Since our wedding 4 years ago, I have gained over 60 pounds and lost interest in a lot of things we used to do before we got married. I was obese, unhappy, and being only 29 knew I was too young to live life like this. My wife and I have both come up with a million plans on the weekends to start a diet and lose weight over the last four years and always ended up eating out all the time. We have done crash diets like the Ketosis diet and the GM diet to lose weight and yes, we did and gained all that weight back and even more. I have been on a personal journey to get healthy and change my way of life. In early July of 2012 I decided to look for someone to help me. Someone who would do more than steal my hard earned money. Someone who really cared about MY HEALTH and would give 200% to match my 200%. I was VERY discouraged to try something new, as I was recovering from a torn PCL, barley able to bend my knee and let's be honest feeling really sorry for myself. I am fairly new to Fred and this facility, but I am very happy with my choice to quit my membership at 24 Fitness and try something new. 24 Fitness continued to change the times of the classes I attended, and the trainers seemed to change out weekly. It was very frustrating, and after a year of membership, I had only fluctuated back and forth a few pounds. I had done Synergy Fitness bootcamp before, but the outdoor training murdered my joints and shins. When I looked around and saw that Bodies By Design's location was mostly inside, I was thrilled. The gym is stocked with seemingly endless equipment. We haven't had a repeat workout in the 3 or so weeks I've been attending. My shins are surviving, and I can already see the difference in the shape of my body. I've had issues with my previous trainers, but Fred is exactly what I need at this point. I started with out with BBD in September, 2019. I am not the "average" 41 year old mom who wanted to get back in shape. I have been living with metastatic breast cancer for 8 years, have had 3 brain surgeries and a bone marrow transplant, so to say I needed to be handled a little differently is an understatement! Where do I even begin? A year ago I was overweight, lazy and in the worst shape of my life. I had been introduced to Fred and his workouts a few years earlier but never took advantage of the knowledge he had. I have always been the "chubby" girl ever since grade school, I began trying to lose weight at a very young age. I would lose weight and begin to gain more confidence and then suddenly the weight would come back. It was like taking one step forward and two steps back. If there were words to describe where I was before Fred.. I would say I was living a life of denial. I ran, and ran a lot.. After the doc said, "Well your cholesterol is up, triglycerides elevated, your BP is up (I'm already on meds) and you are borderline diabetic. You've got two month's to fix it or I will. (Meaning more meds and a Type II diagnosis). At that point my weight was about 210 and a 30% BMI. Not good. I joined two gyms and hired Fred. At my best I've been at 178 and 19% BMI. It is a constant battle every day but Fred ans made it so much easier and has shown me what I am capable of doing. Next year I'll be 50. Because of Fred I'm in the best shape of my life. Bodies By Design is amazing. I have been doing the semi-personal training with Donovan for nearly 8 months. I love it here and have definitely seen results! BBD has a very different feel then any gym I've been in before. Everybody is very supportive, all there with the goal to improve ourselves.
