    I really like Camp Transformation ! I signed up for their 3 week keto challenge and had plans to leave after it was over. In that short period of time I worked out 5-6 days a week and am starting to see real change in my body....so I signed up for the new 6 week challenge! Can't wait to see how I can continue to transform!

    The Camp Transformation Center is a gym that offers various programs to start new healthy lifestyles, with a nutrition program paired with exercises that are meant to either lose weight, or to recomposition your body by gaining muscle, and losing body fat. The program that I participated in was 6 weeks long with the goal of losing 5% body fat. It included eating, eating, eating, and eating, along with exercising twice a day for 5 days a week. One High Intensity Interval Training session, focusing on either upper body, lower body, or full body, paired with a resistance session training the same muscle groups targeted by the HIIT workout. As part of the nutrition guide, I had to consume 4.5 cups of rice, 6 cups of broccoli, and 24 ounces of chicken, along with 3 protein shakes a day, and exactly 15 almonds. At first it was difficult to eat so much, but as the weeks went by, it became easier, and I felt like I really needed it, especially with the amount of calories I was burning a day. My Apple Watch averaged over 1,200 calories burned on my training days. At the end of my program, I was able to reach my goal of losing 5% body fat, fixed my sleeping schedule, able to wake up before the sun comes up, and fit into the pile of clothes that I put away that wasn't able to fit anymore. Thank you to coach Ted, Mack, Lou, Jas, and Keri for the opportunity to transform an important aspect of my life, especially having my beautiful wife do the same program by my side.

    I've been in the camp for a week few days doing their six-week fitness challenge. During the challenge, you have an FTDI diet that they provide which offers pescatarian and vegetarian options. You do have to commit to going at least five times but you can do more and even go more than once a day. All the trainers are good and they have the week broken down in to arm, leg, and full-body days. It's nice because you don't feel like you're doing the same workout each time you go in. If you are competitive this place could work for you but you have to be willing to push yourself On your own since everyone is going at their own pace. The camp only has group classes and ranges in the number of attendees. I've been to classes as low as 5/6 and as many as 20 approximately. This also depends on peak times bc they have three classes in the morning and evening and two on Saturday. They are closed Sunday but do have an app you can use. There is more to the six-week challenge and they offer a good amount of other challenges. But, if you want to just join as a member there's an option for that too. It's definitely worth checking them out.

    The Camp is not just a gym it's a second home. I found not only my family here, but myself. I cannot express the gratitude I have for this place. I have been able to overcome mental and physical health difficulties with their help. Not saying they are a cure to anything, but they make you want to do and be the best you, you can be. They are not only great trainers, but incredible friends. The community is phenomenal. I wake up at 4am everyday excited to come and workout just because these amazing people I get to call my Awesome Fit Family.

    The Camp TC is great! Went here for about a year when I first moved to Austin. It was great! Supportive staff, great trainers, and good products. I love how the gym really creates a community atmosphere. People are encouraged and supported to meet their goals but also challenged to work hard. I joined because my best friend was there and we made other friends there. We were really all in it together! They also host a family/friend invite on the first Saturday of each month which was always fun! My only suggestion would be to have their flooring cleaned more often (so much sweat on that floor that requires members to lay down a lot), equipment could be updated and their membership prices were steep (more deals would be awesome). Overall, it's a great environment and wish I had something like this closer to where I live!

I missed some workouts, but I kept at it. Today I'm not the same person. I look forward to workouts, and because Sondra is so knowledgeable, she knows how to keep me engaged. Now I hate to miss a session! I've lost all the weight I'd put on and am so much stronger and fitter, with better endurance. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe. ATX Gym has you covered. It's small, intimate and efficient. From what I've seen, the full spectrum of fitness levels finds a home here from those who could do Olympic lifts in their sleep to those who are just getting their feet wet (me). The classes always have a purpose and a plan but offer a lot of variety. Weightlifting, strength straining, booty building workshops, yoga, stretch, calisthenics, cardio conditioning, HIIT, dance--There's something for everyone. That's key for me personally, as I tend to get bored really fast and lose interest if it's the same thing every day. And the classes are small! No more than 6 people, which is the sweet spot between getting personal training and enjoying the comradery of others. It definitely helped me feel less intimidated, because let's be honest... walking into a group of strangers in unflattering workout clothes not knowing what to expect can be anxiety inducing. Lacey (owner and trainer) was so sweet, warm and welcoming! I felt welcomed immediately by her and the other few people in our group that were super supportive. Lacey and Max are knowledgeable hands-on owners that run their own classes and really invest a lot of time and energy into you. They really took a lot of time and stayed late with me to go over nutrition, set goals, and help me choose what classes would be best for me. Give this bad ass locally owned gym some love!

They really know their stuff especially when it comes to preventing injury and they work closely with you to modify the work out if you have preexisting injuries. This year I joined Fred's crew and he checked in frequently on my preexisting back and knee issues. We made sure to modify movements like lunges and dead lifts to movements that worked out the same muscle group but didn't aggravate my back and knees. Now that those muscle groups are much stronger I can do much more than I have ever been able to in the gym. The small group training format gives you the feel and attention of a personal trainer but is much more affordable. I moved away 3 years ago and when I came back I was at my heaviest I have ever been. BBD welcomed me back with open arms. I dropped a lot of weight, I feel better than ever, and I can't stop checking myself out in the mirror. I would give BBD 6 stars if I could.

As a lifelong soccer player, I recommend this boot camp for experienced athletes as well as those people new to training. Carol was able to challenge me at camp while also training both of my parents - who lost a lot of weight and changed their diet as a result of the boot camp. I am such a fan of SWAT, I've been a camper for 3 years! It is the best workout in town and Carol, Bobby and June have helped me with everything from recovering from ACL surgery to helping me get in shape for my wedding. How do I know she kicks butt? I've gained 12 lbs of muscle and lost body fat. Growing up I never had upper body strength and just assumed it was my body type, but she helped me DOUBLE my bench press. She also runs Boot Camps, although I haven't gone to any of them I hear they are the best around for cardio and losing weight.

Unfortunately, I took most of my classes with Charmaine. I was really disappointed with my experience in classes led by this instructor. She was constantly off, beat and off tempo, which made it difficult to follow along - especially in a group setting where timing is important. The music was also blasting so loudly over her mic that it was hard to hear any of her cues or instructions. On top of that, Charmaine rarely demonstrated the exercise clearly, so I often wasn't sure if I was doing the movements correctly. Overall, her classes felt confusing and frustrating, I didn't feel like I was getting a safe or productive workout. In my opinion, other instructors in the gym were much better, but my experience with Charmaine as an instructor was constantly disappointing.

It matters that they call your name out when you're working hard. It means they see you and they care to pump you up and encourage you to keep going or to fix your form if it is off to avoid injuries and to make sure you get the best results. Buuuttt...you know there's a BUT, they've lost a gem of a coach and got replaced with one that is so-so. Don't get me wrong. Maybe because they're new or still getting the hang of things. But if you come in and introduce the exercises to a class without knowing what muscles are targeted by what exercise, or what the exercise is called, perhaps you might still need coaching yourself. And also the class is waiting on queues to get excited and encouraged still during the whole circuit which I don't hear or see from the new coach. Will I go back? Of course! But I'm hoping the coach will step it up and not just walk around but also encourage us as we're sweating and working hard. If the coach isn't excited to be there, it shows through their performance as well! ‍
