We had a day pass here and were able to use the facilities to play racquetball. The courts were available to get reservations in advance which was nice. Kenna was very helpful in getting us scheduled. They also have pickleball courts. And a basketball court too. And a big thank you to Dennis who gave me an orientation talk before playing as I did end up getting hit and was very glad I was wearing the safety goggles so that I avoided getting damaged and stayed healthy! read more

I am so happy to have changed Life Time locations and taking an extra ten minutes of a commute to make this my whole gym. This location is unlike any other including the fact there is ample parking available and it is so easy to get in and out of the parking lot (which is definitely a headache at other locations). There is a pretty friendly team at the front desk and once you walk-in you are in for such a treat. You'll notice immediately there is a barbershop/salon to your left and a full cafe with meals, coffee, smoothies, and protein heavy products. As you walk through you'll notice the working space which encourages you to bring your laptops etc. and not make excuses for working out. It's pretty refreshing tbh and it helps you take advantage of when you have some time between meetings but not necessarily to step away completely. This two story building features an indoor rock climbing space, pickelball courts, basketball courts, child daycare, and so much more. In the indoor pool area you'll see a sauna, hot tubs and indoor lap pools and water slides. This then leads into their outdoor pool and cabana area which is so big. Locker rooms is large and spacious and I appreciate the steam room which has lavender scents. When you head upstairs you'll notice a studio class space, stretch zone with massage chairs, free weights, machines, and a large cardio area. It's super easy to be here for a proper workout and take breaks throughout and enjoy the amenities. The price is well worth it and I can't recommend it enough. read more

Locker theft at LT north.... Items were stolen from my locker in the locker room. It has now been a week, and the only update from management has been that "corporate will be sending the footage to the police soon." Notably, there was no physical damage to the lock, which raises additional concerns about locker security and access. For a facility that charges premium membership rates, I expected a far more responsive and transparent approach when theft occurs on site. Members should be aware that locker security appears to be an issue, so I would strongly recommend not leaving valuables in lockers. The staff will tell you this never happens, but the sheriff's office says otherwise. Interestingly, new security cameras were being installed this week, which suggests improvements may be underway, but the response to this situation has been disappointing. read more

I truly expected better from a gym that charges $200+/month to their members. The guest check-in process is very frustrating. My entire family pays for a membership and we were told that guests had to create an account and download the app to enter. We asked if the app was absolutely necessary, given that not everyone has smart phones or enough phone storage to download another app just to enter a facility. The front desk workers explained that this was absolutely necessary, then proceeded to ignore us for the next 10-15 minutes as we were re-registering the guest pass multiple times trying to get the app to work. She then asked me for my email and checked me in without anything else needed, continued to avoid eye contact with no acknowledgement of how difficult she had just made the entire process. The gym itself is nice, as it should be, but the lack of service at this location is disappointing. And before anyone from the business responds to this review asking me to reach out to someone, it would be better if they actually took the action upon themselves and stop inconveniencing guests that are simply trying to enter the facility with their family members of Lifetime. read more

I have been a member of LT since 2014 starting in Illinois. Transferred my membership to LT N Austin in May 2021. Generally I am satisfied. Today was not one of those days. After a nice workout I went down to the dry sauna to find out it was "off line" however NO notification was sent out to members until I mentioned that fact to a Lifeguard. So, I opted for the steam room. Nice steam however once I exited the showers are being cleaned at approx 2:15. Are you kidding me. 6 people are waiting for the one of the few showers not closed. After approx 20 minutes they opened the left side. I jumped in the shower to find out the hot water was not working. I felt I needed to log my frustration and have been waiting a manager on duty. The North location is way overpriced, they continue raising rates with no improvements. No one working the weight floor so no one enforcing any rules. It's dirty. You make us pay huge fees but we can't swim because you book ALL lanes and areas for swimming lessons, so you are double dipping and making us pay for facilities we cannot use. Lifetime has a lot to offer but I primarily go to lift weights. They don't have enough machines - only one leg press - or much variety especially for the size of the facility. It is really hard to get your workout in even outside of prime time. People tend to hog the machines and are on their phones between sets for long periods of time. I've tried to go to the gym during off-peak times but common machines are always being used. I spend too much time waiting. They have one row of more updated treads which are occupied as well. Meanwhile the older treads that they have so many of are barely occupied. I wish they would update their machines and treads. People who work there have been friendly. read more

This is a wonderful gym and it's beautiful. It's cleaned daily and it's pretty much immaculate. I have nothing but great things to say for the staff. They do a great job very warm and inviting very welcoming. Unfortunately, the corporate office is in love with themselves, and the myth that they are perfect - having had a couple conversations with the corporate office, they live in fantasyland The staff again are amazing, but the instructors as in yoga, and some of the personal trainers are very egotistical. They must have a lot of competition going on. Have you had to ever meet a yoga teacher who had a really inflated ego - that would be this location Not once but three times I was insulted by yoga teachers, who think that they Walk On Water just for reference yoga is supposed to be the diminishing or removal of your ego, and just because you can teach yoga doesn't mean that you're enlightened or smarter than anyone but only that you probably make about $17 an hour. Pool should honestly have a sign saying no children in pool if lifeguard isn't on duty instead of a sign that says no children 12 and older. It's a real disappointment when you were swimming in the pool for five minutes already and then get kicked out by manager and have to explain to your two-year-old that you can't swim anymore. I first joined Lifetime when it first opened in Austin. I loved it and could spend all day there! I had a break in my membership when I moved but recently discovered my company offers One Pass as a benefit and Lifetime is included. It's no longer as convenient since I live in Rou d Rock, but I still love taking advantage of all the amenities! The gym has changed a lot since I last went, but I could still spend all day working out, playing Pickle ball, taking a steam sauna, playing in the multiple resort style pools, soaking sore muscles in a jacuzzi, having a healthy lunch in the cafe, getting a massage...you get the idea. The only issues I've had is that reformer classes are an additional fee and the classes in general can be full to the hilt! I still love it and will drive out of my way to go play and exercise! read more

in terms of a big box gym- it does the job. Its weight lifting equipment is better than the cardio equipment on average. It is not like other LifeTimes though- this one is much more dated. Coloring and tiles are old/weird and doesn't really sell the whole "luxury fitness" thing. I heavily prefer the quarry oaks location, as it is newer, cleaner, and equipment is updated. I wish they would update their treadmills. Other than the GTX treadmill section (which you will be kicked out of if they're having a class), every other treadmill is the same one from planet fitness. They are also extremely old. This is the only lifetime I've been to that has this problem. Although it would be nice if they renovated, my real concern is the cleanliness of the gym. There is debris and hair everywhere and mats need to be replaced ASAP. The mats also carry a really disgusting smell. The complimentary towels are rough (and a lot of them have makeup stains) and need to be replaced too (I imagine they haven't been replaced since the gym has opened). Honestly it would get a higher review if they didn't paint the picture of "luxury". This gym is NOT luxurious, it's literally just a gym with better than average lifting equipment. Not sure this one is worth the $179 (but quarry oaks is). Oh man. Where to even begin on the Life Time experience. I've been to past gyms in the arboretum for years, primarily 24 hour fitness and while that gym fulfilled all my needs of sauna, hot tub, group fitness classes, or whatever else, it was often soo packed at peak times. Moving up north, we have had a great deal through my employer to have myself and my family scope out gyms and we heard rave reviews of Life time. Our first visit and every visit since has always blown us away, everyone is very friendly and helpful, the pool area, steam room and various machines and equipment are so nice and very well taken care of. So many cardio machines and I can have breathing room where no one has to sweat vigorously and drip onto me. I love seeing the basketball court, racquetballs and rock climbing area and the fresh towels provided for your workout and in the locker rooms. Yay for shampoo, conditioner and lotion so I can keep my gym bag low on materials to schlep around. Finally, childcare is a win and you get 2 free hours with your Little one and they even do parents night out! Score! Can't wait to benefit when our little one is older so we can have time to ourselves! Great gym so far! Membership fee is what you'd expect from a high end gym, ($$$) but you are getting a lot for that fee if you are serious about fitness! Walking in you are greeted by security at the front desk- very professional and nice staff. To the right is a small cafe with smoothies, snacks, sandwiches, and protein bars, etc. There's a full size gymnasium with a rock climbing wall and several basketball courts open beyond that. Rock climbing is open 3 days a week. The locker rooms look new and are very clean. There's an in-locker room steam sauna (my preference over co-ed) but the dry sauna is shared out in the pool area. Jacuzzi is also shared. I was really happy to see they clean the steam sauna 2x a day- you really want to clean them often as they can get gross fast. Locker rooms also provided shampoo, conditioner, soap in showers, and mouthwash, lotion, cotton balls, hairspray, blow dryers, etc at the vanity counters. There's a small TV lounge area- but I don't think it gets used much. Equipment is upstairs and I've never seen so many treadmills. There's tons of cardio options- multiple air bikes, rowers, steppers, Ellipticals of all kinds, bikes, etc. I've typically seen gyms have only 1-2 rowers so this was a nice change. Also the concept ski machine, full TRX set up, and at least 5 weight racks. It was the most well equipped gym I've been to. They offer classes with membership-yoga, cycling, strength training and Zumba-type classes. They looked well attended so get there early. In terms of general gym crowds however it does get busy but they stock enough equipment to handle it. Last they do have a day care center during specific hours- the gym definitely seemed family friendly. Overall would recommend if you can afford the steep membership dues, but I've seen clubs offer far less for similar fees. read more

Great nonjudgmental workout space, great showers and locker area and the wet sauna as well as the dry sauna are perfect. So glad I finally got to come to this gym. I don't fully understand the different club levels LifeTime offers you, as this (North) location, along with the Arboretum and South location are Onyx level, but you can only access the South and North location. In place of Covid, LifeTime requires masks to be worn at all times, along with a state of the art temperature check screen. Does everyone fully comply? No, but a large majority does. LifeTime is the exact gym I have been looking for! It is clean, has plenty of equipment, offers a multitude of fitness classes, has an indoor/outdoor pool, provides a variety of amenities, and did I say CLEAN? Because that was the biggest selling point for me. You can't smell the stench of sweat that has accumulated in the gym, so you know LifeTime is well ventilated! For $109/month, you get all of this PLUS a $25 LifeSpa credit, and a free onboarding session with a personal trainer who will help identify your goals, and provide you with a baseline of your weight/BMI/muscle percentage. We had Sarah, who is also the Regional Manager of Personal Training and is incredibly knowledgeable. The reception is not the best. I've called the front desk 5 times within the past 2-3 weeks, and no one EVER picks up. Same goes for customer services. When I came to the desk after signing up online, I waited for quite sometime before the receptionist came to customer services and got the employee out of the office. Payments are on a monthly basis, you can terminate your plan with a 30-day notice. read more

If you're unemployed, Lifetime is a good place to swim. Otherwise, you may find it difficult to get an actual opportunity to do so. When I first joined Lifetime, it was a swell experience: towel service, many open swim lanes, and an accommodating staff. However, over time, my experience has deteriorated. Since I am employed, I enjoy swimming after work, yet the kids' swim team has grown from using three of the five indoor lanes to gobbling up four of the five lanes, leaving everyone else to battle over the remaining lane. In the past, they swam in the outdoor pool during the summer, but they moved indoors--probably because Lifetime refuses to invest in one of those pool sprinkler systems that cools the water. Meanwhile, the amount of time that is reserved for the kids has grown, and they now occupy those four lanes from 5:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. So, unless you're able to swim earlier in the day or are willing to swim late at night, you are stuck. And if you bring any of these issues to the attention of the staff, at best, the response will be one of apathy. My advice: if you live near a nicer pool--I hear that the Georgetown rec center is good--try that first. Because, honestly, the pool at Lifetime has essentially become unusable. read more

Outlandishly overpriced. Biggest draw is the outdoor pool and that's closed the majority of the year. I've been at the indoor pool and found a turd at the bottom of the pool (found it with my foot) and had to alert the staff. It was indeed a turd and they closed the pool. Lol that's the kind of sh*t to expect here. The family changing room off the indoor pool is supposed to be dedicated to families, yet it is constantly used and abused by single adults who take up all the lockers. The actual parents of young kids have to wade through the garbage dump of discarded towels to use the changing room and restroom. So pleasant. So worth hundreds of dollars a month. Staff need to be monitoring that this changing room is being used by the intended people- families. Staff is constantly turning over. Must be an awful place to work. I once had to adjust something about my membership. I went to talk to one of the girls to do this. In the middle of helping me she starts crying, then apologizing for crying, saying her dad just died. What? Her dad just died and she's still at work? I felt so sad for her that she didn't feel like she could take time off from this soulless corporate job to grieve her dad who had just died! Personal training is expensive and ineffective. Used a personal trainer here for about a year. She was nice but the workouts were not very challenging and I saw zero improvement. When I told her I needed to stop training with her as I was about to go through a div$rce she never wrote back to me at all... wow. This was a person who had texted me regularly, but then ghosted me when I was going through something really painful, because she wouldn't be financially benefiting from me anymore. It would have been nice if she just said something like, "I understand, sorry you're going through this, it's been great getting to know you and training you." But to be ghosted by the trainer, when I even had prepaid sessions left, was another example of how soulless this place is. The main thing that I used to like about this place was the yoga classes and a few of the experienced yoga teachers. The gym managed to muck that up as well. They hired a new manger for the yoga department. This person was so disliked by the yoga staff that the main yoga teachers quit. It was a major shakeup. New yoga teachers that were hired in their place were inexperienced and I ended up majorly injuring myself in a class led by one of them. Due to my injury and the fact that the yoga teachers I loved were no longer there, there was no point for me to continue with this gym. I sent a certified letter to the lifetime headquarters to end my membership. So glad I did. It's sad that this place has potential but continually gets it wrong all because they care more about the bottom line than service. PS I would not recommend leaving your kid at the childcare center here. It's like Peter Pan's lost boys run that place. Staff are not watching. People drop off their sick kids here too. read more

Wooo!! Mr. Smidgens here! It was a cold night in the ATX and the time we had to hit the gym was getting shorter and shorter. Robynn S and I were about to head out the door when my phone buzzed. It was my favorite niece! She was having an allergic reaction to something she ate. We rushed out the door, stopped at CVS for Benadryl, then took it to her at her dorm on campus. That time I mentioned that was getting shorter and shorter was all but gone. The gym was going to close in 40 minutes!! Wait!! I had an idea!! I ask Robynn to google Lifetime Fitness 620 hours. Results? 24 hours. Boom!! You see, we had been members of Pure Austin for 20 years before Lifetime took over. Well, now that we are able to hit other locations this actually worked in our favor. Training session was back on!!! Thank you Lifetime Fitness for having Austin locations that are 24 hours for people that are serious about getting their training sessions in, no matter what time it is. read more

My friend just canceled her membership all by sudden and I have no idea what happened until she told me today! The so called personal trainer West J harassed and threatened her when she was in the gym! She insisted to talk to his manager directly and finally got it solved, then she canceled her membership forever! I'm super disappointed about what happened to her and seriously considering cancel my membership and recommend all my friends to do so. Apparently they think my friend was training me and they don't know people have friends who would work out together. I guess this place is just for lonely people work out silently by themselves.And of course they don't care at all, they only care about money. Even the staffs working there told me nobody care. I can understand why some reviews have not been stellar given the few issues that people in general tend to experience at any place. However, in my opinion this place is great! I joined back in 2009, but moved far from here so I had to cancelled the membership. Yet, I came back in 2018 because I moved closer and also because I just missed this place so much. It's my getaway corner in this Earth where I can be me, spend a great time, do any activity that my heart desires, bring my son (who loves this place) decompress from my week, and on top of that get fit. First of all, I love the clean spaces in this club, the locker room is nothing like you can experience in other gyms at all. The steam room is my saviour not only to relax, but my allergies are also gone since I use it regularly. On the other hand, I've experienced this place before and after becoming a mother, it was great when I didn't have a child, now it's even better. There are so many activities for kids throughout the month is so convenient. And yes, there are a lot of younger people in the child care area, but let's be honest, the kids will be there at the most 2 hours or less. In my case my son really likes the activities and the child care area, they have a lot of options for him to choose from. Maybe if he was 5 or younger I would not leave him there, but at this point almost 8 years old, the place really works for what we need. I've used the salon, taking friends here to get a blow out, manicures, pedicures, and deep conditioning. I've also use the cafe regularly, I super love the app where I can order something while I get ready and when I get there is ready for me, no waiting time. The pool area is clean and big inside and outside. Kids really love this area. The family changing room is huge, with separate bathrooms and showers. So convenient for my situation when I come here with my son and if he wants to take a shower he can and I can wait for him inside the room. Also, the staff has been very helpful from the beginning, in my case Alyssa has been amazing. I email her for anything and she'll answer right away and point me to the right direction. I'm regards to the fitness section, I've tried many classes and they're both structured and you get the results you want. Cycle class is one of my favorites, just coming here 3-4 times a week does it for me fitness Wise. Also the fact that there is nutritionist services is really exceeding my expectations. I had a meeting with Melanie Reyes and she was so helpful to my nutritional needs, the information helped me see where I was lacking knowledge and I do feel so much better today after that meeting. I believe that everyone's experience in this place is different, but that's the reason this place is great because it lets you build your unique experience with what's offered. This place is wonderful. I've been going here daily for the last year. The gym is well equipped for anyone of all levels of lifting. The pools and hot tubs are super clean at all times. Child care was the biggest selling point for me and also the main reason I finally gave up my membership with them. I left my baby with these guys looking fresh and recently changed into a new outfit. I ended up picking her up looking like a homeless person. She was absolutely filthy. Her hands and knees were BLACK from crawling around. There was another time she had 8 mosquito bites after we left her there. This is due to them having a back door that opens up to an outdoor playing area. The list goes on and on. The last straw for our family was when we got called in a half hour after we dropped off and they told us she was "unconsolable" for no reason. They claimed they didn't know why but when we had a quick glance it was clear to us what had happened. They were closing the place down well over an hour before their listed closing time. The employees had put all the toys away and were cleaning the place up. The kids who were left for the last hour were taking their shoes off and throwing them at each other because the toys were all gone. They were basically bored to tears. Our baby was barely a year old so all she knew to do was the cry. Kids need stimulation and without it they get bored or upset. All of this happened back to back to back. I reached out to address these issues to the manager and he did reach out to me but after three months. He kept repeating how he "always gets back to everyone within 24 hours" so I don't know what that was about but he sure took his sweet time in getting back to me! I contacted them 5 different times and even spoke to "Max" who is a manager. Nothing helped to get me in touch with Dustin. By the time he finally contacted me it was already after I discontinued services. I waited and waited to talk to someone to address the issues. He also repeated "so how can I help you?" over and over without really being able to converse properly. It seemed to be empty addressing and he just didn't really seem to care. Oh well .. I guess we will have to wait until our kids are old enough to talk so they can tell us what's going on and we don't have to be surprised. It's just so sad because Lifetime was really what our family thought we wanted. Recently we heard they got new management in for their childcare center so hopefully that will help them fix things up. Fingers crossed for the next year of their new management and we may give them another try. read more

I love using the sauna here. However,people don't use or sit on towels when they have some available to use right by the door and there is a sign. It's gets pretty packed. There is no room other than to sit in someone else sweat. Many people treat it like its there own personal sauna. They stretch out on the benches and do hip thrust. I have seen some men just in their underwear. Tennis shoes in the sauna are so unsanitary. People are talking on their phones. Others are slamming the door going in and out several times. I think there needs to be an attendant like they do in Europe. read more

I don't understand the complaints about the staff at all in some of these reviews. The front desk and managers have been nothing but nice and helpful the past eight months. I'm a pain in the bum and still haven't updated my card in app, even after I was given my new account number. I washed the card with the number on it in my gym bag yesterday. So I'll probably have to get it AGAIN from them today. Victoria was really helpful yesterday and kept a good/funny attitude while trying to find a working pen. I would've gotten so frazzled, but she had me laughing and stayed informative! The managers were quick when they switched me to my boyfriend's account. I figured there would be some kind of mess since he was removing his ex, but there was no trouble at all. Just a warning to not have any drama in the gym. For some odd reason my locker wouldn't open and the girl (I wish I would've caught her name) was quick to help and get my stuff. Id give the staff an A+. It's all about how you approach and treat other people. The facility itself is nice. It's always clean in the locker rooms and in the gyms/pool areas. I don't think I've ever even seen a towel on the ground. It's great to have the blow driers, lotion, fresh towels, spray deodorant for the times you forget things. I wish the free weight area was a bit bigger, it can get a bit crowded. Other than that, I haven't had any issues. People expect the moon just because it's a little over $100 monthly to join. Planet fitness is only $10 a month, you'll get what you pay for there. You won't get the care, cleanliness, or quality you get at this gym. Trust me when I say the price is right. I haven't tried the spa/nails/or salon yet, but I definitely will! The cafe area is so cute too. All in all, fave gym I've ever been to! read more

Beware of purchasing their refillable cups. They do not tell you upfront that they are only refillable for 3 months. I feel cheated!

I have had a membership for a year at the North Austin Life Time on 620 and like the facility. I've also worked with Jeff Hertzberg who I paid to be my personal trainer and he was a pleasure to work with. Today, I called with a question about membership and spoke with a female. I had reason to believe that the information she was giving me was inaccurate so I asked her for her name. She wouldn't give her name and used the excuse that she didn't feel comfortable/safe giving me her name. That's OK...just let me speak to the manager. Dead end there also. She actually made the comment that she was as good as I was going to get today. It's easy to have a crap attitude when hiding behind a curtain of anonymity. The call was made around 2 PM CST in case anyone even cares to look into who was answering the phone at that time. To the female that answered the phone, you definitely don't fit the caliber of experience that I've seen at Life Time and you certainly tarnished their name today. Have a nice day. read more

Front desk is helpful, patient & friendly. Locker rooms are always being cleaned & stocked. I don't use much of the amenities but this gym is huge, clean & I love it. read more
