It's been about a good 8-9 months since I've really got some exercise in. Fell off completely and it's been so hard to get back on track. I've had gym memberships to 24 hr fitness, la fitness ...and many other gyms ...and I like the convenience of having one but I just don't find myself having any motivation ...unlike today! Joined my sister and brother-In-law on a visitor pass and man did I get a workout in the one hour session I had! My body is already aching and sore as I'm doing this review lol. Clean facility and great staff! As a first timer doing a boxing class, my coordinating skills are horrible and I had some challenges getting the punching stance and arm movements down ....but man did I get one hell of a workout! I plan to be back really soon, hopefully as a member this time :)

So I'm in Austin and in search of a good free workout and I found Title Boxing. When I arrived I was immediately greeted and assisted. The manager (I think he was the manager) walked me around and showed me the space, then he wrapped my hands and got me some gloves. I can't forget he showed me the correct way to jab and punch so that I was prepared. The class is 60 minutes and the first 15 minutes is a warmup, you then get 30 minutes on the bag (with squats and burpees in between) you then end with a 15 minute AB workout. Overall, I enjoyed the workout, I burned about 600 calories and had a great sweat. I really like the variation of the workout and the ability to work all muscle groups. My only complaint is my aching hands but I guess it comes with the territory. I will definitely give Title boxing another go. Just a side note - 1st timers you will need to purchase wraps and they are $6 and the monthly price is pretty sweet at $99 with no commitment.

This is a long overdue review! I have been boxing here for a couple months now. Found this place on a Groupon deal. After my first class I joined and became a member. Bryan the manager gave me a great deal and credit for the Groupon. I signed up for a year. I absolutely love it. I drive 45 mins to this arena because of all the great peeps! I walk in and get welcomed by name! They always have fun events either at the location or at a restaurant. I have taken Morgan's, Cory's, Kyle's & last but not least Justin's class! Everyone is different. I love the 15 mins of core/abs at the end! It's a great workout! Non stop cardio! It's for all ages shapes and sizes! It's a fun workout! You sweat and burn about 1000 calories a class, depending on how hard you work! You have there option to take breaks and regroup or work thru the breaks! Check it out! Don't be scerrrrd!!!

Needed to burn off some steam today..

So you think you are in decent shape? You lift, you run, you do your crunches, stretch a bit so you can just about touch your toes then you take a 60-minute class at Title. Hello rude awakening! I did the introductory class and was pretty much toast after the warm up exercises. Then came the heavy bag workout finishing up with ~15 minutes of core work.... I was exhausted and the next AM was not too much fun either. But I stuck with it. I went to the free instructional classes on Sat AM to learn technique and now I'm hooked (crosses and jabs too). Hooked to the point I'm waking up at 5AM for the 6AM boxing class. The instructors (all of them) are great. They beat the cr@p out of you (not literally of course) but in a good way if that makes sense. All the trainers and staff will take the time to provide further instruction and positive reinforcement. Title also offers personalized training for all levels. If you are seeking to change up your workout routine Title Boxing a great alternative.

This is a boxing club; but don't get me wrong, it is fun as heck! I struggle keeping up with gym routines or high intensity classes because you're only ever doing it for the feeling afterwards, or for how they promise you'll look, if only you came back 3+ times a week. Do you know what that's called? You're using those classes as a means to an end. But not here. Not boxing. For me, at least, the very activity of boxing is an ends in itself (that just so happens to give me the fitness and body I've been after all along). It's hard, with tricky combos and footwork, coupled with exhausting, 2-minute stretches of nailing a bag with uppercuts. It keeps my mind buzzing, trying my best to keep it sharp and get the combos right (or helping my partner with their's), and forces me to reach deeeep into my reserves to hit, weave, and power through those moments when you just want to say "I can't". The gym is a no-nonsense, warehouse style venue, with plenty of bags and floorspace for the size of the classes, and a pretty decent split of men to women (though I think there's also a dedicated Thursday class for women?) Any notion of it being intimidating go away completely the moment you introduce yourself to the person next to you. This gym keeps true to what it set out to do, and I think for that reason it attracts that kind of person; no pretenders or showboaters or other such characters. There are some pro looking people, and some very green looking people (like me), and some in-between. People come here because they enjoy the thing they're doing. They're not here to just enjoy the after-effects. Classes are Mon, Wed, Fri, and I hope I can continue to make them all! (And when I don't, boy do I miss it!)

I was told have too much pride by a student there in the mist of him yelling. He also called me out saying letting me get in there with him. I replied your 100 lbs heavier than me. He continued on and on and approaching me even calling me a bitch. That is when the coach started to intervene and say you might as well shut up because there's only so much of him that I can control his exact words as I caught the drift and he continued on saying that I teed off on one of his guys as I hit him with a body shot and he was the second guy I faced, but they were trying to drop me with headshot so I see no issues as that's what the Coach was calling for them to do to me and I went to his body. But as soon as I disagreed and said, I did not tee off on him he took off his glasses and said you're really starting to piss me off proceeded to jump down from standing ring side grabbed me, shook me up as I was out of breath still trying to walk out the door because he was kicking me out I couldn't even make it to my stuff and pick it up in a timely manner as he was stalking me tell me I wasn't moving quick and then again proceeded to snatch me up and push me out the door as soon as I could pick up my bag, I agreed on leaving and this action was totally unnecessary and humiliating as a fighter as I just let him do his thing as it's his gym and I felt like I was in position to get jumped. I called the police so a police report has been filed. As if I even tried to stop him from assaulting me, I know there would have been greater conflict as once he took off his glasses and didn't try to reason I started to realize there was no bringing him back. I have not been training long or any really in a boxing gym and would have loved to know what I did so wrong especially since I did not start the confrontation and ultimately this is just unsettling and I don't want anyone else to be in the situation that's why was a necessity for me to type this to go ahead and move on as the Coaches name was BRIAN MOSS and even after calling the police they just wrote it up as assault by contact which most likely nothing will be done, but that gave him opportunity to file trespassing against me and I am not allowed in that gym for at least a year this is now conflicts with me doing a smoker and other training so coming out of the situation I actually lost more. Sorry about the grammar and punctuation. Just wanted to get this out of my head so I used the voice to text to complete. Hope I can give some insight on unity combat club to anyone who cares.
