    Seafood rice for $16
    Michelle F.

Pricey. Messy. Good unique flavours. Skip the crawfish. Poorly executed service of food. (Our food was served at different times on our table as we waited for all the food to come at once when we clearly stated we were sharing). I was happy to hear a location is in north side. Its small with just a handful of tables like 8 or so...so come before 5pm or after 730pm to avoid waiting. Dining does take about 1.5 hours despite the food coming out relatively fast after ordering. I did not like how they served everything as it was ready...so one person got their food about 10 minutes after someone else. The chicken wings we ordered were served last instead of as an appetizer which is a huge mistake for any restaurant. Dont do this!!! It makes for a terrible dining experience. We had the lobster, the dungess crab and the crayfish. I would say that its a pretty good portion for 1 person and it was filling for me. The crayfish was not worth it as it was so difficult to eat and so little meat in those tiny peices. My tip...dont fool around here. Order the star attractions like lobster or crab. Get the seafood rice. Skip the potatoes and side upgrades. Those extras add up significantly and they were not at all worth it. It did not improve the flavours, it just made our bill more outrageous expensive. The seafood rice is delicious. It is different from any rice ive had and it actually had decent amounts of seafood rice in them. The captain boil flavouring was my favourite as the cajun flavouring was a tad too overpowering for the seafood. It is messy. Put on a bib, roll up your sleeves and get cracking here. Its not ideal for everyday snacking but it is nice for special occassions to get dirty while eating. More of a family place instead of a date night place. Service is ok. The timing of food was haphazardly served. When youre paying $200 for a meal for 3, you expect service to be on point and stellar. It also felt like we were rushed to eat and leave. We kept getting asked if we wanted things packed to go while we were still eating bc there was people waiting at the door. It isnt cool and ruins the dining experience bc this place is not considered fast food. Meh...these things bother me enough i wont be back on peak times to avoid these hassles.

Walking into this restaurant was refreshing, nice bricks on the wall, lots of big windows so great light. I loved that the place didn't smell like seafood like some restaurants do. The fact that it didn't have carpet was very smart. The tables are covered in large sheets of paper instead of a table cloth, there are bibs and plastic gloves already setup. We sat at a both and water was dropped off right away. Once we settled into having a glance at the menu our amazing server came by to ask if we had ever been to Captain's Boil and if we needed any help with the menu and how to order. He explained the process and helped us out with his opinion and the most recommended. He was very knowledgable. We were conflicted about trying crawfish and he was so great with suggesting that he could ask the kitchen if they were able to make us just 2 crawfish so we could try it out and order our regular meals. We ordered a half dozen fresh oysters, very fresh and delicious. $20 for the 6 oysters. The menu shows you that there are steps regarding ordering. The cost is according to the catch that you choose. Step One - Choose your catch (1lb) We ordered the mix and match, you get 1/2 a lb of each, We ordered shrimp and mussels. Step Two - Choose your flavour We chose the Captain's Boil , which is a mixture of all three sauces. Step Three - Choose your heat We chose mild, to be honest I thought it would be a little spicy and it isn't I would probably recommend going to medium. With your meal you also have the options for 2 sides, you have the option of getting the regular sides ( corn, potato or steamed rice) We decided to go with Corn and Potato. The premium sides are a little over priced. The food comes in a plastic bag and you receive a bucket for the shells. The experience was different, the shrimp are head on and have the full shells, which is a little tedious to d-shell from a bag, and you have mussels on the half shell. the potato and corn are also in the bag soaking up the amazing flavour of the sauce. Overall a great experience. I would defiantly return to try something else off the menu. The server is a huge reason for the experience. He was always on top of things and made sure to check on us.

Had higher hopes for this place, and the atmosphere was kind of nice, however I was quite disappointed with the food!

We were pleasantly surprised as the haddock was tender and flaky, and the batter was crispy and flavorful. The thick cut fries were definitely a wonderful pairing. Lots of lemon wedges and tartar sauce were provided as well as different types of vinegar, including my favourite malt vinegar. Service was great, as soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and asked if it was our first time there. Special attention was given, even though it was extremely busy. This place was bustling as we went on a Saturday around 6:30 PM and had to wait for a table. People seemed happy and the fish and chips just kept flying out the kitchen. The atmosphere was interesting to look at while waiting for your food. There were British style telephone booths everywhere and lots of UK/London style pictures and decor that added to the experience. I would definitely recommend this place!

Fish was pretty greasy. Batter was crispy but gets soggy quickly. Fish itself was good. Fries were more like potato wedges, very fat fries. Would have like them more cooked and more salt. Sooooo many fries. I would highly recommend get the code combo for 2 people and just order additional fish. I tried the side of beans - was good. Side of coleslaw was also good, very crisp. Side of 1 bun was soft and good. Overall not my favorite fish and chips place but that's just my preference.

The selection is smaller than you might find in a city, but they make up for it in originality and variety. How about three kinds of noodles? And Italian meatballs, prawns, chop suey, deep fried scallops and tempura fried fish. Those last two really impressed me, because they were both fried just enough to allow their delicate flavors and textures shine through. Someone paid attention. On their salad bar, you'll find a different variety of vegetable and fruit salads, alongside simple but excellent fruit slices like papaya, mango, and lychee fruit. Again, someone paid attention to the details, instead of just hacking up some tossed salad and a bunch of melon. I LOVED that they had sushi! It was simple stuff, mostly cucumber, avocado and shrimp, but it was beautiful and tasty--not going to complain! Desserts were simple, but there's something for everyone. Two kinds of cake, chocolate and lemon--I had one of each, plus the lovely custard. What I thought was really cool was the wide variety of ice cream they had available. They had the standard vanilla, but also mint chip, oreo and more. Service was superb. They are quick and soooo nice there. Excellent! I'm pleased with the whole experience. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Westlock.

It comes with - Salad, Hawawshi (flatbread filled with meat), kushari (Egypt's national dish consisting of lentils and macaroni), baba Ganooj, Musakka as well as a bunch of skewers. Chicken, beef, kabab skewers, lamb shank and rice. We also ordered Egyptian tea which was delightful. Food took a while to come out. However it was all good except the lamb shank was on the dry side which was disappointing. I really enjoyed the salad and the baba ganooj. My husband enjoyed the meat dishes. However we both loved the Hawawshi. Give it a try!

This was my first visit to this Atlas Steak + fish location, but I've to the location in Kamloops…read morebefore, and that was a good experience. This visit was not. It was Mother's Day, but we had a reservation for an early dinner. We arrived on time, but despite having a reservation, we still had to 5-10 min for a table to be cleared and ready. From what I could tell, the restaurant was only half full, but not fully staffed. Much like the location in Kamloops, this look like a high-end steakhouse. The kids were impressed with mist covered entrance. Once seated we got our menus. It took a while for our server to come by, but as mentioned, they looked understaffed. The first thing she asked is if we want sparkling or still water. We chose still, only realizing later it was Evian water, not tap water. This was a common practice in fine dining restaurants decades ago, but I think the industry realized that it made feel customers cheated and so I haven't seen this for awhile. I feel it's the roughly the equivalent of being asked to tip for everything now - customers are feeling bad being forced to say no, and feels like a poor business practice. After taking our orders, we were served the complimentary bread. It looked good, but the moment I started to tear it apart, I could immediately tell it was not fresh. The outside was a hard dried-out shell, and the inside was barely warm - like it was sitting under a hot lamp for too long. The kids at the table also mentioned that it's not as good as they remember. We mentioned it to the server, and she thanked us for the feedback. I tried the following: - Prime Rib - Mixed review. The prime rib itself was good. I asked for medium rare, and that's exactly what I got. But It wasn't freshly carved, so it was luke-warm at best. Yorkshire pudding was hard and cold. The potato and kale/spinach pure were fine. The red wine jus had completely congealed. I forgot what it was, so when the plate was placed in front of me, it look like BBQ sauce, and not red wine jus. - New York Striploin - Not good. We asked for medium rare. It was clearly medium - and ended up dried out. I informed the server, and she was willing to replace, but I also encourage my family not to waste food, so we kept it, even if not at it's best. - Truffle & Parmesan Fries - Good. Very large portion size, so couldn't finish it. Service was spotty. Server was nice enough, but just didn't really have the tools or energy to help us with our problems. When we complained about the striploin, she did offer free dessert, but it was a big steak, and we were too full to take it. So what does that mean? I had to pay for still water, cold bread, cold prime rib, overcooked sirloin - at full price. I admit that the overcooked sirloin could have been fixed with a replacement and/or free dessert, but I don't think it would've made up for the entire visit. A place like Atlas aims to provide an ultimate dining experience, and once a mistake is made, it's an uphill battle to recover, and it certainly didn't here. I would have doubts coming back to this location, and possibly other locations too.
