fact, it was an awesome experience. Rock-afire Explosion was awesome to watch. The show was beautifully restored. Music choice was perfect with great movement/ performance from the band. The stage was huge and prominent. Beautiful background and awesome props. Billy Bob staff and owner went over and above to make sure the experience was epic and special. The pizza and food were super good. Highly recommend. Could not thank the owner and the staff enough for making such a special memory. Will be returning 100% read more

This place brings me back to my glory days of being a young lad with a Hillbilly Bob heart. You can't beat the games and prizes here, and they have the largest tiny Ferris wheel ride I've ever seen! A little girl looked like she was thoroughly enjoying it. I also saw a fantastic live performance! Unfortunately, Billy Bob the bear was the only musician there who was healthy as the rest of the characters suffered minor mechanical injuries. We took our kids here for a fun day Sunday. We've been here many times before. Today's visit was a huge let down. Literally over half the arcade machines were "out of order", and the ones that did work would take your coins. The kids were disappointed and we were upset of the time and Money we spent. We definitely will not be going back. We will make the extra drive to Malibu Jacks, better ambiance and working games/arcades. Really sad for the Barboursville Community to lose the nostalgia of something that once was a great place to go with friends. read more

This place has changed so much. As of now, it looks almost as if it just opened like in the 80's. Unlike most of the past reviews on here, this place is far better now as for there is people working on the animatronics (Robots) now. The inside of the building is being remodeled from what I've been told. Not to mention the arcade, that is far better now as well. Machines aren't stealing your tokens, they give you your tickets, etc. The pizza is about the same. Amazing. I dont see anything to hate about the establishment anymore. this place is fun for the 3 kids (age 7-10). Some of the machines took the tokens and gypped them out of tickets but that's no different than any arcade place we've taken them to. The pizza was a 5/10. overall it's a clean place. I'd come back. Staff isn't the friendliest. read more

I cannot even believe this place is still open for business. We took my son and his cousins there for a birthday surprise. He loves animaltronics like what would be found a Chuck E. Cheese. However, we did not want to drive what would be three hours for the nearest. Everyone was hungry. The place acts like the pizza is the trademark item their, so we go with the special that include two pizzas and 40 tokens. We also order two orders of chicken tenders and chips and salsa. Here it goes: this was the absolute worst pizza I have ever had in my entire life. My whole family agreed and we had no intentions of taken a whole pizza and a half home. Why would we? It was disgusting. It was messy with uneven layers of cheese and sauce distributed over the pie. It was like a three year was asked to make two pizzas by their self. The chicken tenders we rock hard and burned throughout. Couldn't finish these either. The chips were stale and the salsa was red water. How much did this cost? $60.00!!! We were so mad we couldn't even allow ourselves to pay for the kids to do laser tag. We figured it would be another rip off. Wish there was a way to do a negative star. read more

Horrible place to waste money. Took my boys and my fiancé to celebrate my youngest child's birthday and should've left after walking in. The coin machine didn't work so you had to stand in line for 30 minutes where you order food just to get tokens. Then you go to play games and there were numerous machines that didn't work, and the ones that did either took your money or wouldn't give you tickets. Speaking of tickets, they had 2 machines that counted your tickets working. That's it. So anytime you win a decent amount t, you had to go get in line cause you would be there for at least 30 minutes if not longer because it kept getting jammed because if you don't put at least 5 tickets in at a time, it messes up and jams it. Seriously, just take your kid to the mall. Their arcade may not be as big but at least their machines work and you can actually enjoy playing games and spending times with your kid instead of waiting in lines the entire time. read more

I took my kids there yesterday. Most of the games were down. I'm not exaggerating even a little. What wasn't down either took our tokens or didn't put tickets out upon completion. That being said they have fantastic pizza. The food there is some of the best pizza you can get. I will say once I said something to the staff theyou did give us some free tickets. The thing is the prizes there are pretty lackluster. 200+ tickets get you a dollar store toy or some candy. We're pretty torn about going back because the place just seems to be falling apart left and right, but the food was good. Decent place to entertain kids. It is never super crowded and the employees are nice enough. The food is okay. The pizza was fine the first couple of times we visited but this last time it was gross. The games are poorly maintained and a lot of the machines steal your tokens, which really sucks considering most of the ticket games are 3 to 4 tokens to play. The character show had a big sign on it that said it was out of order too. The kids left feeling so sad from a place that is supposed to make them so happy. read more
